I saw her live in concert probably 30 years ago. And I’ve always loved the move “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Loretta Lynn, who was born a coal miner’s daughter before becoming one of the crown jewels of country music, has died.

She was 90.

Lynn’s family said in a statement that she died Tuesday at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

“Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home in her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills,” the family said in a statement. They asked for privacy...

I love her and am sad to hear of her passing. I could listen to her tell a story all day long. I just listened to In the Pines this morning.

When she collaborated with the brilliant Jack White for Van Lear Rose in 2004 it was pure magic.

I also forget Crystal Gayle is her sister.

She was truly a remarkable woman. I think I've watched Coal Miners Daughter about 10 times and still love it! She will always be one of my favorites, if not THE favorite. Prayers for her family.

She lived a long & prosperous life and I’m sure it wasn’t easy for her. RIP Loretta!
