Just another tragic swimming pool accident, police say. So sad though, there are so many, every year.

Officials with the Columbia Police Department said officers responded to a call of a missing child around 10 a.m.

The mother told police the child had wandered from their Burlington Circle home and she was unable to find him. Authorities searched nearby neighbor's homes, including one with a fenced-in swimming pool.

How did the child get into a fenced yard. Could be completely wrong but when I was kid the neighbors had pool with a six foot privacy fence you couldn't see the pool there was no sneaking in. When we were invited over to swim we went though the house to get to the pool. The town my sister lives in requires a six foot fence around a pool. I have not lived in the city limits of a city in 10 years so not sure what the pool laws are.
