For anyone coming here for answers - I was able to confirm that Tim's remains were found in Shelby Park (where his car was found and volunteer searches took place) next to his gun about one year after he went missing. The medical examiner, according to a family member, said it was clearly a suicide.

May Tim's family have peace.
