Thank you, you made me chuckle out loud picturing it. I do not disagree it is not possible, just that it would be graceful or noisy or that a perp plotting a serious crime would go in and out like that very easily.

I am still chuckling :D

we would forget or lose our key and the only window was a basement one. and i don't mean egress sized. i mean those little ones... it was quite the experience as well... as a kid. feet first recommended in that scenario...

My kids and wife would have no idea how to remove the screens in our house, very similar to those.

It's SO easy and could be figured out quickly... we have the same type of screens and all that needs to be done is to grasp the tabs with your fingertips, lift just a tad, and push outward. Voila, the screen will come right out... SO easy to figure out, even if you've never seen a screen of this type. MOO. IMHO.

Add in that my father usually had a half-full spittoon on that furniture and laugh a little harder.....;):D:p

Could the screen have been cut in a prior attempt or even before they bought the house? It just seems odd to me - rather childish IMO. If this was the method of entry/exit I would think they would just remove the screen? Now I am going to have to go look at my screens to see if any are cut/ajar/etc.

I am laughing out loud, no doubt about it. i should add in my basement window comment as well before someone thinks we were young children, we were 13, 14, two of us. "do you have your key". "no" "do you have yours?" "nope can't find it". "you are going through the basement window" "no, it is your turn". wow... a spitoon though.... i truly am chuckling...

ETA: To relate this, such things are why I do not think in general people go through windows or screens by choice, NOT that it has never happened with a perp but in this case, I just do not see it with the little we know or have seen.

Still chuckling here and I needed one with these serious cases. To not get too sidetracked or get in trouble, why would someone not cut the entire screen like along the edges...? It just does not make sense to me. To me it seems like someone a bit naive in staging a crime... I certainly could be wrong and my hope is she is safe so maybe I tend towards thoughts like that...

Hi, everyone. Another very tough case, just when we got little Jayme home. I am just wondering, do you guys think a 14 year old girl could voluntarily stay out of touch with her family for over three weeks? I don't think I could at age l4, but I was very close to my parents and my sibling. And, what about her beloved animals. I know when I am away from home, I miss my animals more than anything. Could she willing go, not knowing if anyone was caring for her animals. It is hard to imagine how a perp got this young girl, but it is also hard to imagine her leaving willingly. Where would she go? Does she have relatives who would keep her and not tell? I can't imagine that, either. And if friends parents are harboring her, they would be in trouble, also. And, what kind of person would do that. I am not sure where my head is at with this one. I only hope she is found very soon. Wouldn't she call home, if she is able? She has to know everyone is looking for her. I think you have to be a rather hardened young person, to ignore all that, and not get in touch with someone if you could, and she seems to be a very innocent young girl. Anyway, MOO. Only pray to God she is found very, very soon. Thanks, all. Katt

Detective Jason Fillyaw with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said he doesn’t think the teen wanted to run away, but he also doesn’t think she met someone online who wanted to abduct her.

“There has been nothing in any of that reporting that led us to believe that she intended to run away or was speaking with anybody that would try to abduct her,” Fillyaw said.
UPDATE: FBI says male suspect detained in missing Savannah Leigh Pruitt case likely not connected to missing girl [Report]

Can this only mean she didn’t want to runaway but acquiesced with the demand of a person known to her, as in not not her “idea”, but his/hers?

Agreed on all points. I am following another difficult case that is very close to home for me. A release is necessary sometimes.

The screen does not make sense to me, either. Neither do the phones. I am left scratching my head on this one, but one thing I know for sure is that these cases are increasingly like this. by that I mean not straight forward or predictable. Whether this girl was forcibly or abducted or lured from her home under false pretenses, my gut feeling is that she is not away from her home, family & animals by choice.

I can identify with your comments. I have to remind myself though that I am amazed if I hear of a 12 year old with a serious bf or dating. That is NOT meant at this girl just what a world they live in or are exposed to sometimes with school, online, etc. Whether they are more adult than we felt we were at that age (i am older) or they really are is hard to say. I agree that any relative harboring, etc. that is an adult and would be looking for a way to say, hey I was just trying to help, I had no idea this would result from it.... Someone younger and her, they may not know how to get out of it? This is my hope anyhow... Maybe old enough to have a job but not old enough to know how to get out of this scrape...?

