TN TN - Rhonda Daugherty, 49, LaFollette, 2 Dec 2014 - *L. Vann guilty*

The TBI is notorius for not telling anything. With the Holly Bobo case they said so little and wouldn't give out one hint. When rumors got going, they would say things. That case went cold for a long while. Maybe it will be helpful for Rhonda and maybe not.

Looked for MSM updates, nothing. Anyone else?

Like steelman I'm not finding anything in MSM. Lot of garbage on Topix......most of it is not worth reading.....

The most recent case I can remember was the lady that was snatched off the street there in Pennsylvania, Carlesha Freeland-Gaither. She put up a fight and kicked out the windows of his car, and was later rescued alive. He had bought the car from some note lot, and since his credit was so lousy, they attached a GPS monitor to his car....probably without his knowledge. If he did know about it, then he ranks as one of the dumbest criminals ever born.

I have almost no doubt that Rhonda's disappearance is tied to Vann. He was being too erratic and crazy for somebody that just decided to leave town to avoid his day in court. He was acting panicked....big time. I don't think the mystery of Rhonda's disappearance is going to be solved until they manage to get their hands on Vann, and ask him a few hundred questions.

BBM & RSBM

Yes this was the one I was thinking of steelman and got it all wrong. This is exactly why I usually only follow a couple of threads at a time

I checked as well on MSM/FB and nothing. I will continue to pray for Rhonda and I have no doubt that TBI is working this case and hopefully will have updates soon and answers for her family.

I have been reading there out of sheer desperation. Hard to believe people actually think the things being said there, let alone type it out, yeesh!

Gosh...there is like zero information out there for us to sleuth.
Ugh...TBI doing their thing. I certainly hope they handle this case better than others they have had in recent years.

That's kind of odd to post on her Facebook page.

No changes in the missing person search and the manhunt

You want to know. And so do we. But there is nothing new to report to you this morning in the case of Rhonda Kitts Daugherty. She went missing on Tuesday, December 2. Investigators say she just vanished from her Coolidge home. Word on the other case, that many say is connected, remains the same, and that is the case of Lonnie Vann, who is wanted in connection with a December 5 armed robbery of a Deerfield community family. Vann has not been seen since the robbery. Pictures and more stories surrounding these two disturbing events are found further down this page. (12/11/2014 - 6:00 AM)

No news. Hopefully they are heavily searching the area around where Rhonda lived, and anywhere that Vann worked or hung out. I doubt he took her with him.

Sorry I should have clarified. It was the statement from the sheriff's office that a family member pasted onto the Find Rhonda FB group.

On the day of the robbery, sources told WLAF that Vann was a very strong person of interest in connection with the robbery, which occurred at the residence of Jim Fields. By the end of the day, Vann had been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations top ten most wanted list. According to the police report, Vann was at the residence to speak to Fields about working on a website for his business. Fields told deputies he had bent over to pick something up off the floor and when he looked up, Vann had a gun in his hand. Vann then demanded they open their safe. He stole three handguns as well as $900 in cash before leaving in a cream-colored 2013 Chevrolet Captiva, which Vann had rented on Dec. 3 from La Follette Enterprise. Vann zip-tied Fields and his wife to the stair railing and told them to wait at least 30 minutes before calling the police. Jim Fields was able to free himself in about five minutes and called the police. The vehicle Vann left in has a Maryland tag with the numbers 2BC-6411. The case has been turned over to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. According to law enforcement, Vann is considered armed and dangerous and is actively being sought for questioning regarding the armed robbery.

Vann didn't have much of a head start. Of course, here we are a week later, and he still hasn't been seen.
I'm sure he has plenty of a head start by now.

It looks as if Vann thought he needed at least a 30 minute head start in order to out-distance and out-maneuver law enforcement. I guess 5 minutes was more than enough.

Guess Vann either ditched the rental car, or it did not have the GPS system in it? Wonder if he researched Captiva's prior to renting one?

Rhonda, where are you?!

Wouldn't the GPS just work to help navigate the car, I don't think they can track you while using one of those, can they ?

I know they have GPS transmitters installed on big rigs and high end luxury cars, and cops use them for surveillance at times, but those aren't the same setup you get when you buy a Tom-Tom or Magellan down at Wal-mart. Those GPS's are receivers only.

I'm not sure about the On-Star set-up.......never had it, never used one. That vehicle is showing a whole lot of high tech gadgets available per the user manual. If it is possible to track him using some of that gadgetry........they seem to be taking their good old easy time closing in. Of course, if he drove down into Mexico, they would have a whole new set of problems to deal with. If he parked the car, disconnected the battery, and blew his brains out somewhere, then it may be a long wait to find out what happened prior to the day he left town in such a panic.

Keep in mind, regardless what is happening, we won't find out a single thing about it due to the media and public information black-out imposed by the TBI. I hope they have briefed the officers involved to make sure and take Vann alive, because if they don't, finding Rhonda may just end up being a never ending search expedition.

The original news reports said that LV robbed the elderly couple of approximately $300. I was thinking $300 wouldn't last long and he would have to figure out someway to make or get more money. The most recent 1450 WLAF article states $900. I wonder which amount is correct?

Let's be wise sleuthers, and assume it is in the middle........$600

Either way, I'm sure Vann was greatly disappointed that there wasn't more in the safe.

He's not going to go very far on either $300, $600, or $900.

Well, that's a give away to me. He mentioned Rhonda to the couple he robbed and knew about her disappearance.....Not looking so good to me.
Still praying she will be found safe.

The victim of that robbery told WATE 6 On Your Side that before Vann allegedly pulled a gun on him, they talked about Daugherty’s disappearance. According to the victim, Vann said he only knew Daugherty and they had attended church together.

That's about as clear as mud ...

That's what I was just thinking. Even $900 is going to run out soon, if it hasn't already.
