(You do? I can’t imagine why...)

(Eta: Sarcasm obviously)
Yeah, I toned it down with the first edit of my post. Don’t want to go sit in the corner in my TO chair.

Well now, if true (and I suspect it's not) there's a motive if I ever saw one.

Her husband then went on to tell detectives he went through his wife’s phone and discovered she had multiple affairs with different men she met on the internet.

That's a pretty bold claim to make especially since the phone is there and LE is going to see what's on it.

Yes, it is. But, he lies. :)

This is true. It honestly annoys me to no end that he didn't even report her as missing himself. So your wife left two months ago, she didn't take her car and phone which have now been sitting at his residence for two months and what? He thought that was normal? That she was just giving these items to him? You wouldn't even call her family and ask if they have seen her? Speaks volumes about him. JMO

And not even just that, he pretended/let her family believe she was around and that he had seen her for a little while before her sister and mom got more investigative.

There seems to be a valid suspect... JMO...

Did the niece specify that the (strange/didn't sound like her) texts came from the aunt's usual number or a different number?

The phone was reportedly left behind at the home, so the only other person that would have had access to that phone would be....

Husband's story keeps evolving and not in a good way.

I think we all know where this is headed. Hopefully sooner rather than later or never.

TAQUILA HAYES DEAD: Missing Cordova mother confirmed dead months after disappearing, family says
[...]

According to Hayes’ mother – RN – detectives met with her on Tuesday and told her Hayes is dead.

Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich confirmed to FOX13 that detectives with the DA’s office met with RN Tuesday at 201 Poplar to discuss the case, but she would not confirm that Hayes was found dead.

Investigators spent Monday doing a thorough search of Hayes’ home in the 9300 block of Starcross Avenue.

FOX13 saw a black car being towed from the garage of the home where the 41-year-old and her husband live. They also took a number of items from inside the house.

At this point, no arrests have been made in connection with her disappearance or death.

So sad, but not surprising. I wonder what evidence/indications they had to reach that conclusion? Cadaver dogs, large amounts of cleaned up blood? I don't think he confessed or he would have been arrested.

Family holding onto hope during lengthy search for missing mother and nurse

Family members originally thought she was OK and said her husband told them she'd been at their home.

It was when Hayes missed her son's birthday and first day of school that alarm bells went off. Her husband claimed she left, but he didn't say where, leaving her car at their Cordova home. Hayes' family isn't buying that claim.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is still treating the case as a missing person's case.

I would say someplace in the house lit up like a Christmas Tree when luminol was sprayed and blood evidence was also found in the car. Why did it take so long?!!!

From the article:

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is still treating the case as a missing person's case.

No foul play suspected? Or is Shelby County LE trying to make someone more comfortable? Or is the concrete evidence just really not there?

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said they are heading back out to the area near the home of a mother who was reported missing more than a month ago.

Investigators didn’t reveal why they returned to the area, but they did say they are conducting a ground search with more than 60 deputies looking for clues in the disappearance of Taquila Hayes.

A command post has been established at Dexter and Lenow.
