:seeya: I already posted up there somewhere. There's only one person on the latest filing and it's Robert Brown who appears to be a computer forensics person from Mesa PD based on his linkein profile, which also was posted somewhere up there if you want to check it out.
I deleted it. Fran scared me. lol

HLN talking about Juan Martinez, he now has "rock star" status, well, I thought he already did, lol.
One court watcher called him "mesmerizing". And, they showed him walking outside the courthouse and he was .... smiling . I know I'm being silly, but I can't help it, he's just sooooo cute :blushing:

Make you want a little Juan Martinez doll. All dressed up for court and when you pull the cord says things like, Did I ask you? No no more guessing now. and his all time favorite, do you have a problem with your memory?

Because they take Pics of EVERYTHING at a crime scene! God forbid a crime ever happens at my house...."oh my God there's a 6" piece of yarn next to the couch!" (I knit...and don't usually anticipate crime scene photos being taken at my house....right?)

The cops who took photos, took photos of everything at Travis's house....they hadn't heard any testimony about being tied up when they were doing the initial Pics....can you imagine all the pictures we aren't seeing...? Dustbunnies...a cheerios in the cornet of the kitchen....dog hair stuck to the molding...?

Agree, for all we know the pillows that had the tassells were on the bed before the sheets and duvet came off. Depending on age or qaulity, one could have fallen off, in the sheets and dropped on the steps. Never know.

I have a sleigh bed. I don't have a clue how she was tied to it, honestly. And yes, I listened to her explanatioin at least 5 times. The only thing I can think of is that the headboard was against the rope right up against the wall to make it 'taunt'. She said the 'noose' around her wrists was loose.

IDK, I just don't know.

The jury is under no obligation to regard it as a legitimate source. They are free to decide that Jodi lied in her diary or faked entries.

Nice to see you AZlawyer :seeya:

What do you make of this circus of a trial? Is this the normal course of events in trials in AZ? I mean the schedule, and the way it's dragging on. Are the courts that backed up and overworked there? Is it because of the media and public attention? Shouldn't they have been prepared for that?

I just don't understand how the DT can keep dragging this out the way they are. Do you see any issues with how the judge is handling it? JBP didn't stand for any of the carp these two attorneys are pulling here. Obvious stalling tactics and endless objections. I am interested to hear what your thoughts are on that.

Well I don't think anyone is arguing that.

So then there is no need to be concerned about mistrial or appeal?

Good to know, I guess. From your lips to God's ear.

I'm not convinced, however. I think this DT will try anything.

I think Nurmi will not represent her after the trial is finished. He tried to get off the case at least two or three times.

Then why are those not convicted even imprisoned while awaiting trial? Show me the law where it says convicts vs. the accused are supposed to have different conditions in jail? That's what I meant.

The judge could set a high bond that JA would have to pay to not be in prison before trial. She might be a flight risk.

The point is, if you're going to "test" the piece of whatever to see if it's part of a "rope," you would have to have known rope fibers to test it against. There is no independent test to see if a fiber if from a rope.

So, if you had a knife known to be involved in the crime, you could test the knife for rope fibers, then test this fiber to see if it is the same. Or if you had a rope found in a dumpster with Jodi's clothes, you could test the KNOWN rope fibers against the mysterious crime scene fiber to see if there is a match.

But without known fibers, there is nothing to "match" to the unknown fiber. So nothing to test. Unless you just test to see if it matches the pillow. Which would be fine, but it wouldn't prove Jodi was lying about the rope--it would just prove that the pillows shed. ;)

Aaaaaa haaaaaa!

Excellent! Thank you AZLawyer!

I guess I thought I had read that it was an easy test to run, and maybe it is, but DUH!, with no knife......

Thank you! :).

I think this is actually typical for BPD/Sociopathic.. I really don't think there was anything her family could probably done except put her into treatment center before she was 18..

