I'm surprised that the girlfriend that reported AQW to police for bomb making wasn't afraid of retaliation. Also, strange how he could repeatedly evade the police by simply not answering the door.

*raises hand*

I have learned from WS that if you don't answer the door, they cannot enter without a search warrant.

Criminals know this. Many every day folks know this also these days MOO

A girl friend who said he spoke of such was not enough for a search warrant MOO

Anthony Quinn Warner is said by neighbours to have been devoted to his dogs, and had even built a ramp at his home so that they wouldn’t have to use the stairs in their old age.

He told a friend that he was planning to go away with them for a few weeks over the holidays according to reports, leading investigators to examine if the pets were with him in the recreational vehicle at the time of the explosion.

MOO Must listen to MOO the audio at Link was just updated. 12:56 minutes of audio/video now vs. less than 2 minutes previously.. may add more in the next hour?

(from the tv station releasing all the 911 calls) long now as they released UPDATED VIDEO/AUDIO 2 minutes ago on the link about with more on their file. Whoa.... the first call about the gun shots.. wierd! Whoa. About 3 rounds of gunshots the caller said.

Another caller who was a woman at 5:20 am. She heard Gunshots. She heard 3 times and was 6 or 7 shots first. Then 30 minutes later, then more shots 20 minutes later. Then more shots again.

Chaos, confusion detailed in calls made to 911 before, after Nashville bombing | WKRN News 2

Oh my gosh, folks were saying they would look out the windows to see more in their 911 calls. Oh the anxiety of those that are calling..

The first officers we have seen with MSM arrived at later than 6 am.. although these calls were much earlier?

Reinforces to get folks first out of the facing apartments.

Much more now to add to a timeline, if someone here at WS is doing such.

Question: Why is WKRN showing residential cameras in suburbs during this feed?

I think the "weird sounding" 911 call was someone trying to be quiet because they believed a shooter was in the building. It was probably the guy who was interviewed on the street who said they actually barricaded their door at that time. That was true fear I heard. Breathless, trying to be quiet.

During the wait for details, online theories spread to fill the vacuum. It's a familiar pattern, said Geoff Dancy, a political science professor at Tulane University.

"Uncertainty is simply unacceptable to conspiracy theorists," said Dancy, who taught a course on conspiracy theories. "What conspiracy theorists offer is certainty and speed."
...
Dancy said public officials seeking to dampen the power of conspiracy theories should openly acknowledge uncertainty during emergencies and investigations.

"Stick to the evidence," Dancy said. "You have to be very honest about what you know and what you don't know."

Federal agents are investigating the possibility the attack might have been connected to a conspiracy claim the new 5G cellular network is related to the spread of COVID-19. That claim is false — scientists and medical professionals say COVID-19 is spread by infectious particles expelled when people breathe.

The 5G network is the latest generation of wireless technology. It allows users to download data at much faster rates, and has expanded across the country. There is evidence some telecommunication sites in Tennessee were vandalized earlier in the year because of 5G concerns.

Three Department of Safety emergency communication towers in East Tennessee were vandalized in 2020. Safety Commissioner Jeff Long linked that vandalism, and damage to cell towers in Memphis, to the 5G theory.
Tennessee Department of Safety spokesperson Wes Moster said the vandalism is still under investigation. He said the nature of the destruction to the Memphis towers, in particular, matched patterns in other states where 5G-related vandalism was reported.

"It is suspected that 5G conspiracy theories may have played a role because of similar activity in other states," Moster said.

I feel like “Subject’s former attorney believes he is making bombs in his RV” would be enough probable cause to get a search warrant to check??

An attorney making a complaint against a current or former client is serious. You have a duty to keep information learned from your client confidential. There are limited exceptions but most states don’t even require you to report actual criminal activity. You just can’t participate in it. The attorney-client privilege is supposed to be sacrosanct to insure candor in the relationship so parties can get the best advice.

If you narc on your client and you are wrong, you can face disciplinary action or a claim from your client for violating their confidentiality. I am shocked they wouldn’t have taken a complaint like this more seriously knowing what’s on the line for the attorney who made the report. JMO
Yes. At least they could have tracked him down and talked to him. Sounds like they knocked on his door and went away never to return when he didn’t answer.

There are no automatic taxes with quitclaim deeds. You have to voluntarily go to the IRS and say "Hello IRS, I made a gift bigger than my yearly gift allowance." Most people don't do this.

In this case, the first transfer was done specifically to avoid probate because it was transferred to someone other than the person who would receive it in probate. That is why someone sued AQW over it.

