I don't really know much about tiktok, but on youtube you can do a search for a subject and sometimes get small channels. But, i have never been on TikTok.
I'm not a member of TikTok but I went there and was only able to search accounts, not keywords like "cute blonde child in Tennessee" or anything like that. Thank goodness!

I was watching and I just noticed what CM said to CW beside of Grandmas camper about the toys in the planters.

Didn't he say something in a very calm quiet voice, like don't ever move the toys, you know, like to leave them there where Summer put them?

Why am I watching this again and not hearing that?

I totally agree. People can change their minds on a whim. But taken in totality, it’s pretty hard for me to think this was just a typical day. Nobody’s story matches, IMO. Timelines don’t match. We have CW calling a family friend randomly who she had not had contact with for a while. They were going fishing. Or swimming. Or to a water park. DW was at work or not at work. NOBODY says where these boys are throughout the day. They were home or at work with DW or piled into the car (but nobody included them in the retelling of events). CH’s knee hurt so much she needed to go to the ER at 8am but didn’t hurt enough to stop her doing anything the rest of the day.

The dogs were there. Or not there. Or there but followed Summer. Or found someone in the woods and decided to go mute that day. DW came home at 5:30. Or 6:30. He drove to the shed. Or the other shed. Or straight to the driveway. He knew right away she was far far away. Or close by.

Summer went missing at 5:30. Or 6:30.
Summer got dressed in clothes then changed into her bathing suit. Or Summer just put on her bathing suit because it was so hot that day. Or it wasn’t that hot Bc Summer was wearing long pants and a jacket. Over her bathing suit. Or not wearing a bathing suit.

All of these things individually are completely plausible, IMO. All these things taken together makes one big mess, also IMO.

This post required more than just a like! Thank you for laying out the inconsistencies so clearly.

This helps frame it up. Great report. Page 13 - "Summarizing the legal issues" really illustrates the challenges

Roses
And one more, which summarizes the Supreme Court ruling on this topic.
However, I can guarantee you that the laws significantly lag behind the technology, and this will be ongoing.....
Supreme Court rules that police generally need a warrant to access cell phone data

But weren’t they messaging? So he was driving, speeding, and messaging. And she was driving around and looking for her but also FB messaging. Unless they were calling each other on FB messenger? I would think it would make more sense if they were actually on the phone together, but I’m pretty sure he said they were messaging.

In line with the tech discussion we are having: If DW relayed the FB messenger conversation during his drive home to LE, they should be able to verify that either on the phone history when he provided them the phone or via a subpoena to FB. JMO

Why not release the calls? This was from two months ago:

"News Channel 11 requested the 911 phone calls from June 15, the night Summer Wells was reported missing.

Lynn Campbell, Executive Director of the Hawkins County Emergency Communications District, said the calls could not be released as of Wednesday."

LISTEN: Emergency scanner traffic from night Summer Wells went missing, 911 calls not released | WJHL | Tri-Cities News & Weather
Since TN is a state that typically allows access to 911 calls (3. 911 tapes Archives - The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press), it seems like something specific to the case. Speculating: something that may contradict a timeline, involves a minor, could affect a potential criminal case. I’m not sure would else would warrant the withholding. IMO

Right, you can definitely tell who some of the less candid dealers are… but to then approach the dealer’s property, who likely has weapons, and ask them if they’ve heard of anyone selling your child? Infer someone they know might have stolen your child? o_O
Nope

Yes, it is a sensitive topic for tech providers. From what I have read so far it sounds like it is most important that LE is able to be specific about what it is they are requesting and why, or the process can go back and forth which drags out the time line.
I see that Google has launched a transparency report they update every 6 months. On average it appears that apx 80-85% of the time they provide some of the requested data for subpoena’s and search warrants. It also looks like they only deliver on “emergency requests” 69-70% of the time. (I filtered for US)
Google Transparency Report
Great research! To add to your excellent points, note the paper I posted. It called out one of the bigger problems that will ultimately be solved by the millineals. There isn't enough tech expertise to keep up with the latest and greatest, and LE is so thinly staffed to begin with. As time goes by, I speculate we will see LE resources shift more and more from "feet on the street" to "tech-butts in chairs". Drones will be able to do much of the footwork, and the desk analysts will do the rest.

To illustrate this point, a fun fact! Remember William Hung from American Idol fame? He became a data analyst for L.A. County, and uses predictive modeling to determine where crimes will occur, which determines where squad cars are deployed, ready for action. Cool stuff, and just the beginning of where this is going.

You got me going Tiff! Crawling back in to my tech-nerd cave... : )

I don't have a lot of apps on my phone, but i am bad to forget passwords. I am also bad to look at completely random things that have zero relevance to my life. I am bad to do things very inconsistently.

If someone were to go through my phone, well... It would probably be a waste of time. Now and then i look up information about places near me before i go there. But, usually I don't go after all.

My contacts do not indicate people who i really know or people i had to call once because reasons. Nothing is organized.

Sitting here looking at my phone i guess i can see why it would take months to find anything useful on it for anyone other than myself.

Now imagine how much worse it would be if i was randomly using a bunch of trendy SM apps. Or if i had kids i let amuse themselves on my phone. (Not sure anyone on this case does that, but it is possible.)

It’s at the about the 16:08 mark in the video or a few seconds before that … in the Part 2 Interview with CW …

Peeking out of the nerd cave again....

"...A search warrant issued under the procedures described in the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure or equivalent state warrant procedures upon a showing of probable cause is required to compel the disclosure of the stored contents of any account, which may include messages, photos, videos, timeline posts, and location information.."

I think that DW said the family agreed to turn over their cell phones, but I’m not sure how that works legally. I started looking from the other end and there is a section here on probable cause for digital devices:

Probable Cause

Riley v. California - SCOTUSblog
Even if they turn over their cell phone, LE still needs warrants to get all of the records from the provider. There are sometimes things in those records that aren't on the cells anymore.
And if they spoke to each other on what's/app, there wouldn't be any thing left for LE to see. Or on snap chat also. It would be gone already.

Ahh thank you.
IMO.... He seemed VERY sincere in this statement. He seemed very somber, it was hitting home with him big time.

Oh my!!! I am sure you were so relieved once you found her.

Here is my question:
So, IF Candus did the same and was yelling and screaming and Don says he was on the phone with Candus the whole way back, do you think he just laid his phone on the seat as to not hear her constantly yelling?

I am just curious how that would have worked out.

IMO, JMO....I wouldn't be bothered by holding a conversation with anyone except LE at that point in time.

Yes totally agree, I actually felt extremely sad for Summer at that moment….. to me it was like Summer was trying to make a “fairy garden” …. That most 5 year old’s love to do…. With using the rocks etc… but Summer had no fairies so used other little toys instead…

All IMO

He might have plugged a USB cable into the car's USB port. The car's infotainment system would allow him to play the cell phones audio through the car speakers. A lot of people who are on the road frequently do this. Very simple to set up.

I just googled dance videos. Now, that brings up quite a variety. I am getting mostly professional dancers.

But, it is pretty easy to train google. If i only wanted ballet dancers it wouldn't take long before i got mostly that. So, another type of person might train google another way. Some of the videos said they were on tiktok.