I only say this because the left home by age 17 could have been chalked up to rebellious teenage crap. BUT the baseball bat was when she was young like under 8yrs old which was old enough to know better! Sorry but jmo 3yrs old you may not know hitting brother in head is wrong but come on at 5, 6, 7 or 8 yrs old?? No way that was 1st sign! And the kicking the dog until it ran away?? Another Sign! Add in hitting her Mother that's yet another Sign!! (I feel like Bill Engvall :floorlaugh:)

Sometimes hindsight is 20/20 but just remember these are the "incidents" are just the ones WE KNOW OF.. think what we don't know!!!

Any one of us who has raised children knows that it isn't always easy. If any one of them is a discipline problem, life becomes one big migraine. But, isn't it our responsibility to take control of that child and do what is necessary to assure that that "child" is not set loose to wreak havoc on society?

Think of this woman EVER being released...men should run and hide...she will certainly have more victims!

Then you know what I mean... We are definitely for the most part still a little rough around the edges..

Why I wouldn't be surprised if after the following sentence is said..
"How do you find the Defendent of 1st Degree Murder?" Answer: "Guilty"...

That someone doesn't say... "Get a Rope!" ;)

A REAL rope... Lol

I've been to court once and they didn't seem to buying her story at all. I was there on the second day of JM's cross of JA.

According to our legal eagles, it could mean the difference between pre meditation and crime of passion or even self defense.

Proving there was NO knife in the bedroom or bathroom would seal the deal for premeditation.

Legal folks, please correct if this is wrong, but I thought I remembered reading something to that end, by one of our lawyers.

But you can't prove there was no rope (therefore no knife) just by testing the fiber. At most you could prove that this little string came from a pillow, e.g. So the pillows shed tassel fibers...now what? Jodi's silly rope story could still be true even if Travis's pillows shed tassels. Better to prove it false by showing how it's not in any pictures and she can't even keep the rope story straight.

I'm beginning to think that JA's migraine today was a defense ploy to not give Juan the advantage of having the last word with this witness going into the long break. Just sayin'

My thoughts exactly.

Please please pleasepleaseplease:please::please::please::please:let this wrap up and we get to rebuttal before April 26th! PLEASE!! Does anything think it will actually drag out that long??

Thanks, Frayed. I'm happy at least one person here understands what I'm saying. I'm giving up the effort though. Lol.

They usually aren't. They are given bail. Jodi was given bail, she just can't make it.

Ok I really need to just stick to this board. I don't know how I got myself suckered into an argument regarding Jodi's claim on self defense on another message board. I give up! I now know that these people will make excuses for everything! This is the response I got as to why Jodi filled up the gas cans before traveling to Mesa.

She did testify that she often changed plans, at one point she was thinking of going via Death Valley. She had this list of locations she wanted to visit. I haven't got to the bottom of that.

Of course she never got to take any photos, or do any of this, because Alexander persuaded her to go to his place. She didn't necessarily know interstate 10 was such an easy drive, and she was travelling at night. Another thing : she may have wanted to fill the cans before getting to Alexander's : he often asked her for money, and it would lead to trouble if she refused, so filling up her cans before she got there would make sense. Maybe she thought she might be off the main roads later. Regardless - it was pointless for her to attempt to conceal her movements in this way - just as the upside down read number plate was pointless - and would even have drawn attention

Well, she knew Interstate 10 pretty well when she lived in Palm Desert and drove to Travis' house pretty often after they met. I-10 was a straight shot over to Mesa. Him asking for money? Pu-leeze.

That judge should put Jodi on the stand to make a record of her "migraine" and ask her "you lied on x, y, z ocassions" "why should we believe you now?"

This is actually a time I believe her. When her star witness starts testifying for the prosecution, I'd imagine she'd get a migraine.

Hmmm, so her father was very ill BEFORE she was ever arrested? (clip on Dr D)

And yet he is still around, and not looking very ill, in the courtroom.

It appears to be another JA "mistruth" or a miraculous recovery.
