Tony Padilla part 2

LP? Defense? Huh? I would imagine that they would have absolutely nothing to say to each other...but stranger things have happened.

What I have learned in the last week is that, LP, Rob, Tracy, Tony are all still being on friendly terms with the Anthonys. and the attorneys.

I won't say what this tells me but just think about it?
None of the above players like Jose Baez so maybe this is Cindys party to get rid of him with her team?

I thought I heard him say on NG or JVM that LP, TM and RD signed a document on one day that he refused to sign and so another document was drawn up and he signed it the next day.

Honestly, I can't believe how none of them asked for a copy at all. Sheesh.

Unfortunately they didn't YET Baez should have had the professionalism to get copies to them but of course he did not EVER get copies to them. Speaks volumes about his character IMO

Tony explains that he separated himself from LP and the rest of the team and why.

If Tony P ever comes back I have a question.
When you first said you liked the A's and they were nice to you,I kind of understood.I really didn't think much of it.I could see that GA and CA could be very gracious, and even nurturing, when they wanted to.
I was reading on the Rob D interview thread and a thought just struck me.You mentioned that you sensed something was off with KC from the time you first met her.She certainly didn't act lik the mom of a missing child.Did you not get that from the A's ,as well? I know you said they were clearly upset, but could you not see that they were not doing much to help find Caylee?
I'm genuiney curious as to what your thoughts are on this matter, not being judgemental or snarky.

thanks Kentjbkent for the notice to look at this interview about LP done in February 2009. VERY interesting reading! I clipped some of the highlights that I find interesting.

Padilla says that while he took heat for springing Casey, he had no reason to believe she wouldn’t talk. Years ago, he bailed out the mother of a missing child in Sacramento, and she spilled the whole story. Nor would he have gotten involved in the first place had it not been for a phone call from a friend in New York.

“My friend said, ‘It cries out for your involvement.’ Well, you know the ego I’ve got,” says Padilla. “I said ‘OK,’ and next thing you know I’m over there.”

(clip)
A 1980 graduate of Lincoln Law School, Padilla has run for office seven times—four times for Sacramento mayor (once against his daughter, Julie), once for California governor in the 2003 recall election, once for Congress against Doris Matsui in 2005 and once for Sacramento County Supervisor in 2006—but, with his maverick platform, checkered background and shoot-from-the-hip style, he stood little chance of winning.
(clip)
In the early 1990s, Padilla served a year in a federal prison for the nonfiling and nonpayment of income taxes.
(clip)
Padilla considers his crowning achievement the founding of Sacramento’s Lorenzo Patino School of Law, enabling economically disadvantaged students to obtain a law degree................
His other great sources of pride are the five children he’s raised and provided with quality educations (daughter Julie went to Stanford) “to give them a better shot than what I had.”
-----------------
comments from LP's nephew Tony in this same article:
“He’s definitely misunderstood, that’s for sure,” says nephew Tony Padilla, the bail bondsman. “He’s very passionate about everything he does. Not only is he intellectual, he’s street-smart. I tell people this all the time: As goofy as he comes off in the media, he’d be a very good mayor, senator—any kind of public office.”
(clip)

Tony Padilla talks about his uncle’s generosity toward every needy person who crosses his path. “He’ll say, ‘Go buy $50 worth of groceries and take them to this address.’ People have no idea how often he does that; I bet he gives away $800 a month. And he doesn’t go around telling everybody; he just does it. He’ll make phone calls at Christmas: ‘I got gifts for your kids.’ He’s like Santa Claus.”

See. This is my sleuthing (not personal) issue with TP. He comes here and says worse things about his uncle than Casey, Cindy and George. That makes no sense.

He has no "two sides" when he talks: even us on WS who have our strong opinions have to make posts sometimes that say: "yes, I think so and so in this case is like this, and it does look all like this...but I can't help feel this way." He says 100%: (paraphrased) My uncle is out for fame and money and Cindy and George are good people that I really like alot.

Still for me: huh?

And more insulting than anything I thought Tracy said was where he said:

I really believe that everybody here (or a huge majority) paint the Anthony's to be rotten horrible people. They cant wait to "cast another stone".

How many stones has he cast at his uncle now?(My husband asked that question: go baby!) :blowkiss:

I mean sit with that for a moment WSers. Does this statement go with why he said he came to WS in the first place? And, what power do we have that we have been able to "paint the Anthony's to be horrible people"! My what terrible people we are! No one would think anything bad about the Anthonys IF we didn't "paint" them that way!?

So LP is a money gubbing media hog. WSers "can't wait to cast another stone" and Cindy, George and Casey are all "great people" who he "likes alot."

Yes. This is HIS opinion. But his opinion has also been the exact opposite before he came to WS(as example what I have snipped from ThinkTank's post).

And my opinion is that something is mighty hinky...:waitasec:

If WSers are correct, and this is all about money...I will not be surprised because this is part of the world we are in. I will be disappointed though because I always have more faith in humanity than that...but I get my heart broken a lot.

At worst he is "up to something" and at best he is a waffler. (He waffles).

