Police launch investigation into stalking of 12-year-old girl in Leaside
''Toronto police say they are stepping up patrols in Leaside as officers investigate the stalking of a young girl in the neighbourhood.''

''Investigators say in early July, the girl was walking in the area one afternoon when a man driving a silver or grey Jeep Cherokee slowed as he passed her.

Police say the man drove ahead, made a U-Turn, and then continued to follow her for several blocks as she walked.

According to investigators, the girl has been followed “several times” on different days since then.''

The Toronto Police Service would like to warn the public of an investigation into the stalking of a 12-year-old girl.

On Friday, August 21, 2020, officers began an investigation into a suspicious incident that occurred in early July in the Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Avenue area.
It is reported that:
- a 12-year-old girl was was walking in the area in the afternoon

- a man driving a silver or grey Jeep Cherokee slowed as he passed her

- he drove ahead, made a u-turn, then followed her as she walked

- he followed her for several blocks

- the girl has been followed several times since then on different days

Local officers have been made aware and extra patrols will continue in the area.

Little too late, but someone needs to teach this young lady (if they ever let her out alone again) she needs to turn around and walk in the opposite direction of traffic. Oh and scream her head off! One time would be one type of scary thing, but several times following the same girl is especially weird and terrifying.
The parents must be freaking out and wondering why their daughter has seemingly become a target. There does not seem to be any shortage of perverts here, or anywhere- but wondering if kidnapping for profit might be on the radar?
