I'm trying to dislike this expert (I'm biased) but I can't. She seems sincere.

I'm eating a crow sandwich myself. I had pre traumatic stress disorder anticipating her but I think she knows her stuff and will help the state. Now that could flip in an instant if she starts trashing Travis then all bets are off.

Is this a record of "My Top 500 stories about my patients" ???

  • #763
My gosh. They should have let us know that today's entire testimony would be a lesson. I would have skipped.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

Thanks for that, Pink, hilarious!

This is really so unfair.

I hear her speaking but all I'm hearing in my head is what she said earlier..
Had I worked with some men who were abused ....

  • #766
Yeah, she's doing a decent job if this was a seminar or an after-school special. This has NOTHING to do with this case!!

Her generalization and avoidance to this particular case needs to STOP!!!!!!

I find it interesting only because it has relevance to my practice and the situations my clients find themselves in (mostly males, by the way).

I like the generalizations because it's not directed at Travis, and that is a good thing IMO

When was Jody Arias ever "isolated" by TA, physically or legally?

Trapped in the prison of her own mind, maybe.

  • #768
she's going there, all right!

Oh no Willie!!!!!

How dare JW talk about Travis' life.

here we go,she is going to bring travis's childhood into it even though she can't directly say it

What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Jodi was abused in childhood too and even abused her mother. That automatically makes her a batterer!

  • #773
oh, here we go - let's bring in TA in as a "hypothetical". AYFKM?

Ughhhh!

According to Dan Freeman, Travis asked him to come along on their trips, so he wouldn't be alone with Jodi.

I don't think it was because TA was afraid of JA. I think TA needed a "chaperone" so he would not be tempted to have sex with JA. My husband's family is Mormon and it was not unusual to send a younger brother along on dates with a older brother and his date so there was no hanky panky. There are lots of group dates in Mormonism...at least that was my experience. MOO

Jennifer can stfu right now.

Speaking of hostages, wonder how the jury is feeling about this testimony right now. They are the only hostages in this situation. Well other than Travis in the shower. Poor jury. Poor Travis.

"Empathetic" is not a word. It's "Empathic"

Not so, says Webster;

Definition of EMPATHETIC
: involving, characterized by, or based on empathy
— em·pa·thet·i·cal·ly adverb
Examples of EMPATHETIC

<an empathetic social worker who soon realized that the single mother was at her breaking point>

First Known Use of EMPATHETIC
1932
