Noah Chamberlin was walking in the woods with his grandmother and 4-year-old sister when his grandmother lost sight of him, authorities said.

"They sat down to talk and she was paying attention to the granddaughter, and when she turned around he was gone," said Tom Mapes, the spokesman for the Madison County Sheriff's Office. "She immediately went to look for him."

Noah's grandmother notified the Chester County Sheriff's Office at 1:19 p.m. of her missing grandson. Mapes said the Madison County Sheriff's Office was then called to assist in the search.

From what I can gather on social media, he is still missing. They have asked volunteers to hold off for now while they have search dogs out and a heat detecting helicopter in the air.

Search for missing toddler continues into night

Search teams have canvassed the woods surrounding a home on Short Road in Chester County for almost eight hours looking for a 2-year-old boy.

Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver said Noah was last seen behind his home, near the Chester and Madison County line. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved gray shirt and blue jeans. Mapes said the shirt is not a thick, thermal-type shirt.

After the briefing, teams returned to the woods near the home around 6:15 p.m. to resume searching. Mapes said the search area is roughly 600 acres, but Noah is believed to still be near where he was last seen close to his house.

Why do these little tykes not cry when they realize there is no one around them? It is amazing to me that when a child is immediately missed, we never hear a report of them being found from crying.

Apparently grandma was walking in woods with 2 yr old Noah and a 4 yr old. Her attention went to the 4 year old and Noah disappeared. Hoping they find this little guy soon! You would think a 2 yr old would be crying and be found.
