Oh yes, its on the thread somewhere I will look. He calls her Kate now, I guess she has earned it since she carried his seed. I agree, his train is going crazy!

That sounds so typical of him...now he's going to give her the name that "he" wants. Poor girl...she's not Katie anymore. He's stripping her of her identity and turning her into what he wants. I wonder what role she played in naming the baby, if any?

You don't need to hunt for the thread...I just hadn't heard this before because I really don't care about him and don't really read that much when it comes to him. I just thought it was interesting that Paramount dumped him.

I have noticed that the talking heads have been yammering on about this...and one thing I've not really heard them say is it's really about $$$...IMO. When the general public quits paying money to see his films, then you'd expect the studios to do something. He's not a hot commodity anymore and they are getting rid of him because of that...not that he's a nut. If we were still willing to shell out money on Tom, the studios would keep him...no matter how wacky he is.

I think these things are sending a message to these people...say what you want, do what you want...but don't expect the general public to like it or continue to pay to see your movies or buy your CD's. I think Tom and the Chicks are finding out that they crossed the line and lots of people don't like it. They are so arrogant that they don't get it...they are flattening their own bank accounts!

Well, maybe after Tiny Tom's couch jumping episode and other things the powers that be at Paramount did sit him down and say look this just does not reflect good on you or us so tone it down a bit. And maybe with Tiny Tom being so arrogant he said f-u and amped it up even more and then they had no choice but to cut him loose. It's like when you stop rescuing someone and let them hit rock bottom so they can see how far they have sunk and what they stand to loose. JMO

I think it's all about $$$. I saw some report which showed that a large number of people don't really care for him, and you combine that with the profit from his last movie...and the writing is on the wall. I think if the general public still loved him, and put up with his shenagians, and kept forking out $$$ to see his movies, Paramount wouldn't have done a thing. But why invest millions when you're not sure you'll see a return on the money...or even break even.

And I can see the arrogant Tom telling them to take a hike. The high school drop-out is quite impressed with himself.

I think when he bashed Brooke Shields and then took on Matt Lauer, his ship started sinking then and there. He's a fruitcake, and if he keeps it up, his beloved church will do the same thing. I can't imagine they would want someone as nutty as he is out there spreading "their" word.

But I also hope this is a message to all these nutty stars who think that the earth revolves around them...it doesn't. Their just actors for goodness sakes. They aren't going to solve the world problems or find a cure for cancer! They're are just actors...period.

Tiny Tim's couch jumping...lol...that's funny. :)

Really, who gives a crap about seeing their baby? I couldn't be any more disinterested. I have a beautiful 8 month old niece who occupies my time.

Exactly. These people are delusional. Who cares? I don't. They have hoisted themselves so high up on that ivory tower that I am surprised they can even breathe at that altitude.

They are entertainers. That's it. And some don't do a very good job at it.

Thanks for posting the article.

That's interesting. Yes, he should stand up like a man and admit he was wrong (and not hide behind a "spokesperson"). I'm not holding my breath. But we might see a lot of things out of Tommy that I didn't think we'd see if his bank account gets too flat!

YVW. I'm curious as to what you and the others think about Tom doing serious damage control, albeit a year too late. Do you think he should do a sit down with someone like Diane Sawyer and admit that he's been out of control/out of line or just STHU about the cult and his beliefs and TRY to act normal and hope the public will "forgive" him in time? I know this would require him to listen to his publicist/PR person or other handlers, which for him is a tall order. But let's say he did listen to them and was serious about repairing his image. Would it make a difference to any of you or is too late?

Of course, for me to really like him again, he'd have to do right by Katie and her family and distance himself from Scientology. I know that's un-thinkable for him but it would go a long way with me.

I don't think there's much chance of him giving Scientology the flick, he's pretty entrenched in that stuff.
I could be wrong though.
I couldn't care less what he said, I don't like him and am still living for the day when he is ostrasized completely.
God I am such a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.
Don't everyone agree at once lol

No, I wanted honest opinions, I don't think that's being a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. It would be impossible for him to distance himself from the cult, as most of his family are members. That would just go a long way with me if he ever did.

Honestly, I think he is trying to do damage contol, at this point. At this point, it looks like he's just trying to save his image...and maybe bolster his star power so he can get back in the saddle and make more $$$.

I personally think he has some mental issues that won't be resolved quickly. First off...he needs to get away from that church and get help. I don't think he will do this.

I'm wondering if his family joined this church because of him, or were they already members? I can see him forcing them into the fold.

I doubt I'd ever spend a nickel on anything he was invoved with. He's just such an arrogant twit. But if he doesn't do something...he's going to go completely over the edge...and I doubt it will be pretty.

My problem isn't all with him. I am sick of all these "stars" acting like they hung the moon. I think some of them are way too big for their britches! And knocking them down a peg or two is highly in order.

And if Katie Holmes has a brain in her head...she'd get away from as quickly as possible...with the baby...and not look back. Thank goodness she hasn't married him...and I hope she doesn't.

I don't know if she'll marry him but I believe with every fiber of my being that he made her sign some agreement that he gets full custody of Suri if they ever split. HE has orchestrated their relationship from day one and being the control freak he is, I can't see him having it any other way.

He has been indoctrinated with the Scientology.
He probably couldn't turn his back on it even if he wanted to.

But I guess other people have, so he has that chance too.
Do you think the all powerful Tiny Tom has the balls to stand up and say he was wrong?

I totally agree Shopper.

Re the damage control, Shopper... I think it's too little, too late. I don't think anything could ever erase from my mind the memories of him jumping up and down on Oprah's couch like a urangutan cut loose from the jungle. Or of his "glib" conversation with Matt Lauer. Even his body language in that interview was pretty much the attack mode. And the list of things he did wrong that year goes on and on. But what you saw during that time was the REAL Tom. What you're seeing now is one who is under the thumb of an agent, publicist, etc. The apology re Brooke Shields didn't even come from him directly but through his agent. She's the one trying to do damage control, and not him. As someone said above, he's too arrogant to think he could do anything that would bring him criticism.

What's truly sad about all of this is that he was probably a pretty nice and decent guy at one time, until Scientology got ahold of him and started brain-washing him. They've turned him into some kind of freak who thinks he's invincible. Just the intensity level he portrays in everything he does is enough to wear me out. He's "cruising" for a fall, IMO. His popularity is definitely declining in America... but he's still big box office overseas. So, who knows how much longer he'll last before he burns out in 50 different directions.

I agree, it is sad. And that apology to Brooke Shields is way lame, everyone knows (or should) that the person apologizing should be the one to say it or it just doesn't have the same meaning.

There is no way they will let him go! Not until they are done with him and even then, they will make his life a living hell.

Don't forget- they know every one of his secrets and will destroy him if he tries to leave!

Trust me on this!

This is probably totally inappropriate but Im going to say it anyway :p. I just know scientology knows about Tom not being heterosexual and more than likely have tried to 'cure' him. Im positive this is the thing they hold over his head. If he leaves he is exposed. While who he cares to sleep with makes no difference to me lots of people would stop seeing his movies based solely on that.

I don't understand why these stars are so wacky and think they can change their names and lives live roles in movies. I just saw Oprah on the news and she is now talking like a South African. It's great that she's helping those girls but she's not South African and she is experienced enough to not pick up an accent and talk that way unless it is on purpose. What a wacko.

We live in an odd world when you consider Pluto is no longer a planet and Tom Cruise is no longer a star.
