Tenn. (WKRN) – Caleb Cannon has been arrested on a first-degree murder charge in the 2014 murder of Nikki Burgess, who went missing over a year ago.

Canon was arrested in Nashville at 9 a.m. Wednesday by the Homicide and Cold Case Unit at juvenile court where he was supposed to attend a hearing. He is being held on $750,000 bond.

Memorial Day weekend marked the one year anniversary of the Hermitage mother’s disappearance.

Has anything changed ? Why arrest him now and not a year ago ?

They still haven't found her body. I read the articles posted above, I'm not seeing any new information they didn't have a year ago. I remember one of the neighbors saying they saw two people moving around in the dark the night she went missing, maybe the other person decided to spill the beans ?

Not sure if anything has changed. Nikki has not been found.
Maybe the crapload of DNA evidence finally did him in. Or his arrogant attitude.
Hopefully, he will tell them where she is so her family can lay her to rest.

I just saw where he was finally arrested in my news feed on FB.

I hope he confesses and tells where her body is. I am sure that will depend on the evidence they have that links him to the crime.

Investigators have not released the woman’s identity, but police spokesman Don Aaron told News 2 she had been visiting relatives in the Nashville-area when she was reported missing.

Detectives have reportedly found some of her personal belongings near the remains.

Now I'm confused. Was Nikki visiting her relatives when she disappeared ? I thought she vanished from her own house.
They also said in the video that the women who had been visiting her relatives had been depressed and suicidal. Those details don't mesh with what we know about Nikki's disappearance.

This may turn out to be an unrelated person, unrelated to this case, I mean.

Cannon's attorney, Jim Todd of Nashville, had asked Nashville Criminal Court Judge Cheryl Blackburn to lower Cannon's bond... Blackburn issued an order Dec. 8 denying the request.

Cannon remains in jail in Nashville.

Monday marked two years since Nashville mother and pin-up model Nikki Burgess disappeared.

Burgess’ friends said they are relieved that Cannon remains in jail, but still lack closure.

Burgess’ body has not yet been found. Her friends pleaded for any potential witnesses to come forward.

“We know that there is at least one more person that was involved,” said Brittany McCann, Burgess’ friend. “Nikki had children and they’re still here and they still have questions. Give them the peace that they need.