@Alethea , thanks. So if I have this straight... it's not an "alert" to the IRS like other monetary gifts may be where it "triggers" an alert as to a tax payment. It can be done "under cover" and not reported, although legally required? Unless someone "outs" them?

Am I understanding correctly.

Hmmmm. Hmmm. putting this one in my back pocket as I wonder how often is done to escape taxes as it's not an auto report to IRS unless they are contacted.

I had no idea. Wonder how often done if I'm understanding correctly.

I'm very surprised... shall we elderly folks consider doing such...?? Illegal and has to pay taxes if caught vs. waiting for probate.. but not often caught.

New to me.

Thanks

Police reportedly contacted the lawyer first (BBM):

Police said an officer with the bomb squad called Throckmorton days after the initial report and asked to search Warner's RV - because they believed Throckmorton still represented Warner.

Police claimed Throckmorton would not allow his client to consent to a search - but Throckmorton insists that is not true.

Anthony Warner's girlfriend warned police he was building bombs in his RV last year

Aaaahhhhhh! Thank you. Well, that is quite curious, isn't it.

minimization of casualties + suicide + vehicle-borne explosive device + lack of manifesto = unstable individual with an active fantasy life

A terrorist-like act committed by a non-terrorist.

Just my thoughts.
A manifesto/motive might emerge after some digging. Maybe the choice of target (communication infrastructure) is part of the message. He knew the type of damage he was causing.

AQW deceased father worked at BellSouth for years so maybe there was some anger that started against AT&T when they bought them out. Maybe there was some pension issues from that merger that may have screwed over his father and planted a seed of hatred towards AT&T???? His father working for BellSouth and him bombing the old BellSouth building (Now the AT&T building) can't just be a coincidence??

The place I used to live required dogs be registered (licensed). But it was a one time thing. There was a requirement to report when a dog died but I never heard of anyone actually doing that. Just because there is a law about something doesn't mean it is routinely complied with.

If they verified canine DNA I'm going to trust that it came from more than a few hairs. Very sad that he might have killed his dog. I like dogs.

You’re probably right that it was more than a few hairs but I figured I’d put it out there anyhow.

My city requires an annual license renewal. It looks like Nashville requires the same thing. So, if he actually did renew it every year, there will be some record of the dogs and maybe when they died. Or, if he got another dog after his elderly dogs died.

When officers arrived at Perry’s house, they found her on the porch with two pistols next to her that were not loaded. Officers said Perry told them the guns belonged to her boyfriend, ‘Tony’ Warner, and she did not want them at her house any longer. After speaking with the Mobile Crisis services over the phone, Perry was voluntarily taken by an ambulance for a psychological evaluation.

Nashville police records reveal previous complaint of Anthony Warner making bombs in RV | WPRI.com

It doesn’t sound like the girlfriend was suicidal or suffering from a mental breakdown but from a bad or dangerous relationship with AW. The fact that it was a voluntary evaluation and that she wasn't committed (from my understanding) makes it sound more routine. That’s just my inference though. The voluntary psych evaluation doesn’t necessarily speak to the GF being unhinged or anything.

“A psychological assessment can include numerous components such as norm-referenced psychological tests, informal tests and surveys, interview information, school or medical records, medical evaluation and observational data. A psychologist determines what information to use based on the specific questions being asked.” (from Understanding psychological testing and assessment)

The assessment may have simply been to determine if she was being honest about the bomb threats or to take care of her psychological well-being after the trauma of calling the cops etc.

This was not a simple case of the police just ignoring the report AQW was making bombs.

1) They went and talked to the girlfriend that reported it.

2) They went to AQW’s house and knocked on the door. He didn’t answer. They observed the RV in the backyard with wires hanging out and a multitude of security cameras and alarms around it.

3) They contacted a lawyer who knew AQW. Lawyer said AQW was capable of making bombs.

4) The police had FBI check their files on AQW. They had nothing.

5) The police had ATF check their files on AQW. They had nothing.

6) The police contacted the lawyer again about getting AQW to let them search the RV. The lawyer told them AQW didn’t like the police and would probably never consent to a search.

7) The police drop the whole inquiry.

8) AQW blows up a good piece of downtown Nashville.

So LE, unlike a lot of other cases we’ve talked about, stayed on this case fairly well. Where they dropped the ball was they didn’t get a search warrant to check out the RV. Not searching the RV simply because the subject doesn’t want you to, seems ridiculous. Of course he doesn’t want you to, but I would argue LE had probable cause...the girlfriend’s statement, the lawyer’s statement, and the observed wires etc coming from the RV.

So many times we hear about LE ignoring reports about people that end up doing these awful things. I’d like to hear some reports on how many times somebody’s report to LE has thwarted a major crime before it happened.