The longer it goes though, the more it seems like it may be someone that "groomed" her as someone said earlier...

All jmo.

Prayers for a good outcome.

Many of our screens are already cut, but only in the corners so you can reach the (whatever-you-call-them) releases? to lift the screen up. We've had to do that many times through the various windows in the house. Seems we all have experienced the heads-in first over the metal frame/don't have my key to get in situations. Not comfortable at all! And definitely not quiet.

This screen appears to be cut in the middle so no sense out of that, to me anyway..yet. Still pondering. Could be the window was like that when they bought the house. If we ever sell and anyone buys our house, they will have pre-cut screens. Just saying.

Yes, agree, us old kids can say it is no easy quiet entry generally. Maybe if they cut an entire screen from a patio door or some such. Then just walk in.

The only thing I could think of with the middle cut is you can reach in and turn maybe the center knob on some windows to unlock the window. Even considering that, it does not get someone in through the window though... It is part of why it seems staged to me, or it allows one to maybe open the window, wake her and say I am here, come on out (even through the front door)....

I do not know. Just speculating...

I absolutely think this is where this case is going. She didn’t want to run away, she ageed to go with someone to keep them happy. This wasn’t a premeditated act on Savannah’s part.

Have we heard what happened in the hours before Savannah went missing? We’re they gone for the day? In the house all day? Was dinner the same as every other day? Who did the parents have contact with that could be wanting to cause trouble for them? And for funsies - I wonder if anyone has asked for ransom and LE hasn’t reported it?

Hi Jethro,

Why would it have to be after midnight if she was last seen at 11? Tia.
Because when you look at the member list of the group it says for the one individual that Savannah added that person to the group on January 14th (I see that and I am in the same time zone as her) - which was Monday the day she disappeared. She had gone to bed on January 13th at 11pm. So if that person was added on the 14th like Facebook claims it had to be after midnight.

If you are in a different time zone than Eastern time and it shows for you that Savannah added that same person on January 13th then we can narrow the time further. For example if for you it shows January 13th and you are in the Mountain time zone then we know that the member was added by Savannah prior to 2:00 am (eastern time) but if it shows the 14th then it had to be after 2:00am (eastern time).

As previously mentioned, I think “grooming” played a part.
I also think the recent move devastated someone that was accustomed to having access to S & the move rocked his world. Jmo

That chore list reminds me so much of my daughter. We also have mostly white chargers, those are generally the ones that come with apple products.

Jethro, I'm in Moutain like Marg and it says January 14th for me. I checked last night hoping to narrow it down.

I was basing it on the assumption that her phone pinged around the same time her family discovered her missing, and that therefore they attempted to contact her, thus causing the phones to ping.

Interesting that articles have said they both pinged. So either the phones have the same number and both rang at the same time, or someone tried both numbers. JMO

If I found my child gone in the morning I would try every method to contact her. I'd definitely call both phones, text her, message her on facebook, or any other platform I could think of. If they only called each phone once I'll be impressed. I would think they immediately suspected someone specifically if that's the case.

Otherwise you have to believe that the FBI was following some random guy with a dozen agents.

It doesn't have to be a random guy. There could be someone that they were seriously looking at because he's somehow known to the family. Then after finding him they determined he wasn't involved. So it would be related to her case, but he would be determined not to be connected.

I think this can mean that they know someone who might try to abduct her, but don't believe she was speaking to them. If it was someone known to her that had made threats, it might fit. Not exactly going with them to make them happy, but to protect someone else.

They could cut the screen to open it and get her attention. Tell her that he will kill her family if she makes any noise. Polly Klaas was abducted from her bedroom during a slumber party while everyone was awake. He entered a house with multiple other people awake in it to take her.

Hopefully this is the case so they have some sort of idea who has her. It also would explain why family said they thought she ran away. If threats were made, they might see it as she went willingly to protect her family. Still an abduction but obviously everyone refers to situations differently and everyone speaks differently.

Hi....getting ready to leave before reading everything. I did want to say that there is a time change in the middle of Kentucky. Here is a link of that information: Kentucky Time Zones Map -- Timebie
