Someone Please enlighten me as to why the DT feels that this diagnosis of PTSD is so freaking important! I am just not getting this.

Sorry, I'm waaaaaaaaay behind in the thread, but in case no one else explained this...

The whole purpose for this nincompoop claiming she has PTSD is an attempt to explain that her fognesia is not only possible but did occur with her so that it appears that her fognesia isn't the big fat lie that it is. The defense is not only trying to claim self-defense they're also trying to infer that the overkill (which is clearly NOT self-defense) occurred in her fognesia state and try to explain that as temporary insanity.

Self-defense was never the only defense in this case - it's really self-defense and temporary insanity since self-defense all by itself would never work because of all the overkill. For self-defense to be valid the person defending themselves not only has to have a reasonable expectation that their life is in immediate danger with no other recourse (like running away) but that they have to stop their defensive attack as soon as the attacker is rendered no longer a threat because if they don't (as clearly Jodi did not) it may have started as self-defense but became murder because she did NOT stop her defensive attack when Travis became no longer a threat to her.

I think I prefer Nurmi to Jenny. She speaks like a child, has no confidence or authority whatsoever, and stumbles with um and uh constantly. Oh, and I can't stand Nurmi either.
