We would like to express our sympathy to Tamia Taylor’s family and friends in regard to her being a missing person. We can confirm from video footage circling around that she was last seen on the boat as the boat was pulling into the Harbor, where we dock our boats. We have no reason to believe she could have gone overboard and we will be respecting MPD as they conduct their investigation. We hope she is found safe and returns home.
If you have any information about her please contact the Memphis Police Department.

Sounds like there are.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — When you think of Tennessee, you don’t typically think of alligators, but maybe you should. Wildlife experts say that in recent years, they are seeing more alligator sightings in the Volunteer State. One was spotted just outside Memphis in Fayette County.

“One of our own personnel saw it, they are pretty excited, and then they are like, ‘this is pretty cool that we are getting to witness this in Tennessee,'” said Amy Spencer with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

Spencer said that it’s not the only sighting either. They’ve also spotted a gator on the Tennessee River in Hardin County, and on the Mississippi River in Shelby County, as the ancient creatures make their way up to our neck of the woods from the Deep South.
I live in South Louisiana where there are tons of alligators. My family water skis in the bayous and rivers where you can see the gators. Never once have the gators come close.

Interesting … did she leave with someone and not tell her friends? Something stinks here …

If she left the boat with someone, it may have been willingly. It also may have been under duress.

The other person may or may not be a safe person. But at least she could be somewhere on land and hopefully safe.

Wishing for the best.

She was celebrating her birthday. Does the riverboat have cameras?

One would assume for safety reasons the boat would be well-equipped with cameras ?
Maybe her family could view the footage ?

Hope Tamia is o.k. ... but this sounds bad and possibly sketch !
I'd want to speak with her friends if I was LE.
They would've been the last to see her.

Sorry for her worried loved ones.
Omo.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) -A woman is missing after taking a riverboat ride with a friend.

On September 10, officers were notified that Tamia Taylor, 21, was missing following a trip to Memphis to ride the riverboat.

Police say that when the riverboat docked Taylor could not be located and has been missing ever since.

Taylor’s mother has been in contact with the police and says that Taylor came to Memphis to ride the boat with a friend.

If you have any information about this missing person please contact Memphis Police at 901-545-2677.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An Urgent City Watch Alert was issued for a 21-year-old woman who was listed as a missing person Sunday.

The Memphis Police Department says that Tamia Taylor came to Memphis to meet friends and get on a riverboat at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

When the riverboat docked and the cruise came to an end, Tamia could not be found, police say.

Officers responded to a missing person call in the 300 Block of Riverside Drive early Sunday morning.

She is described as a 5-foot-7-inch woman wearing a beige shirt, white shorts, a black jacket, and white shoes.

If you have any information regarding Tamia Taylor’s whereabouts, please contact the Memphis Police Department at 901-545-COPS.

Usually when a friend joins you to go on a trip or ride a boat, the two of you stick together. How did they get separated and why didn't the friend report that she was missing before the boat docked????

The riverboat company statement above says that she was on camera as they were just returning to the harbor. I see 3 possibilities:
1–she fell or was thrown off right before docking
2-never got off (hidden on boat)
3-got off the boat, missed her friends, and then disappeared (falling into water? Going off with a stranger?)

Monday morning, dozens of Tamia Taylor's friends and family members lined the banks of the Mississippi River looking for the Covington High School graduate and mother of two young children.

That last her mother knows, Tamia Taylor boarded the boat around 11:30 p.m. After that, the friends she came with were unable to provide any clarity of what happened to her daughter, the mother said.

"I said, 'What do you mean you don't know?' She said, 'We don't know. We lost her.' How do you lose somebody that you came with? She then gave me the story, 'We were on the boat. We were getting out of the boat and Tamia says she had to go to the bathroom. She put her phone down to go back up to the second floor to use the bathroom. We picked up her phone. We went to the door to stand and wait on her and then we left.'"

Despite a search of the boat and the river by friends, family and Memphis Police, no sign of the 21-year-old had emerged by Monday morning.

Fearing the worst, Tamia Taylor's family is still holding out hope that she will be found safe.

Were they all drunk when they got on the boat? I don't understand how they couldn't provide any details to her Mom, other than Tamia sat her phone down and went to the second floor bathroom. They picked up her phone, stood by the door and then left without her? Yeah, something either isn't being said - or they are simply the worst friends EVER.

Why would she have left her phone? Highly unlikely, in my opinion, particularly if you were splitting off from your friends as the boat was preparing to dock—most folks I know, drunk or sober, would bring their phone with them just in case they couldn’t find their friends when they returned from the restroom.

I wonder if the friends had the ability to access and use TT’s phone, or if it was locked/password protected. If it wasn’t locked/password protected, they could potentially have deleted data from it that they did not want to be seen by others/feared TT might share with others (a generic and purely hypothetical example: maybe Tamia recorded one of the friends, earlier in the evening, flirting with somebody who wasn’t their significant other—they might want to delete that recording from Tamia’s phone to make sure their SO never saw it).

I can’t help feeling that the friends know more about TT’s disappearance than they’ve told her mother.

Article specifies she met up with “3 work friends” for the boat ride. Sounds like they were sitting at a table, she went to the restroom, they grabbed her phone and essentially left the table.

According to their site, boarding time is 10:30 p.m., not 11:30 p.m.

Also, I believe that Tamia had met up earlier with three friends, to celebrate her birthday, on Beale Street in Memphis. Beale Street has a lot of bars and restaurants. So, they had a pre-gathering prior to boarding the riverboat. [See below]

"Debra Taylor told FOX13 that Tamia Taylor came to Memphis Saturday night to celebrate her 21st birthday with three friends, went to Beale Street and then got on the riverboat cruise."

There is a video of TT from that night, circulating on social media.

Yes, I know that…not sure how that relates to my post, though, unless you mean that maybe the video OF TT was taken by TT herself (or filmed on her phone)? Sorry if I am missing something obvious here.

I'm trying to understand the riverboat leaving at 11:30pm, on a Sunday to boot! What are people looking at? I obviously need to read and reread! UGH.

It does seem really late, but it wasn't Sunday night -- it was Saturday night -- and that makes more sense (though still late to begin a ride.)

They used to have what was known as the "MIDNITE BOOZE CRUISE" that took you out for a couple of hours but I'm not sure it's still available and I am off to work or I would look it up... sorry.
Yes, where I am from they had the evening booze cruises, dinner cruises etc. Who saw her get on, and who saw her while she was on the boat? Who is the friend. So many questions not being answered.
