Trial date set for Sidney and Tammy Moorer #1

Something I'm pretty sure the M's and their supporters do not understand at all: this case is not the Elvis family vs the Moorer family.

This case belongs to and is owned by the State of SC and not owned by the Elvis family. As such, the Elvis family are not the ones prosecuting the M's. The Elvis family has no power to arrest, detain, charge, and prosecute the M's. They are spectators to this, hoping to obtain justice in some way, whatever that is.

Even if the Elvis family had no belief the M's were involved, even if the Elvis family jumped up and down in anger at the State of SC for prosecuting the 2 M's, it is *not* the Elvis' case. They have no control over this. When a crime is committed the case is owned by the state, not by individuals.

I wonder, truly wonder, if anyone on the M's side or any of their supporters actually understand that? All the anger they feel should be directed to the State of SC and the governmental agencies and not to a family who have no control over whether this case gets litigated in criminal court or not.

Thank you Madeleine74!! The Elvis family wants their daughter found and I'm sure justice served. If the investigation had pointed anywhere but the M's, the state would prosecute that individual(s) and the Elvis family would still want the same things .. Their daughter and justice. JMO

I've seen nothing that indicates M supporters are confused about the difference between the state prosecution and the Elvis family, or how murder cases are tried.

Animosity and remarks have flown from all directions since Heather disappeared. This could, and likely will be, a movie.

Curious about the ankle monitor, does it track everywhere you go or just monitor when you go out of your approved range?

Really?? Polly sure is confused? She seems to think it's a popularity contest.

Despite negative chatter in the community, particularly on social media, about the Moorers, Polly Caison said her family has a large group of support, including some family that she said had to sit on the prosecution side during the initial bond hearing.

Yes, really. I am not seeing how PC's remark about support for the family equals her "confusion" over the difference between the state and the family. My remarks were in response to that claim and the statement that supporters, which includes PC, are directing blame at the victim's family, when it should be toward the police/state.

Yet, from the article you posted:

"I promise you one thing, whatever happened to that girl it did not happen here,” she said. “God help him [Terry Elvis] find his daughter because my family did not have anything to do with it,” she said. “I hope they find her and I hope she comes home."

"Polly Caison said the truck police referred to never left the yard and that police didn’t spend enough time looking for other suspects, but instead targeted the Moorers."

She distinguishes between the state and the victim's family with no confusion, and seems to understand how trials operate. That was my only point.

Yep, from all directions.

BBM......weren't there multiple surveillance cameras on the property? Is this truck on video as having never left that house all night?

http://www.wmbfnews.com/story/28016701/gps-device-to-monitor-moorers-whereabouts

The device will be worn on the ankle and can track the Moorers' location throughout the country, according to the Horry County Sheriff's Office Home Detention Unit. The device is tamper-proof.

A red circle indicates the five-mile radius around the victims' frequent places visited.

If the Moorers enter the zone, officers will be notified with alerts, instantly, said Captain Carmen Mureddu.

Staying out of the 5 mile range is going to be quite challenging IMO.

They'd be better off moving away for the next 3 months!

Yes, 5 miles seems a bit extreme, I don't know. I would think 2 mi would be enough and would allow each to easily avoid the other. Of course the Elvis family has no such restriction so if they happen to visit a place (outside of the 5 mi range) and the M's happen to be in fairly close proximity then that responsibility rests on the Elvis family in that scenario.

I'm sure they'll endeavor to stay out of each others' paths and I hope supporters on all sides will just leave the other side alone and not turn this into a "Casey Anthony" cray-cray curbside debacle. There are no winners here and a young woman has been murdered, which no one should feel happy about.

My point goes to the issue of M supporters and their grasp of the difference between the state's case against the M's vs the Elvis family, as the target of their anger.

I think alibis and where everyone actually was is another topic altogether. In fact, I think that's a whole chapter, issue, and tangled web.

If the truck never left then how could they have been out having sex around town that night ? Did they say they were out in TM's car instead ?

That is the M's alibi, that they were out around town..... and also how they were charged with IE charges

Some of the comments I've seen from their supporters are just... perplexing. Posting crazy theories about HE's dad isn't going to help the M's one bit. Just odd to target the victim's family in such an ugly way.

Agree, not only have they posted the theories about TE they have accused DE of not living with her husband, working out of state, taking the reward money and spending it on new cars, etc...it's crazy stuff. No doubt in my mind that the Elvis' would give every world possession to have their daughter back. All they've asked for is answers and information and still don't have them. I admire that they've kept it together as well as they have.

I agree. However, I believe some people are being labeled M. supporters when they are not. IMO

I have never seen so much stupid in my life, but I can't figure out if they are really stupid or if they are smart and their followers are stupid. The stuff they post is beyond ignorant and I'm not sure why they would want a bunch of ignorant followers.

Someone accused them of being with the defense, but the defense can't be that stupid and I can't think of a reason the defense would want to have all those stupid followers.

I don't get it at all, but I sure do laugh when it looks like people with real profiles agree with their hilariously stupid theories.

Yep, and the time they dedicate to posting that ridiculous carp really makes you wonder about their mental stability. Who are these people in real life?

Not sure, but I just read one of their followers saying something about reading that Terry didn't have his teeth in at the bond hearing. I kept wondering WTH she was talking about until I remembered his statement about SC Victims Bill of Rights not having any teeth.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

That's their followers in a nutshell--no pun intended

I don't think the M's have so many crazy supporters - just a few with a bunch of alias's.

I hope TE has found a safe place to hide his family across the border in NC, especially with the threats being made and the M's not able to leave the state. It is creepy that 'they' are so interested in the Elvis family - remember Tammy's little Elvis family scrapbook?
