GO JUAN. Mz. A went on for hours with blah, blah, blah. When JM asked to tell him what she read in Jodis journals that were negative about herself, she struggled. She said if you want me to be specific as to any time or day, she would have to see them. He said, what do you remember? IT WAS PRICELESS. She struggled to remember a few things. JM said, in the scheme of things, not to bad. She said no. It totally erased everything she had to say about this case. It was a Samuels moment. Just repeating what Jodi said. I wish it went on a little longer. Im sure she wil look for negatives in her journal over the weekend and try to memorize them.

What ALV is describing is a pattern of behavior that has very deep roots going back to childhood and that one would take from relationship to relationship. The more intimate the relationship, the more that pattern would reveal itself.

Do you dishonor and disrespect your wife, call her horrible names, rage at her, put her down, occasionally kick her [ok we have no proof of physical, but it fits the pattern of escalation]. As ALV said, the abuse in this relationship was escalating at an alarming rate, and Jodi was the one pulling away, not TA.

IMO

Was she pulling away when she moved to his hometown AFTER they broke up?

Or was it maybe when she drove across a couple of states to murder him?

Many of us have some level of experience with "real" battered women, or abused women. There are real situations when someone is emotionally beaten down, they live with the abuser, they are tied to this person either financially, emotionally, through children (one or all of the above) there is a real fear they will lose their life if they try to leave.

There are often mystery broken arms, legs, facial bones, wrists with doctor or hospital documentation (of a lot of "accidents")

There are situations with maybe less obvious abuse, more emotional and verbal...and that is powerful in itself but they usually live with the person, whether married or not.

There are not many (actually none that I know of) of independent women financially secure or living with parents or grandparents, no children, their next meal is not a concern, mom or pops will get it... that claim "abuse" of the partner that happens to live 1280 miles away.

Hell, just don't answer the phone? there...problem solved.

I don't mean to simplify it but they could have picked a more believable defense like Jodi ingested bath salts and went looney tunes on him. I would believe that.

Abuse? no...

My. Have you forgotten the "singing contest" already? We'd all pay good money to have Juan ask Simon to describe the defendant's singing ability. ;)

Pitchy. :D

I think Juror #5 just showed the world, Jodi, defense and the courtroom she has done nothing wrong and she not afraid to show it.

I agree. But, I was very shocked she was present in court today. I never expected her to do that after the statement she released yesterday. Juror # 5 has every constitutional right to be there and IMO - it's a big FU to the defense...throwing their BS right back at them. JA has rights, and so does everyone else!

AVL lost me at "Travis was the perpetrator and JA was the VICTIM". Oh..hell no! I'm sure her statement was not lost on this jury. The first image that came to my mind were all his stab wounds, and HE is the perpetrator. NO WAY!. I'm sure some of the juries minds went to the same place. Shame on AVL. She could/should testify as an expert, not a defense witness.

As always, Mr. Martinez will turn her into another defendant. Her career will be toast, websites will be gone, nobody will buy her book. Sold herself for the devil!

This makes me ill. I reiterate that these bumpkins that think they're at the county fair need to be removed from the courtroom...permanently. I think they are purposely trying to be disruptive to the State's case, and I don't understand why there aren't court officials addressing it.

Someone needs to point out all of the ridiculous things going on in this courtroom to the people that should be looking after such things. Seriously, passing notes, coaching witnesses from the sidelines, mitigation specialist courting the defendant in full view of the jury, former felon turned BFF of the defendant derailing this trial, and defense attorneys being openly HOSTILE with the prosecution (pizzy would be a better word), AND lord love us....the endless rounds of "may we approach".

I'm starting to think this trial won't be over before the 4th of July. Or if Nurmi gets back up there.....maybe Labor Day.

I agree and I know I have been critical of the judge in the past, but again....judge, please do your job and spot these purposeful plants in the courtroom that are obviously there for an evil purpose. A fair defense does NOT include plants in the courtroom to disrupt the proceedings and cheer for ALV.

Indeed, we should all ask the same questions. I guess I can't say I'm surprised, but I was stunned that they whizzed over that whole "Travis getting killed thing," like some kind of UFO on its way out of the atmosphere. Who the heck do they think they're kidding?

Imo....the DT doesn't want to remind the jury that there even was a murder....I mean, that would just make jodi look bad. :banghead::banghead:

Crazy huh?
Those silly defense lawyers.....:trout:

I'm shocked at how often the lady who sits behind the DT is smirking and smiling in response to things the witness says. It's very professional. When ALV asked if Juan was angry w/ her, the lady practically had to hide her face to cover up her laughing. Idiot.

