There are so many questions I still have and wish that LE would do a news conference to give everyone an update. No matter what happened I just pray she is found alive.

You put a lot of thought into this ... and made me think ...
A stranger abduction would NOT have grabbed her phones - period. IMO. So that only leaves 2 scenarios IMO.

Unless in grabbing a purse, a backpack, or just Savannah having them on her person, led to the phones going for the ride. Perplexed.

We are all right there with you on that!

Same here, but we don't know in this case. I have wondered if since they moved in the middle of the school year if homeschooling was just temporary. Of course, some parents do homeschooling as a way to control their children or to keep them out of particular social environments. Of course there could be other reasons as well.
I'm a teacher and I would never have felt comfortable teaching my kids at home. I'm only proficient in one subject and it would be especially difficult when it comes to middle school and high school when teachers specialize in subjects...Just the way I feel. I know there are many who prefer it though.

Public school can also be a haven of bad influences, bullying, peer pressure. These are some of the reasons I hear for home schooling.

Thanks. It comes from reading all of the pages over two days and trying to remember what I came to with all of the info stuffed into me lol. That is what I come down to also, about two scenarios (with some possible variations in each).

I think someone made a good point when they said that, if something really was "off" that night with the parents, the other kids would have noticed something. They were likely questioned, and they probably knew if mom and dad were both home when they woke up (giving either parent very little time to go take the phones out of state if something actually did happen in the home), if dad was out of town, etc. - let alone hearing something.

I hope people know that I was implying that it was unlikely that the parents had anything to do with it...one of the other kids certainly would have noticed something. Things are still odd; I think we are missing a lot of information due to LE remaining quiet, which is causing people to speculate about the parents, but I do think it is unlikely.

As much as shoes cost, especially tennis shoes.. or boots ... I would expect her mother to know exactly what shoes are missing and to have some idea what clothes were missing. Maybe not immediately but after two weeks, I could tell you what clothing items were missing because I buy them.
I guess I was assuming that they immediately reported that shoes were missing...it seems that the details about sheets, clothes,
Sheets are often used to descend from a window when sneaking out. Tie them together and voilà, a rope. My brothers used to do this on me when I was babysitting and I never knew they were out of the house.

Was the window high enough off the ground that she would have needed a way down?
I was wondering this too, but how would she get the sheet out of the window after getting down? Maybe a sibling helped? That's the only thing I can think of...

I still do not see a stranger perp doing that or allowing her to grab something unless he paid no attention. And two cell phones and clothing...? Unless they mean the clothing she was wearing. And I do understand that there is doubt about the sheets and clothing as only one outlet seems to have reported on it...

I just think with the fact it was a recent move far from her former home and friends, and not even the chance of going to school to see others her age but about to be home schooled, with no one her age, not 100 percent but the best scenario to me is someone came for her or she ran away, in either case willingly although she may have been somewhat unaware of what she might be getting into. I hope she did not "hitch" a ride so to speak.

They could very well suspect that but they aren’t telling us that ... the last ping seems to say that is exactly what happened.
I keep going by their expressions - deep pain in Dads eye - maybe he’s feeling betrayed by a trucking friend? This would explain what I perceive as Mom’s anger - (hard set to jaw) as well. Betrayal by someone they knew but LE insisting they remain quiet while investigating???
BBM
this is what i am thinking as well but after Jayme, who can even predict what may have happened? I remember all of the early speculation in that case and very few had the correct outcome IMO.

When I used to sneak out, walking through the house and opening doors made noise. So it may have been less noisy to go out the window.
Wow - wouldn't even have thought of that - but then I did not need to sneak out..our rule was freedom until proven otherwise.

If you look at Zillow, there was a link some pages back, it showed one or some of the bedrooms and windows and in at least one bedroom if not more, it was a big window, close to floor level on the bottom, no rope/sheet needed. I also believe it was one story. Someone else may be able to add more on that. I looked at it some number of pages back.

Just read most recent report...still says "no reason to believe that she is in danger"! What don't we know? What other 14-year-old isn't heard from for weeks and is assumed to be safe? Has anyone ever heard of something like this before?

I wish the parents would be interviewed by NG. She would likely get some answers to our questions. Moo

The only reason I can think of for saying that is they have a pretty good idea either where she is or who she is with but not where... It is odd though, even with Jayme, they made it clear she was "endangered" but in that case, the parents had been killed so it was clear the perp would and had killed. Is it the new thing to not push any buttons of anyone involved possibly...? The bigger the case gets and the more serious words used what may have started as some juvenile runaway romance scenario (or even friends) all of a sudden gets bigger than they can figure out how to get themselves out of and they worry what they may do...? Just thoughts...

ETA: Meaning the possibility in this case. Not the other. That was a stranger. But until they are sure, is that the common practice now perhaps...

Exactly! The ambiguity appears to be a new way to not (possibly) push the players (for lack of a valid term, like perp) into doing anything rash. Keep everyone calm, with no threats of discovery.

Our LE has a very often thankless job. They are the experts, out there on the field. And we are the spectators, on the sidelines. Watching, and impatiently waiting, for the next 'big' play. We want to help. We try to help. I think we sometimes just get in their way.

We have a missing 14 year old girl. A young woman, really. She is missing. Her parents, siblings, and friends, all want her to be safe. Returning home might be her choice. If we do not believe she is endangered. All IMO JMO MHO

Are we allowed to post a new missing flyer from parents’ FB page?
No, please see Harmony2's post below:
ADMIN NOTE:
Apparently a review of our rules is in order for some of our members : Etiquette & Information forum, and the Rules Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, etc.

  • Rumors and gossip are NOT allowed on WS. If you read it on Facebook, leave it on Facebook. Do not bring over posts made by family of the victim on their social media.
  • WS holds to a "victim friendly" policy, so this applies even more strongly to family members, particularly parents, who in most cases are innocent, and suffering terribly when their loved one is missing. The last thing we want to do is add to their pain. Therefore, they always are granted the benefit of the doubt. Sleuthing family members, friends, and others who have not been designated as suspects is not allowed. Don't make random accusations, suggest their involvement, nor bash and attack them. You may discuss what the parents or family have stated in mainstream media.
  • When you state something as "fact", you must back it up with a link to an approved source. Stating you read it somewhere without providing a link, to an approved source, will result in removal of the post. If you can't link it, you can't post it.
  • Do not quote a post that is clearly against TOS.

The thread is open again.
