I'm trying to understand the riverboat leaving at 11:30pm, on a Sunday to boot! What are people looking at? I obviously need to read and reread!
It does seem really late, but it wasn't Sunday night -- it was Saturday night -- and that makes more sense (though still late to begin a ride.)

They used to have what was known as the "MIDNITE BOOZE CRUISE" that took you out for a couple of hours but I'm not sure it's still available and I am off to work or I would look it up... sorry.

Memphis Riverboats' page with the boats is here, though IMO there's so much fluff there it's useless:
A bit more objective is this site:
The Memphis Queen III is a beautiful paddlewheeler on the Mississippi at Memphis.

Capt. Tom Meanley designed and built this boat in the backyard of his little farm in southwest Shelby County, the Memphis Queen Shipyard, in 1976 – 1979. The boat had to be moved over 12 miles of dry land. The Memphis Belle III was christened on May 8, 1979. She has a capacity of 400 passengers. She is 99.8 feet long and 27 feet wide. Her true paddle-wheel is powered by a diesel engine with additional twin screws.

The Memphis Queen III and her sisters, the sternwheeler Memphis Queen II built in 1955, the barge Memphis Showboat built in 1964, the sternwheeler Island Queen built in 1983 and the barge City of Memphis built in 2000, offer sightseeing, dinner and charter cruises.

After all this, just which boat was involved?
ETA: TBH, my greatest fear is that she fell into the stern paddlewheel (if applicable).

I’m confused. The first alert poster at 11:31am states the mother told police that the friend said she never got on the boat. Then the second alert poster at 2:30 says the friend stated after they docked they couldn’t find her. So did she get on the boat or not? Or are they saying she didn’t get on the boat and after the friends returned they couldn’t find her on land where they left her? Anyone else have an opinion on this?

It’s not unusual that details change early on in a case, it happens. How many people were in the “friend” group that night? Did they find her purse or cell phone on board?

It seems they are putting out reports that make it appear the whole sitch is off, i guess you could say someone is using the media to call out behaviour they have issues with , like two different stories.

If TT met friends on the boat, wonder why they were separated…Maybe TT went to get a drink or restroom. Did the friends not find it odd she never returned? Sorry if I missed this part but I wonder what the time span is from the time her friends last saw her to the end of the cruise?

The 21 year old fell overboard, by the sound of it. Are there alligators in the water?
Sounds like there are.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — When you think of Tennessee, you don’t typically think of alligators, but maybe you should. Wildlife experts say that in recent years, they are seeing more alligator sightings in the Volunteer State. One was spotted just outside Memphis in Fayette County.

“One of our own personnel saw it, they are pretty excited, and then they are like, ‘this is pretty cool that we are getting to witness this in Tennessee,'” said Amy Spencer with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

Spencer said that it’s not the only sighting either. They’ve also spotted a gator on the Tennessee River in Hardin County, and on the Mississippi River in Shelby County, as the ancient creatures make their way up to our neck of the woods from the Deep South.
