If he's wearing a diaper, it will make him feel colder and he may try to pull it off. Hopefully, the dogs will pick up his scent. Worried sick and hope he's found safe and sound and soon.

This is good thinking. I would think this as well as far as his scent being even stronger because of a diaper. And he's a boy so most likely he was wearing one because boys potty train a bit later than little girls do. Even if for some reason he was wearing something that he could take his diaper off himself the scent would be pretty strong for scent dogs.

I wonder if the family has a dog. Usually a dog will try to find their child.

Sending volunteers home. Only search & rescue personnel to stay. This is from twitter feed. I don't see a news link yet. One deleted tweet said volunteers were given times to come back tomorrow. Either somethings up or they just have too many volunteers.

<modsnip>

Unfortunately it is very hard for dogs to find little kids' scents. Their skin does not shed as much as a grown up's. And I've never seen a case where the thermal imaging helicopters have helped. Does anyone recall a case where it did?

Volunteers are rarely allowed to participate in searches at night. They are continuing to search all night, they just arent using volunteers.

I see no reason to cast any doubt on the version of events told by the boy's grandmother, his family.

My stomach is in knots over this :( I just look at my little girl who is the same age as Noah and I just cant fathom how his parents must be feeling. The thought of my 2-year-old out at night all alone, cold and scared.. No, just no. I would be a mess.

My hinky metre isnt going off in this case. It doesn't completely add up but there's been nothing so far that makes me think there may have been foul play. I'll keep my mind open at this point though...

I'm glad the sherrif is letting lots of volunteers search. At least if he is out there there's a good chance he'll be found with lots of people out searching for him. Although hope seems to be fading now :( and did I just read they don't want searchers out tonight? Hmm..

Praying this one is different and found safe very soon!

So good to see you here sarx! Have you had the opportunity to review this case? I'd be SO grateful to hear your expert analysis.

I can't sleep. As the rain falls here in The City, so do my :tears:

I can't sleep myself thinking about this. I'm about to try again! I keep thinking, if I can't sleep, I can't imagine what the parents, grandmother, are unable to do. Eat, sleep, smile... ugh. A real life nightmare. I pray for a happy ending but the longer this takes the more worrying it is.

I was so hoping to wake up this morning and read that he's been found safe and sound. Absolutely gutted this is not the case YET.

How far could this little one have walked? Remembering when my now 21 year was tiny, he got tired so quickly after going for a walk. How could he have gotten so far away from his grannny?

The whole thing makes me feel so sick, I can't even begin to imagine what the family are going through... just a living nightmare! :(

Stay safe little man, they'll find you! x

I agree, good to see you sarx. The size of this little guy and the rough terrain will make him incredibly difficult to spot if he is laying down. It was only her purple jacket that made it possible to spot Rainn. Although LE said the ponds are clear, how can they be certain. It would be so easy to miss Noah among the rushes and mud. Also, several people commented on various MSM articles that the area has a lot of sink holes. I become increasingly worried as the hours tick away and hope for good news soon.

I wonder if the family has a dog. Usually a dog will try to find their child.

I'm reminded of the little boy who went missing, was found alive several hours later a significant distance away iirc. He was underneath his dog that protected him from the stormy elements til help came, didn't leave his side. Good thinking, if there's a family dog, have they sent him/her out?

must see video

"After 3-year-old Carson Urness went missing from his yard around 7:30 p.m. Monday, a search party of about 200 people was organized to find the child, Valley News Live reports. About seven hours later, one of the volunteers spotted the golden retriever-german shepherd mix near a knoll; Carson was huddled underneath the pup. It appears thedog protected the missing boy from a thunderstorm by using his body to shield him.

"You think of the worst, but then I knew Cooper was gone. If anyone was going to find him,*they'd just have to find Cooper," Carson's mother, Courtney Urness, told WDAZ-TV.

The boy and his dog were discovered about a mile away from the family's Cooperstown farm. Though those on foot were*called off from the search around 2 a.m. Tuesday due to heavy rain, ATV riders continued until one four-wheeler spotted the dog.

As Carson rode back to the family home on the ATV, Cooper reportedly followed closely behind. The 3-year-old was taken to a local hospital for evaluation but appears to be in good shape after the ordeal, thanks to his loyal dog."

Heartbreaking to think about little Noah being lost and cold.

LE and the searchers are doing an all out thorough search, IMO. After all the ground that has been covered, if little Noah isn't found today they will start to think all isn't as has been presented to them. I am really wondering about that myself.

The cleared area around the house is very large and grassy with plenty of safe space for the children to be in or play in except for where that pond is in front. I just have to wonder why anyone would think a walk in the woods with 2 small children was a good idea. Wonder what time they were supposed to have gone on that walk? Usually children of that age would have lunch then an afternoon nap. So was the walk in the morning before lunch or in the afternoon after nap time?

I have followed since the beginning and felt little Noah would be found but am now wondering. This has been such a large scale search and with a tremendous group of searchers. Forgive me for now wondering if the true story has yet to come out.

It just breaks my heart that this precious little guy has been gone for this number of hours and the weather at night would be so cold. I am so worried about the possibility he could have fallen in a sink hole he would not have been able to see. Now 2 nights have passed.

Little Noah and his family are in my prayers.

As of about 5 p.m., authorities estimate almost 1,000 people have assisted in the search for Noah in the past 28 hours including volunteers and law enforcement.

David Castellaw arrived this morning from Jackson along with about 290 others from West Tennessee to help in the search for the missing toddler.

As he and the others loaded the buses to go search the 600-acre area where the boy was last seen, Castellaw was still hopeful for a positive outcome.

Mapes said law enforcement teams searched and cleared ponds in the area earlier today.

Mapes said, and items from Noah's bed were gathered for police dogs to try to catch his scent.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has asked residents who live near the search area to also search their properties. "The TBI has announced they would like to issue a challenge for anybody that lives within a five- to six-mile radius of the site to go out and check their areas like barns, cars, sheds — anywhere a young child could hide because he could have gotten scared during the night," Mapes said.

"There is a lot of deep terrains. There's several, several creeks to cross. It's just bad. It's real hilly and real, real woody. Some of it has a lot of briers and stuff.

"We're trying to follow the path of least resistance because we figure a 2-year-old is not going to go through briers and stuff," he said. "It's just so hilly. It's hard to believe a 2-year old would walk miles."

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved gray shirt and blue jeans.

A few excerpts and a little bit of information about the search while we wait. I'm afraid the weather and cold may have already taken its toll. With that many searchers and volunteers fanning out in every direction, he should have been found by now if he was simply walking around aimlessly.

They're going to have to search small nooks and crannies and look underneath damn near everything in an attempt to find him. Opting not to search in certain areas because "we don't think he would go that way" is going to have to be eliminated from the thought process.

Also, highlighted up there it says the original search zone was about 600 acres. That equates to an area approximately one square mile. A "section" in farming terms is 640 acres, which is exactly one square mile.
