trial day 41: the defense continues its case in chief #122

Just wanted to pop in and say that I was shocked to see tricolor today, but I think she may be super brave. She's dedicated months of her life and who knows how much lost work income to attend this trial (don't know about AZ but in my state you get $14.00 for the day). She's also been noted as being the most attentive (note taking wise) juror. She's cute as a button and it's awesome to see her in person and she is exactly as I envisioned her. Paying attention and taking notes. She's invested and obviously diligent. She should write a book, or get paid for interviews or do whatever she can to make up for months of her life lost. Tricolor is super adorable and her hair is so super cute and anyone that says anything different needs to put themselves in her shoes for the last freaking three months. You go girl, tricolor, and leave all the haters and judges (who have no right to judge you) behind. Also, perhaps we should start putting some thoughts, such as our WONDERFUL inside view thread, downstairs.

Juan is going to have a field day with Jodi's journal on the day she was 'officially' notified by her Bishop of Travis's murder, June 10, 2008! This entry should invalidate every single page in her phony journal - she is insane! Surely, AVL read these pages! I loved how she practically ignored June 4th today....after spending almost 2 weeks on the witness stand. She just skimmed over it, lol! Were there any entries in JA's journal on June 4....or was it just not 'noteworthy'?

Agree! I finally figured out the purpose of having this friend on the phone and showing video of JA as her bridesmaid. NG said maybe this is the JA Treavis saw and knew. Well, only for a brief time, I am sure. I would still rather watch the trial.

I love, love, love the way JM rattles witnesses. When Juan stood up and grabbed that exhibit from Wilmott, I swear I heard the theme music from "Jaws". Then he starts bumping her about her education, her inability to give or interrupt tests, was there anything negative about TA in JA's journal, switches to anything negative about JA in journals, her snow white abuse analogy, circling, circling...d@mn court ends for the day. Betting will see a huge bite of ALV Monday morning.

I started listening to HLN on XM for my drive home and heard ALV testifying about conversations between Travis and other women. First, how does she know about these conversations between our victim and another woman, and second how is this not hearsay and stricken from the record?

my 5 year old granddaughter can draw a better snow white. Someone should let Disney know that Arias is ripping off a copyrighted image.But then it is not good enough to really look like Disney's...well..any character.

Okay. But I wish he didn't leave me with such a head-scratcher for the next three days.

That is exactly his MO. That is how he rolls. It is his trial strategy. There are two main reasons that he opens with 'weird' subjects in his cross examination.
First, he wants to take them by complete surprise. And second, he wants to throw out an unimportant topic, and spar with them to see how they battle and respond. Then he studies it to see what he needs to know for the REAL battle.

He did the same thing with Jodi. He opened with Jodi calling her sis a dummy. Everyone wondered why he did that. But it was brilliant. He got her all emotional, she was taken by surprise, and he sparred with her, over something unimportant. Then he broke her down, and veered sideways into the gas cans.

He did the same thing with Samuels by opening with the Webster's definition of COMPASSION. Totally out of left field. And Samuels got all discombobulated and self righteous. Then after some major sparring, Juan suddenly brought out the fake test scores and Samuels was blindsided by it.

This Snow White thing is standard JuanMartinez. :dance:
