I feel for Katie, I feel for Suri. Can't say I feel for Tom, after his shoving his beliefs down the public's throat and all the couch jumping he has permanently turned me off. I just don't care for him.

If Katie didn't know before the marriage what she was getting into - then that's on her.

Many people look down on those of the same sex who have been together for years/decades, and get all pearl clutchy with their Ohhhhh Noooo - no marriage for you two! no joint benefits for you two!

But some celebrate marriages like this, and then those involved sell their marriage and baby photos stories to the rags, and later put out their "what went wrong" stories.

She better be prepared because he tends to hold onto his kids at the expense of the relationship between Mother and child. Maybe it's just me but I kind of see him as possibly being controlling.

I'm sure there was a prenup/business contract with a confidentiality clause. She'll make out okay.

But if he's anything like I think he is---Suri is going to catch hello during her childhood from the fallout between her parents---especially Tom's actions.

But then again, I don't like the man. I don't have a kind eye when I view him. I think he's ego driven and self centered and off center. More than a bit odd. Just my take on him though.

Before Katie married Tom she always had a smile on her face...all bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Those smiles dissipated quickly though.I don't think she realized just what she was getting into.

Supposedly she is asking for sole custody of Suri. I don't know anything about divorce, but would this mean that something really weird is going on with Tom, that she wouldn't want him to have custody at all?
I'm hoping that Katie finally woke up to the ridiculousness of that cult he is in. Wacko, in my opinion. There may be much more to this than religion, though.

I don't know these people but something about that guy has rubbed me very wrong since day one. There is a sort of cruelty to his face. And Katie seemed so different after she married him. Kind of lost her spark.

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Say wuuut?? Im shocked!! I love them both. I dont care what he believes in. I got over his couch bouncing bs years ago. He needs to give up marriage tho imo. Its clear to me he provides stability and such but not so great w companionship perhaps.

Back when the two became engaged there were rumors that it was a contracted marriage, and Katie was paid a handsome sum for a total of some many years. Some rumors had it at 5 years ( what a coincidence) some had it at 7, and so on. I searched trying to find something on the internet about this, but could not find a link. But I clearly remember these rumors surfacing when the two got engaged. At the time I leaned toward a 50/50 possibility. Now I am wondering whether there might have been some truth to it. My mind is open enough to entertain any possibilities. JMO of course

I'll tell you what he did to me! He squirmed his way into the part of 'Jack Reacher', that's what he did. I don't know if I can even read any more of the books now.

Honestly, I am sick of a lot of celebrities and their lifestyles. I don't think quite so many people would be signing up for bondage and bankruptcy in the cult of Scientology if they didn't get sucked in by people like Tom Cruise and John Travolta making it look all cool and all that. Every time I see Montel Williams hawking payday loans (which is nothing but a scam to take advantage of poor, desperate people) I want to punch him in the face. I loved 'Frasier', but I will never watch anything with Kelsey Grammer in it again, and Charlie Sheen, don't even get me started...

There were enough rumors about Tom Cruise auditioning for his next wife before Katie Holmes came along that even me, someone who doesn't follow this stuff at all, knew about it just from commercials and headlines in the grocery line. So I don't have a lot of sympathy for her, either, but I do feel very bad for Suri. I just hope Ms. Holmes has enough sense to get her away from the cult, but fat chance of that.
