KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a Jacksboro man recently added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's top 10 most wanted list is a former school teacher who was charged with solicitation of a minor.

Lonnie Lee Vann is wanted by the Campbell County Sheriff's Office for an armed robbery last week in LaFollette.

Oh boy. Is this guy currently jail?

No, I don't believe he has been apprehended since stealing the car and money yesterday from former employers. He was charged in July 2014 stemming from the alleged solicitation/assault in October 2013. I purposely excluded his name as I didn't think we could identify someone who has not been named a POI.

I'm not saying Vann is a POI.

Like you stated above, wondering like many others, if there could be a connection to Rhonda's disappearance.

His name is in the public record for the crimes he has been charged with, and is being sought for currently.

Interesting, someone with the same last name is the clerk of courts for Campbell County, any relation?

I think you guys might be on to something here. I saw the articles too about this teacher being indicted back when I first started reading news stories about Rhonda being missing. I never put the two different stories together because at the time, he hadn't committed any other crimes, and the two stories appeared to be totally unrelated.

Rhonda vanished from her home sometime on 12/2/14. On 12/6/14, LV went to the home of an elderly couple he had previously worked for, held them at gunpoint, zip tied them, robbed them, stole their car, and took off with a few guns telling them "I'm in trouble".

On a map that I had made up in regards to Rhonda being missing, I showed the Church where a SAR staging area was being set up to try and find Rhonda. Per the information above, it appears this same church is also the location where the teen girl was taken and fondled. It is approximately a 1/3 of a mile from where Rhonda lives.

Also, I found the Deerfield resort, where LV robbed the elderly couple and took their car. As you can see on the map, to get to this location, you could literally drive right by both Rhonda's house and the church along Cedar Creek road. LV would have obviously been very familiar with this area.

The link below is to a video describing the robbing of the elderly couple and what was said and done by LV.

The link below is an updated map showing both the church in question, and the location of the armed robbery of the elderly couple.

Why, out of the blue, did this guy suddenly believe that he was in so much trouble that he had to rob someone and flee the area? The indictment in July on the molestation charges, goes all the way back to October, 2013 per the video above, over a year ago. He's known for quite awhile that he was going to have to face these charges....why run now...... and why did Rhonda vanish days before ?

Are you thinking this is a voluntary disappearance?

No, it completely makes me think it's NOT voluntary.

I can't imagine her wanting to miss that.

Has anyone called the LV info into the tip line?

Excellent summary steelman! This case and these questions are haunting me. IF Rhonda was slated to testify against LV then perhaps LV went to her home, armed with a weapon, in an attempt to "convince" her not to testify. She steps outside to talk to him and from that point on nothing I'm imagining ends well.

Could his decision to run 4 days after Rhonda's disappearance be just a coincidence or was he questioned by LE about her disappearance - triggering the robbery and his exit from the area?

I want to believe he is just holding her against her will somewhere. I'm still hoping and praying that this beautiful and kind lady will be found alive.

"Public says what police won’t in hunt for missing woman"

Was Friday’s home robbery at Deerfield a clue or coincidence in the mysterious disappearance of Rhonda Kitts Daugherty? Police won’t say. But the popular belief circulating on the street is that there is a connection between the home burglary authorities say Lonnie Vann committed and the woman from Coolidge who went missing last Tuesday (12/02/2014). If these two disturbing stories are connected, Vann’s late afternoon hold-up on Friday (12/05/2014) is a gigantic clue and the first big break toward solving Daughtery’s disappearance.

WLAF has confirmed that the two know each other and that each attended the same church, Coolidge First Baptist. Daugherty vanished almost a week ago from her hilltop home at Coolidge while Vann remains on the run this morning. Vann is free on a $10,000 bond and has a February court date in Campbell County Criminal Court regarding inappropriate misconduct charges that involve a student from La Follette Middle School.

Maybe with the help of WS? :)

I've got a gut feeling that the two cases are related. I just pray that Rhonda is okay. My heart is breaking for her family.

I don't know.........but as you can see on the map, there is a lot of water around there. :gaah: :pullhair:

It seems like most of the cases I have followed recently, the victim always ends up in the damn water. :anguish:

Thanks for the link to WLAF steelman. Rhonda's story is mentioned multiple times on that site and from that site I gleaned a little bit more information that I don't believe we knew before.

-Charles Daugherty left the home he shared with Rhonda about 6:00 am on Tuesday
-Rhonda's mother (Nancy) tried to call her around 2:30 that day with no answer
-Charles returned home at approximately 6:00 pm and found the back door open - Rhonda was gone - her purse, cell phone, reading glasses and car remained in the home
-A tracking dog followed her scent out to the road where it appeared to stop
-LE began searching around 8:00 pm on Tuesday until around 5:00 and began again after daybreak on Wednesday
-LE believes they have exhausted all search areas locally
-Confirmed that Rhonda and LV knew each other and attended the same church where Rhonda frequently volunteered

I wonder if it's too late to use a dog to determine if LV was on the Daugherty property?

Forgive my ignorance please, but is the idea that Mrs. Daugherty absconded from the law, or that she was possibly taken against her will?

I can only speak for myself but I don't think she left voluntarily. What remains to be seen is whether her disappearance is in anyway linked to the activities of local former teacher facing charges for soliciting a minor and assault in the church to which both Mrs. Daugherty and the former teacher belong. The former teacher's most recent activities include robbing a former employer at gun point three days after Rhonda disappeared.

Has it been reported if there were any signs of a struggle inside the home?

Taken against her will.

I firmly believe in all probablity Vann was trying to prevent her from testifying against him. Having recently experienced the birth of our second Grandchild, I know how precious that moment was to me. Nothing short of being taken against my will would have kept me away from her birth. I feel Rhonda would have been there if she had a choice in the matter.

KJ's Mamu, have you been able to verify that Rhonda has cancer?
