I'm sure GM feels terrible. I feel so bad for her. You know how people sometimes have a false sense of security on their own property? Maybe she felt totally in control but in reality...with two small children with busy lil legs and all those woods, she wasn't in control. She let her guard down. Maybe taking two children to the woods is not what WE would have done but everyone thinks different. False sense of security. It happens. Bad things happen to GOOD people. JMO. :(
Amen! The rain was just unfortunate in that it could cover scents and make Noah even colder. Exercise was the best way to tire out little legs before a nap. He may not even have taken naps at two. My oldest didn't, my youngest did. Also my youngest would never have answered to a stranger. He was shy to the extreme while my oldest was incredibly gregarious. So weird how two children from the same gene pool can be so different. (I know, lots of different combos, but it still amazes me).

Not that I doubt you...

But... do you have a link regarding it was the MATERNAL gma who was with Noah
When he disappeared?

TIA...:seeya:

Noah's aunt (dad's sister) stated that grandma's daughter is Noah's mom. The link was removed earlier but you can find the comment by AM on https://twitter.com/hashtag/FindNoah?src=hash

Hope that's ok mods? If not please delete.

I SOOO agree that homes of the missing should be investigated as soon as the LE is notified of the absence...

There are so many clues that could be unearthed at the outset that may be accidentally covered in the everyday living process in a household...

perhaps a different pair of clothes could be missing... As we sometimes forget what a child may be wearing, exactly...

Is there some clue on the computers?

Time of last being in the home can be determined by studying TV shows last seen... Meal utensils... Etc...

SOOOO many things could be uncovered...the examples are endless...

Not to mention the child/person may have doubled back and be enclosed in some place in the house...

This has happened in past cases...

ALL... JMO

Also, not to mention fresh items for the dogs to maybe get a scent . I'm speculating. But if the dogs caught no scent, then would letting the dogs run through Noah's room and all over all of his belongings help them just in case ?
Come on Noah!!! Show yourself.

LE brought out more of Noah's clothes for the dogs to sniff early on but no luck. sarx said that little kids shed fewer skin cells than adults which creates a problem for tracking. Letting dogs sniff Noah's room is a good idea. Mapes said the water (meaning rain) has also been a problem for tracking.

Yeah, it sounds like Noah and his sister have gone on many nature walks with Grandma. The surrounding forest is something like 600 acres. It's hard to see where the trails are in Google maps but there are probably a ton of deer trails throughout. It was reported that there are also lots of briers, gullies, rough terrain. And there are not only ponds but creeks in the area. The ponds were searched and cleared on the first day but I haven't heard anything about creeks. I assume they've been checked too.

Where are you Noah? :(
I found the trails on a Zillow search trying to get a lay of the land. Absolutely gorgeous area. I would move there in a blink if DH would.
Stay strong Noah!

Unless Noah is the only who's been in the room, the dogs may get confused by the multiple different scents IMO.

If my memory serves me right, creeks were included in the statement about ponds being cleared. I have no link though.

Did GM have a cell phone on her? Or did she go back to house to call LE? Or parents. Whoever she called first.

Do we know how far in the woods Grandmother and the children were when Noah was noticed to be missing?

Do we have any expert SAR dog handlers here? I just don't get how the dogs can't track him. If dogs can 'sniff' in a body of water this makes no sense to me. Not passing the 'sniff test' here. IMO

I'd like to know that too. I combed through the thread but havent seen this info....where is the point of lost contact exactly? Maybe the locals know if GM was able to remember a certain tree or something she was at...people tend to know their property well. JMO.

Nothing official, but it was posted upthread that they were about 700 feet into the woods on a path. Somebody posted a map image of the location last night.

This is said to be the area where they were when he went missing. Apparently they have searched every single area in this picture, I assume they would be searching all directions

Yes, sarx dropped in a few times and did not find it surprising that the dogs did not find his scent. Kids shed less skin cells, dogs are not trained properly for that, etc.

LE said because he is so small that tiny children shed less skin cells...meaning there is less of a trail of his scent to even follow. That mixed with the rain...it's washing what little bit they did have to follow AWAY. :( The dogs are good. They are doing their job..there just isn't a lot to follow sadly. The darn rain! Grr.
