Seriously I hope one of these reporters (like Beth) finds out what she was /is so ill with it would hold up a trial of this $$$$magnitude$$$$.

She covers it up very well...right up to the time she asks for a break. How did she know she wouldn't recover, or at least try, over the 90 min lunch hour? Hour and a half? something's not right here.

Ill is Ill. It's ALV's perception of how ill she feel, and we just need to have more empathy for her and if not we're abusing her in someway.

Just watching the whole "end of day" on HLN.

Judge's face was BEET RED! Did she spend Easter Sunday outside or was she furious???

So, let me see if I can kind of pull a portion of some of this morning's "stand out" testiphony into something I can understand:

JA moved to Mesa because...uh...I'm still not clear on that. Neither was ALV.

Jodi went home for Christmas. TA was supposed to show up there in a Jerry Maguire moment with a RING. He didn't. In fact, he didn't get her ANYTHING. This caused her great distress and turned into an "incident."

He tried to make it up to her because, well, he was nicer than any ex-boyfriend I EVER had, and bought her a hymnal, a sweater, and other nice gifts. (ALV wants ME to believe this appeased her. She also wants me to believe JA wasn't jealous of other women TA was interested in.)

#1 on Jodi's "To Do" list for 2008 was "getting married." (She put that in writing. Writing is significant with this "law of attraction" thing, which says, in Jodi's world, "Write it down and it will be so!" Only TA was not cooperating.)

JA had marriage on the brain. And she only wanted to marry one person: Travis Alexander.

Travis had marriage on the brain, too, only there was one person he WASN'T going to marry: Jodi. And I believe he told her this over. And over. And OVER. With actions and with words. :twocents:

Bless you! I put my ear buds in this morning before testimony started and just "rested my eyes" for a little bit..... Just woke up and saw a twitter feed that ALV pleaded illness and we're all done for today. Now I can look forward to this mornings' session with less dread!

I'm watching HLN because they take so many breaks from the trial that it goes all day... something obviously was going on in the dynamics between JW and ALV right before the testimony about the trip to Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. ALV seems to space out... answers "yeah" to a question by JW. JW says, "Is that yes?" in a snippy way. Then when ALV is talking about Jodi and Travis visiting Carlsbad Caverns, she offers an aside that it's a really pretty place and she's never been but would like to go. JW cuts her off, and the best I can describe the way she does it is antagonistic-passive-aggressive.

Something is going on at this point in testimony today... maybe ALV truly is sick, or maybe the defense team is having issues with its witness.

Do you think ALV is worried about having to testify about Jodi committing this crime? It seems as if it's a pretty much lose, lose situation for ALV. jmo

So, ALV testified that in Feb 2008, (testimony 4/3/13) JA went to Las Vegas, back and forth from Mesa, AZ. Well, to do that, you travel US 93, she would have gone through the Hoover Dam check point. HOWEVER, JA told JM that she did not know about the checkpoint until she came upon it after killing TA, that her stopping to clean up and toss evidence prior to the checkpoint was a coincidence. LIE!

Thanks ALV, please do keep talking.

fyi...In 2008, (as a result of 2001 attacks on US) there were checkpoints on both sides of the dam, 1 in Nevada (for southbound traffic), 1 in Arizona (for northbound traffic). Everyone on US93 had to go through a checkpoint depending on their direction of travel. In 2010, they completed and opened a bypass, so now only those specifically going to the Hoover Dam have to go through a checkpoint.

OT: When is the scheduled hiatus for this trial? After next week?

Interesting comment from ALaV regarding her reception of individuals who come to her for assistance. Unless the couple qualifies under the AlaV model of domestic violence, she will not continue with them, as she does not do couple counseling, which she calls family counseling. This might well produce a bias toward viewing couples as abuser & victim, as all parties try to mash them into that mould.

I thought some Mormons do not even celebrate Christmas.

Every December for as long as I can remember, PBS airs some variation of "Christmas With the Mormon Tabernacle Choir". It's always wonderful.

When the jury was first being picked, does anyone know how long they said the trial would go on for? Because I'm wondering if this jury had any idea they would be spending half a year on it. It's just ridiculous, a huge expense and a waste of everyone's time. Since the Defense are the ones that are dragging this out with their long, drawn out and repetitive questions, I'm guessing that the jury has turned against them.

I hope JM exposes ALV's bias against men. All her stories have been about men abusers. Has she recounted one story to the jury where the abuser was a woman? Women can be very proficient emotional abusers and most men have had experience with that. Lots of men on that jury and JM needs to use that to his advantage.

This TA bashing is really hard to take. But the Defense is running with it and they're all in. As excruciating as it is for us, Wilmott has used ALV "the expert" to methodically establish a pattern or cycle of abuse. The evidence is flimsy and questionable, but there's a reason repetition is effective.

It's going to be interesting to see how JM crosses this witness. I hope he's careful with the tone and sarcasm. Samuels was an exasperating little man so JM could go at him hard, but I don't that's a good tactic with 70's Earth Mother. He should be firm, but not come across as condescending.

Juan has to call into question (1) her expertise (2) her definition of abuse (3) the validity of the Jodi's journals (4) and render her conclusions irrelevant to PREMEDITATED MURDER.

AND he has to flip ALV's own testimony to paint Jodi as the abuser by her own definition; and call bull***** on the BIG LIE about pedophilia.

MOO, would love to hear from an lawyer about what they feel is the best strategy to counter this expert testimony.

I thought some Mormons do not even celebrate Christmas.

Are you thinking of Jevoah's Witnesses perhaps? They don't celebrate Christmas. My next door neighbors were JW. They didn't celebrate Xmas or birthdays. Nice folks but they got very uneasy when my daughter gave their daughter a bday gift and we didn't realize they forbade it.

I am unaware of any Mormon who doesn't celebrate Christmas. Maybe the ones with the 7 wives and 44 kids...that's a lot of Xmas gifts to buy :floorlaugh:

IMO

Bottom line....

Jodi ALWAYS went to Travis. He NEVER went to her.

They were told it would be over no later than April 11th. Not gonna happen.

You've got a good point, but I don't think anyone reckoned on the Defense Team working on geologic time. We may not see the end of this trial in our lifetimes. I'm preparing a codicil in my will instructing my heirs on how to continue my legacy by posting here on a regular basis.

Judge told them April 11 for everything, guilt and penalty phases.
We won't even get to the states rebuttal case by then, the way the defense keeps getting "ill".
:sigh:

They all deserve a lifetime exemption from jury duty if they want.

Why does JW refer to every one of JA's bogus writings as a journal "article"?

Is JA a published author anywhere other than in her own mind?

Apparently she took lessons from Dr. Samuels.
