It doesn't matter right now what DW did or didn't do, other than how it relates to Summer. I think people's dislike of the parents affects the search for Summer. If DW really did SA to anyone it is beyond horrible. But his wee little girl is missing and we need to focus on that not Mom and Dad, beyond what they may have done to cause her to go missing. Is this why none of the church people seem to be helping them, because of the families lifestyle? And some of the interviewers continue to ask them about past behavior and not focus on why Summer is gone. MOO. Katt

I just meant that as we’re trying to figure out a timeline, it’s possible that the planting happened but didn’t happen that day. That would matter because we don’t really know for a FACT whether Summer made it home that day or what condition she was in. If she wasn’t in a condition where she was able to plant flowers, or if she didn’t come home after the swimming hole or A’s house, then that would be relevant.

The timeline falls apart with dramatically different stories H and CW told to CM about what happened at the swimming hole. JMO

IF one of the main players was not completely truthful, (and we have no way of knowing that), they might be covering for someone else…close to them, or closely connected who might implicate them in something related. (Other than the spouse).

Well yeah, we have a way of knowing that from head spinning DW interviews. ie Red truck at base of driveway June 15, with disheveled woman, and bottomed out on berm. Polite policeman saying Mr. Wells.

Timestamp 37:00 Dr. Amy discusses "Familial Trafficking", ie within the family. Rife in Eastern Tennessee, and 65% of the time it is done by the female parent.

54:00 Dr. Amy discusses the "Family Bed" and how it is approached. The baby, child, does not sleep between the father and mother, and the practice is short lived, does not carry on for months and years. More at link.

I've given the "family bed" a lot of thought. Do we know that Summer slept between DW and CW or could she have even slept on the outside of the bed next to DW? Really concerns me either way but the way he stated that she bonded with him and wanted to be near him, it would not surprise me if she was sleeping beside him and he was sleeping in the middle. JMO

I’ll trust you on what is logical for succulents as I’ve destroyed plenty. What if they were just bad/inexperienced gardeners? If you’re suggesting they didn’t actually plant anything, why would they say they did? It just seems like an odd thing to lie about IMO. (I’m putting aside the outfit for a moment, because that does seem odd.). I don’t know. Is it as simple as “gardening” sounds like a wholesome activity?

This whole timeline/scenario would have been a lot more believable if CW was not trying to be mother of the year by walking her 5-year-old daughter to the door on her own property she often ran freely about, and then was only otherwise occupied for 2-5 minutes. She locked herself into a timeline that <modsnip - opinion stated as fact>. If CW had said, "my mom and I were planting flowers and chatting and Summer went inside.... a half hour later I went in...." -- that would be a tad more believable! I wonder why she chose such a ridiculous timeline.

Aside from it being a brand new school outfit, I can’t see her spending the afternoon outside in long pants. The heat and humidity would have made her very uncomfortable.

It is odd though how detailed the gardening story was when everything else was so foggy and subject to change.

I also find it odd. School for Summer was still two months away. It makes no sense to put the new outfit on her and then drive home so she could play in the dirt. <modsnip> The timeline seems very contrived. JMO

I don’t think “lifestyle” is really the right word for someone who has sexually assaulted a child. We don’t want to judge the Wells family and we also don’t know why any of the people in the community may or may not be helping. What if people offered help and were declined? We have no idea.

DW told CM that Summer slept between them. I don't have the transcript open so I can't remember exactly when he said it but CM had asked him to describe how the day had begun. JMO

Sometimes past behavior can predict present behavior, IMO. That’s probably why people ask. I think it’s because people want to find Summer.

I take your point. But also, people on this website have repeatedly stated that they don’t know if the family is involved in Summer’s disappearance, IMO. I’ve read that statement many times. The nature of the discussion seems to lend itself to talking about the statements given publicly. We discussed H/A and they aren’t family. The family is responsible for their own actions at this point in time, IMO. They may or may not be involved. We have no idea. They’ve given contradictory statements and ignoring that is also a disservice to finding Summer, IMO.

When I watched the John Kelly video (only through 2 of the 4) what stood out to me was that he said there are allegations of communications of a sexual nature between H and CW. I honestly don’t know what to make of that. It was a new piece of the dynamic of the day Summer went missing for me but I don’t know if it fits or how much faith to put on that since it sounded like he said some of that came from SM.

It may very well be true but that’s a social media rumor. Not something that he should have repeated without a verified source in my opinion.

LOL, I can buy a healthy succulent and the next day it will look like a black, dried up spider.

I've been a victim of DV and never one was CPS called in for that. It wasn't severe, But enough for LE to get involved. When I tried to use this violence against me, which occurred in the presence of my toddler, to get a restraining order for both my child and I, I was told that since the child was not a victim of the actual physical abuse, they would not keep his father from seeing him.

This is in Missouri and nearly 20 years ago, but that is my personal experience.

DV with LE involved doesn't always lead to CPS involvement. Even when LE is involved, it doesn't mean a judge will agree that the children are at risk.

My conclusion--based on what we've learned so far-- is that the reason she was wearing the outfit is because her mother knew it was the last time she would see her. The timeline seems very contrived. JMO

I don't necessarily agree with that last bit, but I have always thought it was extremely bizarre that she already had new school clothes months before school started. Kids at that age can have huge growth spurts and might not fit into the same size even 2 months apart. Furthermore, it's still HOT when school starts, so an outfit for autumn weather makes no sense, unless Summer just had to have it (which is very possible).

Arrested on domestic related charges
Donald Wells, 56, was arrested at his home on Oct. 14, 2020, and charged with domestic assault, possession of a handgun while intoxicated and unlawful possession of a weapon after he reportedly came home intoxicated and found a male at home with his wife.

It is odd that the gardening story is the only event that was detailed that day. I think it would be strange for SW to stay in her new school outfit to garden and play plus it was too hot to wear long pants and a jacket.

I have almost come to believe that SW did not make it home that day.
Or if she did someone knew what time to be there, they were told ahead of time.

CW could have just walked to the porch area and told the boys to watch her without the boys even looking up from the TV or the video game.
Or maybe the boys weren't home, they went to work with DW.

I think DW was not at work all day. He could have left work and took the boys home then returned to work. So the boys may not have been home when CW & CH returned from errands.
Or it was a bad day with his coworker, since his days are mixed up, and DW took him to his vehicle that was left on his property. Then returned to the job site to clean up.

From the very beginning DW said 'she is not around here, she is far away."
