GUILTY TN - SLP, 14, found alive, Madisonville, Monroe County, 13 Jan 2019 #6 *ARRESTS*

  • #301
I have a friend who is an attorney, and at one point, many years ago, she said to me “You need to remember we have a LEGAL system in this country, not a JUSTICE system. In a court of law, it is about what you can prove. Never assume you will get justice in a court of law.” She is correct, unfortunately. Hence, the frustration we all feel.

Very wise words from your friend, and a great point.

With no news of additional arrests I can find, I wonder if they aren't pursuing this or there is not enough evidence? Hoping the children are in a safe and loving home. IMO

If you are referring to CP, I'm guessing that at this point they decided not to pursue it. However, I think there is sufficient doubt that will keep at least the two oldest from being returned into her custody. All just my speculation, though.

I was here last night snooping around, wondering where she was and hoping healing was happening :)

Just checking in. I thought maybe some other charge would result but apparently they are not looking at that or in no rush to do so if it is the case.

I hope SP and her siblings are safe and doing well.

Does anyone know if both men are still in jail? I would assume so or I would think we would have heard, however, media does not always seem to be up on everything these days...

Good question. And when are the next court dates?

I have so many cases and dates in my head I am not sure. 13th of May for RJP and 15 of July for the other guy it says about two pages back. Sounds right...

Grand Jury Returns Indictments

Madison Man Faces Additional Charges Related to Transporting Minor Across State Lines

"Bryan Rogers, 31, Madison, Wisconsin, is charged in a superseding indictment with production of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, making false statements to an FBI agent, and two counts of transporting a minor across state lines for an illegal sexual purpose."

ETA:

"The superseding indictment returned today adds two additional charges of transporting a minor in interstate commerce with the intent that the minor engage in sexual activity which would be a criminal offense under Wisconsin law, sexual assault of a child.

The new counts in the superseding indictment allege that on January 14, 2019, Rogers transported a minor from Tennessee to Wisconsin, and that on January 28, 2019, he transported the minor from Missouri to Wisconsin
."

So they are charging him with both trips. Makes sense IMO. If he was truly rescuing SLP, he would have taken her TO the FBI in Missori. Not just mailed in their 'package'.

MUCH more at link.

Rogers has been in custody since his arrest in January. His trial is scheduled to take place on July 15 in U.S. District Court in Madison.

If convicted, Rogers faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison on the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 charge, and five years in prison on the charge of lying to investigators. The two charges of transporting a minor across state lines for an illegal sexual purpose carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison.

It appears he is looking at a minimum (at this moment in time) of forty (40) years, to a possible maximum of life.

I did an edit on my post noting they are charging him with both trips to his home.

He just couldn't rescue this young girl. He had to be another predator. IMHO of course.

Thank you for the info.

Maybe there is hope the same is going on with RJP and her lifetime of abuse there.

Rogers will next appear in court May 10.

Still looking for May 10. The calendar shows his July 15 date is still in place (Jury Selection and Trial).

Oh you know it is! We just won't learn any details until his trial.

True. I was also referring to more charges being brought against RJP.

The more evidence they can collect (Any additional details, or recordings, that SLP can provide < Her life of horror has to cause RJP more jail time>; The remains of SLP's beloved pet <animal cruelty>) should be his complete downfall. I certainly hope so.
