This Sat at 5am edt time.

PARIS - It’s B-Day for Floyd Landis.

The Tour de France winner will find out at 5 a.m. EDT Saturday whether his backup “B” sample tested positive for doping — a result that could cost the American cyclist the title and lead to a two-year ban.

The International Cycling Union is expected to announce the results after testing is completed at the Chatenay-Malabry laboratory, accredited by the International Olympic Committee and World Anti-Doping Agency.

Floyd Landis' "B" sample has tested POSITIVE, which is what Landis had predicted. Landis contends that the testosterone levels in his body are naturally high.

Phil Liggett, Cycling Commentator, is saying he will be stripped of his title, and that Landis' "2 year!" suspension will have began on the date of his first sample tested positive.

It's guilty until proven innocent in the world of cycling.

Source of info was CNN News.

News off the wire is that Landis' team has just sacked him!

Also, they reported that he has vowed to fight for what he has worked so hard for and has issued a statement saying so.

PARIS -- Tour de France champion Floyd Landis will fight to clear his name and keep his hard-won title after his backup doping sample tested positive Saturday.

~snip~

Landis was immediately fired by his Swiss-based team, Phonak, and the Tour de France director said the 30-year-old rider no longer was considered the race champion.

~snip~

"I have never taken any banned substance, including testosterone," Landis said in a statement. "I was the strongest man at the Tour de France, and that is why I am the champion."

"I will fight these charges with the same determination and intensity that I bring to my training and racing. It is now my goal to clear my name and restore what I worked so hard to achieve."

Just on msn news channel was stated that it's againsted the rules to offer and get DNA results to see if the sample EVEN belonged to the rider.
Well, it could be anyones sample...
They should change alot of the rules, they SUCK....

One thing that I thought real strange about Landis thou, what athlete drinks
alcohol, and the day before the last stage?
Alcohol depletes water....which as we all know you need all the water intake in your system to compete...

In about an hour from now, or better make that 55 50 minutes, Landis is supposed to be on Fox And Friends, on Fox News Channel. Their sports guy, Brian Kilmead, seemed to be kind of sarcastically mentioning about Floyd's drinking the night before, so it ought to be interesting!

It was about 4:40 am PDT when it was announced he'd be on in an hour, so I adjusted it so it won't be missed by anyone reading this.

Hey there, kato. I don't know if you have ever seen Brian in person, but I think that he is much better looking in person than he is on television. :)

I've never had the pleasure. I'm sure he is. He seems like he would be fun to hang out with.

Very interesting story. Since his FIL was an avid cyclist and he introduced Floyd to road cycling, do you think that he could have also introduced him to steroid use??
I have a feeling something was going on with that and his resturant business. The FIL, who knew Landis before he married Landis's wife's mother, recently opened a large new upscale restuarant in San Diego. I'm wondering if they were counting on Landis to help with the financial end of things. Once the suspected doping issue came to light, the Landis gravy train came to a screeching halt. If the FIL had a hand in the doping or was going to be financially ruined...well, either could contribute to suicide. jmo
