There is a song posted on the Wells site, written by RL for SW and all missing children -

The driveway leading to the house has almost eroded away. As you trek up the hill toward the home, forgotten toys covered in grass and vines line the dirt road.

Near the top of the hill, you step on the carcass of a partially buried doll. Then you see the house; part of it is covered in yellow siding while the rest is exposed plywood. The yard is full of old vehicles and miscellaneous items.
...
The CHRS is also the agency in charge of the Summer Wells Reward Fund. The last total reported by the Times News was $40,423.81. The squad plans to release an update about the reward in a few days.
...
The Hawkins County Humane Society said that Candus Wells, Summer’s mother, surrendered seven dogs to the shelter and one cat. The first set of animals was surrendered in December, while the rest came in May.

Such a sad case.

C&C investigations have focused their efforts on searching for Summer since last July.

The private investigators typically do a search like the one Saturday once a month in the area surrounding the Wells’ Ben Hill road home. They plan to continue until she is found.
I was surprised to read in the article that Chris Colbough of C&C Investigations reported that LE thinks an animal could have attacked Summer:

“[Law Enforcement] feel strongly that there could have been an animal attack. They have not ruled anything out…

I don't recall reading anything like that elsewhere so far in following the case. IMO it's an unusual belief especially since LE has also repeatedly stated that there's no evidence of an abduction. Is it possible LE has some evidence of an animal attack? Why not share it with the public?

Moo..they do have feral dogs hanging around their place....that could be a possibility....moo

If there had been an animal attack it seems like there would have been some evidence left behind.

I seriously doubt that any four-legged animal was involved in Summer's disappearance.

In that same news report the reporter states that Summer is around 4 ft. tall. Take out a tape measure and look at how tall that would be. Extremely tall for a 5 year old, and in all the photos and videos I've seen Summer does not look that tall. Rather sloppy reporting MOO.

'A Year Without Summer'
The Rogersville Review

Both Candus and Don have maintained since the beginning that they believe Summer was abducted.

A detailed timeline of all known information surrounding the Wells case is also included in the June 15 edition of the Review.

Thanks for this. This one has Summer as being 3 feet tall, which sounds about right. I wish the other news channel would correct their continuing statement that Summer was 4 feet tall. No fact checking, I guess. IMO

So creepy to read about a partially-buried doll now. Was this there all along? I suppose a domestic animal could have caused harm to Summer. I hope not.

SW's favorite dog is adopted -

People from across the country were willing to drive to Rogersville to adopt Yucky.

Eh, if you poked around my yard you’d likely find “carcasses” of “partially buried” sippy cups, blocks, and probably a headless Barbie. I have to prep our yard weekly for our lawn service and I’m always finding random things. It’s what little kids do. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

I've not been here in months but am saddened to acknowledge Summer missing one year tomorrow on 6/15. :(

The search continues in the Beech Creek area, one year later.

Authorities are still considering all options in what happened to SW.

This was just posted on the Wells website -

Request to the Tennessee Legislature:
1. Protect Amber Alert Families.
2. Make it illegal to play private phone calls on social media without all parties permission or consent.

"Approved by Donald Wesley Wells, Father of Daughter Summer Wells "

From what I remember, DW was aware his phone conversations were being recorded and some were live. He even called into some YT live videos.

You remember correctly; both he and his wife appeared on numerous YT creators' channels, often calling in during live broadcasts.

I can understand how DW (and CB) may now regret some of those calls but each state already has specific laws in place regarding the recording of conversations. Tennessee is in fact is a "one party" consent state, meaning only one party needs to consent to the recording. It is also lawful to record electronic communications that are easily available to the public.

I'm not clear on the Wells' intent; are they asking to change the current law? I can't think of a single incident other than Summer's case where the parents of a missing child actively participated with YT creators over nearly a year then became upset that their communications were made public.

It seems like the Wells family wants to enact new laws because they regret speaking out publicly. IMO such a law wouldn't have stopped either from choosing to contact people on YT - that's not how laws work. MOO.

Maybe they are referring to the phone call late at night with a family member.
