“We try to bounce things off of each other all the time. We might have talks about some of the drug activity that was going on at the time and was going on right after her disappearance for quite a while,” Wells said. “But yeah, there’s nothing new.”

He [DW] says they haven’t been able to talk to their sons.

“At first we were allowed to talk to them and everything but what we haven’t been able to talk to them for about six months. I'm not sure what to think...I don't know of any Child Protective Services plan, where the goal is still reunification, but parents are not allowed ANY contact with the children and haven't been for the last 6 months. Is it possible the goal has changed to severance of parental rights and DW and CW either don't comprehend that or are in denial? Because the writing is on the wall, here.

If reunification was ever on the table, it changed pretty quickly. At first they were making changes on the home but it was super obivous they weren't doing the crucial work on themselves in order to get the kids back.

I think of little miss summer often and cringe, such a heartbreaking case and I grieve for everyone in her family, no matter what happened. Their lives are in shambles and I can only hope those boys are now in a stable home that lets them thrive. Hugs to her hurting community and prayers for justice, or at least answers.

However I think that guy could say something like, "My daughter is so beautiful and I miss her so much" and he would still get eaten alive. He can't do anything right for some folks.

She nails it regarding the ill treatment they have received.
They lost a child.

Imperfect people lose children too.

I'm not comfortable with discussions of sealed CPS proceedings or speculating on them.

If I try walking in their shoes i doubt I'd take my head out of a bottle for long enough to breathe very often.
Or whatever.

I wish Summer could be found alive but I know it's probably unrealistic.

I wish someone would talk or let slip knowledge leading to her location.

I stick to my theory that earthly remains will be found very close to the house. Summer was such a tiny little thing she could have slipped down between rocks or down a ravine and quickly hidden by nature. Searching that area is a very, very difficult task. It would be good to hear of more searches looking past primary surfaces, where a tiny little girl would have slipped down to. As Ive mentioned upthread, drop cams would be very useful in this scenario.

I still believe she will be found, but the timing unknown.
Wherever the boys are, I hope they are allowed to see each other, although I'm doubtful.

And yes, as many of you have pointed out, regardless of their transgressions, no one wishes the fathomless pain of losing one's children upon any parents. A terrible tragedy.

The Sheriff has said nobody has been ruled out as a suspect and he promised an update on the case, soon.
I hope all the children are safe, healthy and happy.
