This was so good. Mainly because he is taking her to task for her foundation of the abuse claim. She really has nothing but that paper and Jodi telling her.

I really really believe that Jodi was planning this a long time and wrote in her Journals to reflect things that would make it easier for her to get away with it. I don't believe for one minute that TA abused her. Not once.

I am so far behind on the other thread...I just gave up and moved over here, lol. Seriously, I just couldn't keep reading and keep my eyes on Juan. That was pretty exhilarating, wasn't it?

It was Juantastic!! :great:

I was shocked and horrified when this woman defiantely and full of hatred said that she does not see Travis as the victim. Even Samuels didn't go that far.

I can't say what I feel about her but I've NEVER seen a Defense expert so bad, so ro$$en. How scary that women like her can walk around giving advice to others!

As I've said before a special place in he$$ awaits.....

Husband and I were just talking about Snow White and he said, well she did have to clean after seven men. I said she wasn't going to stay there rent free, everyone had to work and besides in the Disney version she made all the woodland animals do her work either with her or for her.

I am actually an abuse survivor. My stepmother went to jail for beating the crap out of me when I was 17, and she was charged and convicted of domestic violence.

I just got divorced and I was in an 8 year abusive relationship and believe it or not, I was diagnosed with PTSD and GAD (since I was 5) and the therapist also said I was a victim of spousal abuse and noted into my medical history and it's also a crux of my divorce case.

Just because it's not in the DSM does it mean that being abused isn't a relevant diagnosis. I don't like being compared to Snow White, either.

And I believe that JA is guilty. Not a fan of his approach today. Sorry.
I'm so sorry for what you've been through. There are a lot of survivors - walking wounded, as someone very accurately once stated - among us.

Me included...sometimes I cringe at Juan raising his voice or becoming sarcastic too...but that's my emotional response to someone else doing the same, not for so nearly stellar a cause as seeking justice for the real victim. I should hope if anything ever happens to me that someone would fight for me with so much passion.

All I have to do is remember that the person who most likely endured abuse - and indeed the ultimate form of intimate partner violence - would have no voice at all were it not for dogged, determined prosecutors who dedicate their careers to little pay, less recognition, and often the fear of retribution.

Anyone of us could have been Travis and that's the way I guess I see this and the determination of Juan...I'd want that for someone I loved, or for myself, especially if an acquittal or conviction rested on how hard the prosecutor was willing to fight to expose a sham of a defense.

All MOO

ETA: There were a lot of people, myself included, who felt the prosecutors in the first Jason Young trial let Michelle down. It ended in a hung jury after a wholly ineffective cross of the defendant. It was glaringly apparent the prosecution had made almost no attempt to prepare for such an occurrence. Most of their questioning was blase for their own CIC. Fortunately, his testimony was allowed via video in his retrial and he was convicted of his wife's murder. He was never charged with the murder of their unborn baby son, Rylan, due to state law which has since been changed iirc.

abused become abuser or abuser become abused....NOT ALWAYS..the thing is we all manipulate in some fashion..by being sweet or nasty. We dont all hurt or murder folks in this manner that ja did.

Denying a chocoholic of chocolate can be thought of as abuse ..at least by me (am a certified chocoholic)..And that is no fairytale.

In fact most people who have been abused in their childhood do not go on to abuse others. The majority go on to be very productive citizens. They may become overprotective parents.

IMO

ALV got paid to read a "book" it was a fairy tale and she based all of her assumptions based on "the book" she read. JUST LIKE SNOW WHITE.

Now let's be real and take what we KNOW as fact and apply it to the "continuum" and she who abused/stalked who...

It has probably already been said (threads moving too fast for me), but I believe Juan will point out with the Snow White comparison: a) LaViolette can make out anyone to be battered at will and anyone to be an abuser at will; b) completely fabricated stories can be massaged into her chart; and c) the fairytale of Travis the batterer is just that, a fairytale.

I think she is trying to figure out how to get out with a bazillion press coming at her. Perhaps she should have thought this through.

Good evening everyone!
:seeya:

Awesome! Come home from work, turn on HLN, and find Juan Martinez cross-examining ALV!!!

:great:

JVM: "Is the prosecution being too harsh on this middle-aged lady....?"

Me: "No!!"

MOO

I'm wondering if Jodi ever thinks back to when she first heard the name Juan Martinez from Flores. When he told her he was the toughest prosecutor in the State (or whatever it was he said), instead of asking "what's was his name again?" me thinks she should have asked "just how tough is he?"

Just got home and saw a few snippets on HLN....this witness looks to JW before she answers....and I hate to say this but she is beginning to remind me of CA when she was on the stand:furious:
