How would a drone search in the woods? Can it fly through the trees or would go above them?

I would guess both, since it's remote controlled?

Found the mum and grandma's FB, they look like a pretty nice, normal, happy family. It's just heartbreaking another night has drawn in, what chance has this little fella got if he's been outside all this time :(

Sorry for my ignorance but are Eagles a threat to children and small animals??

We have a home that backs up to a national forest. Yes, in my personal experience, any large predator bird will size up prey that size...to see if they can take it on. A hawk tried to get my dog last year...he's a large Rottweiler. I saw it flying around earlier and I didn't have a good feeling about it. I felt like it was watching us for all the wrong reasons. It swooped down, couldn't lift him but left huge talon marks down his back. He had surgery and recovered thankfully. Now if I see these large, gorgeous birds above, I bring the dogs in. So if a bird tried to pick up this kid, I'm guessing it wouldn't be able to lift him, it would have injured him and dropped him. I don't believe a bird got him though. I just dont. JMO.

I cant post link to conspiracy site but another set of search dogs from florida set to arrive there to help look for this boy soon according to his aunt who is posting there and an uncle from California also coming to help search. Just sayin.

As far as how far can a 2 yr old move, that all depends on the 2 yr old. My eldest grand daughter was steadfast and surefooted at that age and could have walked miles, her younger sister at same age not as athletic and agile but still could probably cover quite a bit of ground especially in two days time.

SweeT, is the other set of search dogs set to arrive there from florida, members of CUE's K9 Team? If so, I've witnessed their k9's in action and the K9s and handlers are the best around, imo..

Im being reminded of William Tyrrell now. Vanished from near grandmas house, all that woodland. I'd hoped Noah would be found quickly, I hoped the same for William. Ugh, c'mon little guy, be ok!!

I'm reminded of Deorr Kunz. Was left in grandpa's care on a camping trip. Vanished and now months later still nothing. Very treacherous terrain as well there.

Madison County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tom Mapes said the search is still considered a rescue operation to find Noah. Mapes said a new team of K9s arrived at 7:45 a.m., but the dogs have not picked up a trail so far.

"We're running out of time," Mapes said. "We need to find him and find him alive."
...
Volunteers from across the Mid-South have joined in the search, with people from West Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
...
The search for Noah Chamberlin is now more than 48 hours old, and Steve Neer, ground branch director of the Civil Air Patrol, said the Tennessee Wings branch is providing air and ground patrols to assist in the search.

Says it feels "32 now" with Low 26 degrees tonight in that area of TN per weather.com. If he's not hunkered down in something, under something...I dont see how he'd survive. The elements are brutal even for a winter prepared clothed adult. That little body of his can't take much. I'm scared for him. JMO.

Somebody talking about their search experience on facebook. Interesting but rumor.

https://www.facebook.com/BeckyHoodDoughty/posts/10207360780192009

I just looked at all his (John S) photos of the search. So heartening to see so many people out looking for Noah. Also interesting to see how bare the trees look - when I first looked at Google earth I thought it was a needle in a haystack job, but it seems like it should have been easy enough to find him, especially with thermal imaging etc.

So. I don't know much about sinkholes in thi kind of environment (we get few in the UK and they tend to be on roads or pavements). Has anyone got pics of what they look like? And could one swallow a child and then hide him from view?

I guess it all depends on how deep the sinkhole is. If he fell deep and earth and leaves all fell on top of him he wouldn't be visible from above I would assume.

At this time, someone actually taking little Noah is his best chance of being alive and that just breaks my heart.
We don't know what happened to DeOrr. He might have been taken. That's his only chance also at this point, IMO.
Hoping that the LE agencies involved are looking at that possibility while looking every where.
All babies are precious. This little boy seems to be so beautiful.

Yeah, I'd like to have more information on the sink holes in that area. I don't know anything about the terrain, soil, flow of water. Remember that national news story about the man in Florida that was swallowed by a sink hole and then the earth sorta covered back up around him? They couldn't find his body but they KNEW for a fact he was down there somewhere. Months went by and he was still not retrieved. I'd have to go back at this point to see what the *final* outcome was...but the point is, that's a indication of how tricky those things are...JMO.

You read my mind. I was just about to post that. I was thinking about how to word it because it broke my heart to think that was the BEST scenario! :shame:
