The address listed in the public records for the parents is 8.5 miles away. Could he have been visiting his grandmother or did they recently move and the public records don't reflect the change yet?

I found a photo of the home. and a facebook page........sweet looking family............https://www.facebook.com/Search-for-NoahVolunteers-and-Donations-932519820173304/

Looking at photos of the searchers/terrain at this link, look how thick the leaves are on the ground. There's even one photo where I can see 2 hole type things (in the center and at the bottom)...gives us an idea of what searchers are going against. There must be tons of holes like that if there are 2 visible in just one pic...

Eta: What about leaf blowers? I wonder if they are using those? Might be really helpful...

Yes bless her and her family.
Is there a dad also?
was it the maternal or paternal grandma watching the children?
where parents working or just a grandma day visits?

Definitely seem to be a family of 4 (mom, dad, Noah, his sister) and the grandma who was with him apparently lives extremely nearby.

I've not seen them specify if it's maternal or paternal grandmother, but if it's not paternal, than the paternal extended family is also very close to her and speaks glowingly of her.

Regardless, they all seem very close and to be a very faith focused family.

And at least some family from the other side of the country is en route to be there in TN to help/support/etc.

I've actually read Noah's aunt's blog periodically b/c we have friends in common because of church and a homeschool community I had been part of for awhile and someone had mentioned it on FB awhile back - but I didn't realize she was Noah's aunt until just about an hour or two ago.

Wow, what a coincidence!

I think those holes might be from uprooted aromatic red cedar trees which are very shallow rooted. Heavy winds which are common in this area of Tennessee uproot them all the time. Every time we go to our cabin we have more trees down. :(

Hmmm so maybe he fell into one of these uprooted tree holes... :(

You said they are quite shallow though, how shallow generally? He's so little... :(

Eta: (Man, so many sad smileys used in this thread)

How long has Noah been walking? How developed is he in this regard? I just don't see him being able to travel that far in these woods, tripping on logs, etc, and as mentioned, there seems to be fairly good distance visibility through the trees due to the leaves being fallen.

Where are you little guy? :(

My youngest is about 6 weeks older than Noah. At this age they walk quite well. In fact she could probably walk further than me haha. She gave up the pram a long time ago because like most kids around this age they want to walk and explore. She can run pretty fast too. At this age they can be hard to catch if you're not keeping an eye on them.

Judging by the pictures grandma was a long way away from the house so by the time she got home to make the call he could have been a fair way away.

Wow, six searchers list earlier. That's an impressive number. And now the twitter chatter is saying they are bringing in trackers. Given the mass amount of people they have had through there, I am not quite understanding.

For those that. Know the area, is there any chance he walked out of the woods and towards that side street? Is it a busy road? Does the family know any one across that road? Just another path he may have travelled.

(I got up to go to the bathroom and had to check in to see if by chance there was any news. Thinking about Noah's mom, how she must be feeling right now.)

(Eta: As I was falling asleep I remember thinking something feels off, not making sense, I'm probably just over thinking things, maybe it really is something as simple and tragic of him falling into a sinkhole, I don't know...)

I wonder if they're Border Patrol Agents (trackers)? Are there specialized SAR that are trackers?

I had the same thought when I saw the areal picture posted here before which showed the house and the woods and a marked spot from where he got lost. He could have gotten back on the road and an opportunist took him.

Nevertheless, my unconscious mind seems to think differently as I just woke up from a dream that both his shoes were found in the woods!

Wish it was true. Anything would now be helpful. So sad they have not found him yet.

I hope today is the day they find this precious little guy, I can't imagine what his family are going through

That's such a dangerous age for those curious little boys. So quick and without a fear in the world. I really can't imagine there was someone out there who snatched him. I pray he is hiding and scared. God bless all those searchers who give up their time to assist. May today be a miracle.

One other thing - may God comfort that poor grandmother. A woman who took a walk with her grandkids, was obviously engaged with them. Can't imagine the guilt she must be feeling.

Praying for a miracle for Noah.

I am a mom and a gramma of my precious 4 year old grandson. I guess you might call me a "young" gramma because I am physically fit and extremely aware of my surroundings and the dangers of being in-attentive, even momentarily, when my grandson is with me. I am having a very hard time imagining how this little boy got so far away, so quickly, that even tracking dogs can't pick up a scent after two long days of searching. I don't think he is there, in the woods. I'm sorry, I just don't.