That is very informative. Thank you. It’s so easy to look back and say that it’s obvious that he was dangerous – and looking back it is obvious, but it’s not always that simple. I think it is problematic that they couldn’t search simply because AW didn’t let them in, though. A search of the RV could have prevented everything.

I’m still confused about the dogs. If the dogs were dead, then what dog(s) were with him when he died. It probably doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things but I can’t figure it out.

And the caller, Bri*n, was very intelligent in his call in that he stated calmly that the building was 4 stories tall with 4 units on each floor. And questioned how LE could get into the building (we now know that LE can access codes when they call into dispatch to find such codes)

What a presence of mind this caller had! Wow! Kudos!

This all began over one hour prior to explosion.

ETA: Was ANY of this captured in the downstairs area of LE feeds that we have in the basement starting at what we have learned is the first call arount 5:20 am... over an hour before the explosion? Or on reruns which many members of that threads do?

I've not seen any links or reference to such when so many of us were on that thread during the other recent bombings.(We followed for DAYS the chatter for the Boston Bomber)

If so, can someone throw up a link if allowed of the basement thread link for such as I'm not finding? TIA

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Federal investigators are looking into evidence the Antioch man who detonated a bomb in downtown Nashville Christmas morning had spent time hunting for alien life forms in a nearby state park and was interested in “lizard people,” according to law enforcement sources.

The sources told ABC News that Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, may have been motivated, at least in part, by “paranoia over 5G technology,” but that they also found writings that contained ramblings about assorted conspiracy theories, including the idea of shape-shifting reptilian creatures that appear in human form and attempt world domination.

Federal agencies are working to figure out if the beliefs somehow contributed to Warner detonating a bomb inside of an RV parked near Second Avenue North and Commerce Street around 6:30 a.m. Friday, killing himself, injuring three others and damaging more than 40 buildings."

Wow, interesting info... I guess they also couldn’t legally find out if he was ordering explosive chemicals, is that correct from a legal standpoint?
Wow!

People are angry when big brother is watching and when big brother is not.

Citizens have demanded privacy and necessary warrants. So this is what we get.

No ideas from me as to what can be done.

I wonder what info the gf had. Had she seen anything ir just heard him talk ?

Never heard of the reptilian conspiracy theory before the explosion. Did W think they lived in the area where the explosion happened, did he have all the cctv at his house to watch for them?
speculation.

''They are among us. Blood-drinking, flesh-eating, shape-shifting extraterrestrial reptilian humanoids with only one objective in their cold-blooded little heads: to enslave the human race. They are our leaders, our corporate executives, our beloved Oscar-winning actors and Grammy-winning singers, and they're responsible for the Holocaust, the Oklahoma City bombings and the 9/11 attacks ... at least according to former BBC sports reporter David Icke, who became the poster human for the theory in 1998 after publishing his first book, The Biggest Secret, which contained interviews with two Brits who claimed members of the royal family are nothing more than reptiles with crowns. (Picture Dracula meets Swamp Thing).

The conspiracy theorist and New Age philosopher, who wore only turquoise for a time and insisted on being called Son of God-Head, says these "Annunaki" (the reptiles) have controlled humankind since ancient times; they count among their number Queen Elizabeth, George W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, Bill and Hillary Clinton and Bob Hope. Encroaching on other conspiracy theorists' territory, Icke even claims that the lizards are behind secret societies like the Freemasons and the Illuminati. Since earning the dubious title of "paranoid of the decade" in the late 1990s, Icke has written several books on the topic, including his latest work, The David Icke Guide to the Global Conspiracy, while operating his own website — complete with merchandise and advertisements.''

FUTURE SHOCK: I’m David Icke and I certainly sweated when shape-shifting reptilian alien Prince Andrew almost gave The Biggest Secret away

The bombing revived a debate in the U.S. about which acts are labeled as terrorism and why. A former national security prosecutor and a Nashville city councilor said the bombing fit the definition of domestic terrorism. Federal investigators avoided using the term in the days following the bombing, the special agent in charge saying they had not yet established whether Warner had used violence to promote political or social beliefs.
2020 Nashville bombing - Wikipedia
Terrorism requires some sort of political basis for an act. If he targeted AT&T because he had a beef with them or their technology it would not fit the definition of terrorism. It's not just semantics. Insurance companies used to not cover acts of terrorism. After 9/11 a federal law was enacted requiringing coverage. So his motives make a difference to some victms (AT&T, surrounding businesses, etc.) regarding whether they can collect insurance.

I have some experience with this. Sometimes damage resultng from civil disobedience (protests, vandalism) is not covered. But intentional damage during a protest over something political is covered.