She's the mitigation specialist no less.

I don't think Travis had an anger problem at all...I believe Jodi made him crazy...This caused him to snap on occasion...Travis wrote a mean text when he was angry...Jodi cut his head off when she was angry...I hope no on the jury is buying into any of this b.s.

Thanks Tiger09 and Veritas Vita for the JA afternoon heads up. I'm listening to it now. I skipped ahead to JM's cross, but caught the tail end of Wilmott's direct and she says something like; "Let's get this out of the way. You sent her four books and a magazine subscription to her while she was in jail, right? You have no feelings for the defendant do you?"

:laughcry: :laughcry:

Sorry about quoting myself, but a Google search shows that the video was from 2004 - 3 years before the alleged finger breaking incident!

Juan Martinez, if you or your people are reading websleuths, go get that NG tape from the HLN truck for your rebuttal. :rocker:

ETA: link to wedding video: http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/04/04/exclusive-video-jodi-arias-bridesmaid

watch JA's left ring finger closely around the 1 minute 46 second mark when she keeps touching the lens of the camera.

Wow! Someone should email this to them!! Or somehow bring it to their attention!

Maybe place it on the FB page, the family reads there!

And he was a GROWN man who could have ended it, sex is not an excuse to continue with someone, especially one you think is crazy. He was raised in a horrible environment (in his younger years) per what has been said and most people raised in that type of environment tend to became hypervigilant to their surroundings and the people in their live. So based on his past live, per what has been said, I feel he would have been more in tune to crazy individuals. Not a good idea to use sex as an excuse when dealing with unsafe individuals...JMO

Despite his horrible early years, TA was raised by a loving Grandma and had very loving and kind brothers and sisters. As he grew older, his world was filled with good people and loving hearts. He had goals, he was learning his way. He wasn't hypervigilant because he loved and he trusted. And evil walked into his life and stabbed, shot and sliced the life out of him.
Grown men sometimes think with the wrong head. But it usually doesn't cost them their life in the most evil of ways. He was naïve. Maybe he thought there was something good under all that evil. He was wrong.
JA's parents knew she did it. That says it all. They never blinked. They immediately knew she had something to do with it.
TA was no angel. Neither am I, no one is. But what has been done to him is a crime, and I don't just mean the heinous murder.
A monster does what she did to him. And monsters are killing his memory now.
Lay down with dogs.... You are known by the company you keep, that sort of thing.
There is a basic part of good people that just denies the fear we feel when we entertain the notion that an evil person will hurt us. Because we would never do something so evil, we deny the clues that someone would do it to us.
TA could have never done that to JA. And that is why he was blindsided in the end. He was coming to learn about her. And that is why she had to butcher him.

And she forgot the porcelain angel that Travis gave her for helping him put boxes in his attic.

Always something to return for. No matter day or night,

That's how important she was to him.

We all do the same thing when cleaning out the attic.

I.e., give away the dusty stuff we don't want anymore.

He was just not that into her, and to her that was a capital crime.

So she committed one.

Not rocket science...

So let's say ALV is dt's last witness, get thru juror question, redirect and rebuttal.

Now Juan's Rebuttal: We know there is a computer forensics expert, Demarte the psych expert, who else do you think he has?

reps from walmart and tesoro

I'm new here... I am glad that Jodi got to hear all the words Travis called her. She deserves to hear it over and over again. I can only imagine what she put him through before she butchered him!! She tortured poor Travis... Those words she be engraved on JA's tombstone when she gets the DP!! I am deeply disturbed at the defense team to think they can get away with this garbage!!

JW also asked ALV if she has memory problems.

I couldn't have said it better myself... he wrote a mean text to vent, she decapitated him...

No, Molly is referencing a time when TA called himself "a bit of sociopath", OMG. If anyone ever listened to the things that have been said here in my house, on the phone, they'd get a net! He was clearly not being serious, it was a JOKE. And it wouldn't have any weight had JA not butchered him and we could hear/read his words.
To pull things so out of context is very unfair. But that's how the DT rolls.
What I can't get out of my mind is this..... I know that under the law JA deserves a defense, but how can the DT actually deal with their own conscience to defend her, especially the way they are doing it?
I would be sick to my soul if I was defending her. Totally sick.

Oh yea, I forgot about that comment that he made...totally in jest! Thanks. But he did [text] the Jodi calling her a "sociopath'"..which I believe that he meant!!
