GUILTY TN - SLP, 14, found alive, Madisonville, Monroe County, 13 Jan 2019 #6 *ARRESTS*

  • #261
Oh! Good points! I had forgotten he has a criminal record. Do we know this for sure? Also I don't know how I didn't think of that. Georgia would have to charge him with sexual abuse and rape of a child. Not TN. And who knows if they'll do that.
RP has criminal history in Monroe County, Jefferson County, Cocke County and Greene County for charges including rape, filing a false report, failure to appear, domestic assault, possession of a handgun. Arrests go back to 2001. I think the gun possession was dismissed.

Her sister? I hate to say it, I avoided this thread for the last few days- too much for me emotionally. Did something happen to her sister, too?
Not that we have been told. I didn't mean for it to sound that way. I was just saying that since they are both adopted, he could go after the sister to get to SLP.

I get each and every one of your points and posts, and these right here are exceptional points, no doubt about it. This man though could have risked far less and no federal charges to do the very same thing. He is in his 30s and unless I missed it has had no other charges ever that anyone has found. That is one thing that throws me I think, it just does not make sense. Were his intents good or bad? I seriously do not know.

There to date is no proof of any SA by him unless I missed it. There is mention made, but no proof. While I often am just the opposite and convict in my head long before a jury, I am not quite there yet here. OJ was guilty. Casey Anthony was guilty. Just examples where I have convicted but others did not. No problem.

I realize your response here was not directed towards me but I am one a bit in the middle yet as well. I keep saying I am unsure why and I very honestly am unsure why. I hear of a new science and it is about all we hear, no proof, etc. A poster finds info on it and it can be for up to two weeks, not just 3 to 5 days. No further charges come yet they said there may be at such and such a time and there was not. I just think there may be more we do not know i guess.

Whatever results, it would be nice if they listen to her and empower her. I do not care about either man if they did wrong or intended to then put them away and throw away the key. Maybe a part of it is just a naive hope that one did not. No idea why in this case I am taking a wait and see on the one.

Grrr... Not at you lol at myself... Or maybe it has something to do with something my granny always said... Which plays in as well and I am not going to share... It was very insightful however....

I agree with you "ilovechili" 100% on what you said. I need proof that his intentions with her were bad.

Thank you, I am glad I am not entirely on a solo planet with my view. Somewhat lonely at times . I have not let him off of any hook though either yet, just like you, need a bit more explanation/proof to sway totally one way or the other; it just does not square with me. I even put this case past somehow today who knows nothing about it for a different perspective. Shared the facts and that person was undecided as well. It just seems to me if he wanted the things people think he did, man there were other ways, no criminal history (that we know of), etc.

In Tennessee, a class B felony is punishable by eight to 30 years’ imprisonment, as well as a fine of up to $25,000. (Tenn. Ann. Code § 40-35-111.)

Penalty for a Violation Code 39-13-503 class B or level 2 felony may depend on whether the accused has any prior convictions, and whether there are any special circumstances surrounding the incident that led to the charge. Situations that commonly trigger enhancements, which can increase penalties, include:
  • use of a deadly weapon
  • sex crimes involving children or any crime involving a vulnerable or elderly victim
  • gang crimes, and
  • hate crimes.
I don't believe there will be any way RP will get an 8 year sentence nor do I think he will be out of jail before SP graduates. I hope he rots in prison personally.

I realize he (hopefully) will get the high end of the sentence, but I’m also just venting my frustrations with the current law - that 8 years would even be a possibility for something like this if he didn’t have a record.

For the people who need more proof of BR's intentions:

I've asked several times if it is proven that BR engaged in sexual acts with SP, will this change your opinions on whether his intentions were good or not? We already know he did bad and criminal acts, he's admitted to them himself and is facing those charges in Federal Court.

I guess I'm trying to understand that if we know he did these criminal acts involving the video/child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, transporting SP across state lines, etc. those are all okay as long as he didn't have physical contact?

I agree, it's pitiful, he's her 'father' and had SP been 13 at the time of the video he'd be facing stiffer sentencing. How is this even happening in today's society?

RP may very well have assaulted the sister too because he's a disgusting predator who preys on children. Just speculating at this point because it wouldn't surprise me if that turned out to be the case. MOO.

Also, if the allegations of sexual abuse by BR turns out to be true with compelling evidence could WI file statutory rape or sexual assault charges against him? I'm thinking they won't bother for now since he has federal charges but maybe at some point later? Gitana, what's your opinion??

Well riddle me this- KK is going to get away with a lot because she turned on PF and gave information about things she partook in to help kill Kelsey.

While I wish BR had done things differently, he got SP out of that miserable existence and helped her, has his name splashed all over the place in the news, social media, meanwhile, Mr. Randall Pruitt, the actual offender- nary a word in the press about him since his arrest and there's a gag order going on in his case.

Again, not condoning how BR handled this, but let's face it, without that video and him coming to get her and help her mail her letter and video to the FBI, she would probably be shot dead and skinned like her dog by her step father, or she may have killed herself.

It's so sad she had no one else that she could trust in her own world to help her. I think she knew that no matter who she told, even a friend, eventually she would have been forced back home with that monster. At least BR got her out of that situation, right or wrong.

Still waiting for the sexual assault charges on BR.
Thank you, this sums up exactly how I feel about this case. It's very possible that the rapist will get lesser time than the man who helped her escape. NOT condoning anything he may have committed against SLP but it is what it is.

With RP having abused SP from a very young age, how in the world is the mother innocent?

Can she be given a lie detector test?

Yes. I think all that, along with his illegal possession of firearms, and the letter SLP wrote detailing the years of abuse, should be enough to put him away for quite some time. I don't think they will let this go with a slap on the wrist.

Short answer: unsure. I think it may hinge on exactly what SLP tells/ has told them. It may also hinge on his history. His lawyer is going to try to prove intent, I think.

Here is another one that didn't make national news, at least I don't think it did. The child lived in Ga and I haven't heard about it.
I don't think there is a thread here unless I totally missed the whole story!

I'm not sure we've seen the TN affidavit which is weird, because the media has it - there's been reporting on it. I went through posts from Jan 31 through Feb 6 (threads 3 and 4), as well as the media thread and didn't find it. And generally, I download those pdf's because I know someday the news article with the pdf in it is going to disappear. I don't have it on my hard drive.

@oviedo, do you remember seeing the affidavit for RP?

MOO
Yes - it was published and that caused so much outrage because of the raw description of the FBI agent in viewing the video - let me see if I can find it.
ETA - I wonder if it was published just to the media and now since the gag order it was removed? I can only find BR's which described the crime which I was confusing with the RP warrant. I will keep looking.

How precious of him to save the poor child. What a humanitarian

Very quiet thread lately but i check in every so often. I still pray for SP and her siblings and like all probably, await further news and still wonder re all of the rest, including the mother's knowledge or lack of it...