Tony, I think you are on the board right now. I am one of the ones who appreciated you coming on board in the first place. Can you address / clear up any of the misconceptions or contradictions like those listed above , if you choose to do so?
TIA and all the best!

Tony,
At what point do you think the Anthony's knew Caylee was dead?
Do you think Casey told them while she was out on bond where Caylee's body was?
Thanks

I think he's gone now. I happened to catch his name and after I found the thread and posted he was gone. Too bad. Hope he comes back again.

:blowkiss:I want to say Thanks to, ThinkTank for your highlights that you found interesting from the interview done in Feb.
Thanks to, Kentjbkent for posting this interview about LP done in February 2009.
Thanks to, Kimster for posting the Today show video.

I had watched the video and took it way different than some and read the interview from Feb and did some of my own sleuthing on LP and found him to be a warm hearted, generous man with an eccentric mannerisms that made him unique and caring. "IMO".

TONY PADILLA only spent 2 hours with Casey, Tracy, LP, and RD spent 9 days waiting on Casey to tell them where to find this so called nanny and help bring Caylee home. A lot can happen in 9 days. Big difference than just spending 2 hours with someone that has just be released from jail. If you listen to the interview with TP he clearly states how he feels about what is going on and his part in the Anthony case.

"IMO" TP is not putting down LP, RD, or TM.
TP, states he never signed any type of privacy agreement. He feels the defense is doing everything they can to protect Casey and the defense has a lot of inaccuracies. He also says HE FEELS IT IMPORTANT TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF HIS GROUP. HE ALSO SAID THAT HE SEPARATED HIMSELF FROM LP, RD, AND TM BECAUSE IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH SOMETHING THEY DID HE WANTED TO KEEP HIMSELF COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM THAT. HE ONLY POSTED CASEY'S BOND.

Again, we have to remember, Tony P. only spent 2 hours with Casey and that was when she first got out of jail. Of course Casey was going to treat all of them nice the first few hours, she was excited to be out of jail. Nothing to do with Caylee then nor now. TP left and things changed as we have found out. He clearly stated he wanted to kept himself completely separate from the defense and he also kept himself separate from LP and gang. He claims he has no info to offer because he just put up the bond, it was TM, RD, and LP that were more involved in Casey's life back then so he can not speculate what they know. In no way is he putting them down. I think he is a smart business man and has protected himself from the get go in this case.

Thank you ThinkTank. This is most interesting and an honest account of the man. A little strange running against one's daughter, or did she run against him? But, other than that, he is what he is. I'd rather have a person stand before me, faults and all, than a slimy, sneaky, manipulative person who calls themselves a human being.

It cracked me up though that during LP's FBI interview he was sneezing loudly (I was thinking "use your elbow", please say "excuse me"), answering the phone abruptly without apology, etc. LP, if you're listening, a little finesse couldn't hurt. :) I doubt anything I say is gonna change you but just thought I'd offer some constructive criticism.

(CLIPPED FOR BREVITY AND BECAUSE ORIGINAL POST ALREADY HAD BOLD!)

TP, states he never signed any type of privacy agreement.

Just to clarify, my recollection from Tony's postings was NOT that he NEVER signed ANY type of agreement, but that he did not sign the SAME agreement as LP, Tracy and Rob. He stated that he had a different agreement drawn up solely in his name, but states that he "forgot" to get a copy due to the threat of being arrested that day......(and apparently didn't bother to call LP to get a copy when he realized that he forgot to get one at the time of signing??????)

Yes. I just quoted a post in the astro thread. The quote is how TP said he signed a different agreement than the others and JB says that is not true.

Mods: am I allowed to bring that post of "lin's" here? What she asks is just what I am wondering.

TIA

Adding to the confusion, in the Tracy thread, TP goes as far as to say that he wrote up his own agreement for/with Baez.

:waitasec: And he doesn't have a copy of it?

Stinky-winky.

Snipped to address an issue.....

If he was a smart business name and wanted to protect himself from the get go.......he would not have gotten involved in this mess in the first place.

My 2cents and IMO, of course.

Plus he plans on staying in touch with the As...what a quick attachment he made.

Well heck, they must all form quick attachments because Tracy formed an attachment in only 8 days and she (by her own admission) was not with KC while she was at Baez's office or at night and didn't speak to Cindy or George that much.

I just don't get it and maybe I would if they (he), someone would explain...

Oh, nevermind.......too many questions with non-existant or non-sensical answers for me to bother to ask them again.......isn't there anyone, I mean anyone, involved in this case, that can tell the truth or give a straight answer or don't appear to have a dog in this hunt? Obviously not!

ITA and would like to add: a smart business man would have made sure to get a copy of anything he signed.

ETA: (From the last hearing where George took the stand)

JB: How was LP and his, uh, employees introduced to you?
GA: They were introduced, to me, by you, as security staff at our home.

IIRC: TP said they met in a warehouse and met the Anthony family FIRST. Why isn't he mad that they are saying different? Why isn't he mad that JB says he signed the same contract as everyone else?

And, why would LP, TP and the rest meet with JB first anyway?
