trial day 41: the defense continues its case in chief #122

What a great post that gets right to the the point on this "expert witness." No true victim's advocate would ever do what ALV has done to the victim, slander him so vilely, and then cavalierly lie and turn facts around to try and rehabilitate this murderous defendant. I've been wondering for days who and what ALV is.

This is referring to post 1258. Also read 1255. A must read.

I loved his intensity. I did worry that it may provoke sympathy from jurors for ALV but then I remembered he's going to be at her a long time, probably a few days, it's more important to break her down early than it is to look nice. By the time she is off the stand no one will care if he was a little over aggressive at the start.

She looked startled when the judge told her to answer the question. I think she was surprised when the judge kept saying Over ruled.

This case is like shooting fish in a barrel. JM needs to leave the fancy, arguementive, show boating, hand gestures and hair dye bottle behind. Just keep it simple and straight without acting like Napoleon and the message will be much clearer. Snow White....please

Any word on the private matter discussed after court on Thursday?
Only minutes after trashing Travis, she stepped down from the stand and walked over to his sister.NERVE. That was brought to JM attention and the judge wanted to see her.

JM is a career prosecutor and knows exactly what he's doing.

I think I know what it was, JMO of course. My ears pricked up when I heard that she told him they needed to be apart because they couldn't keep their hands off each other sexually, blah, blah, it was better spiritually, blah, blah, and then this easy-to-overlook tidbit:

"...and I won't be going to any PPL conventions..."

and Travis fails to save his life by saying yes, she should, that she's still welcome there because they will always be friends. I think she deduced his real intent to have her completely out of ALL his circles --and that he would be trashing her to make sure he still looked like the good guy, the up and coming guy, the financially successful guy.

We know this was bait because she had already lined up a guy who was much more successful and higher up in PPL than Travis - she had Ryan Burns hooked by the p****s, just like she hooked him. OF COURSE she was planning to be at every posh and exciting PPL event!

So why would she tell that particular lie?

Re BBM
Wasn't CH JA's mentor and wasn't she on his team? It's really a ridiculous threat for so many reasons. Kind of like threatening to hold your breath. Who would be hurt by JA not attending conventions intended to help her succeed-other than her teammates? It would really only hurt TA because of his relationship with CH but all things considered I doubt CH would have missed her and her few hundred dollars worth of sales so??????
I find myself having to go back in time to my 15yo self to do JA think but here goes. She told that particular lie to try and hurt TA because PPL was important to him IMO and she was hoping he'd beg her not to just like you deduced. I don't believe the girl has a lot of cultural or academic capitol to work with so it's really that basic. JA doesn't like the word NO. She's a petulant kid that way IMO.

I mentioned a few pages back that I think ALV wants to know what conclusion Juan is going for so she can tailor her testimony to fit the conclusion. That's not how it works and after 15 times testifying she should know that. The problem is that Juan couches his ultimate goal very well with questions that don't seem to make sense until he ties it all up at the end. This really bothers the witness'. In ALV's case I think she doesn't want to give that power to JM. JMO

Exactly -- witnesses who are telling the truth -- or are confident in their expert opinions -- don't have to know where the attorney "is going." Therefore, they also don't have to leave wiggle-room in their answers.

And he was a GROWN man who could have ended it, sex is not an excuse to continue with someone, especially one you think is crazy. He was raised in a horrible environment (in his younger years) per what has been said and most people raised in that type of environment tend to became hypervigilant to their surroundings and the people in their live. So based on his past live, per what has been said, I feel he would have been more in tune to crazy individuals. Not a good idea to use sex as an excuse when dealing with unsafe individuals...JMO

But wait! We don't know if JA dangled those sex tapes over his head either. From what we've learned about her, that wouldn't be a surprise.

There was Travis, trying to get rid of JA once and for all, he'd gone to his bishop, wanted to get married (not to JA), was taking Mimi (?) to Cancun, moving on with his life without that psycho JA in it.

Then, uninvited, in walks JA threatening to expose those sex tapes.

Poor Travis had no option IMO. He knew she was evil, that she would do anything to hurt him, which she did in the end anyway.

The girl is sheer evil.

The fact that JA taped sex tapes between her and Travis is PROOF of how evil she is.

Nobody would tape that sort of talk unless they were planning on using it in a malevolent manner at some point in the future.

Schuby your kidding?????? Was Violet still on the stand??? Help me, where can I find it before my boss gets in!!!! lol

To me the most important thing JM got Alice to answer was that NO....Travis Alexander was NOT a victim of abuse....JA is the victim.

Can you believe this woman's thinking?

Surely next week JM will show her pictures of a murdered TA.

I've always said she is double-jointed and can manipulate her finger knuckles anyway she wishes...

Right on. I can manipulate my two forefingers (differently than JA has done tho), have been able to do so since childhood, and have never had a broken bone anywhere. It's obvious that JA is doing the same thing.

I noticed that finger on the stand in the very beginning and thought it was odd. My gut tells me it's been that way for a long time for other reasons whether or not it was from birth or a childhood thing. I wish we could just hear from someone in her way past to say that is the case or what caused it in the first place-someone would know I'm sure.

I've said it once and I'm sure others have brought this up....Jodi herself has said at least 3 times that whoever did this to Travis deserves the dp. She said it in her diary, she said it to Flores when being interrogated and she said it again when asked what her spiritual belief is and she came back with "an eye for an eye". Case closed.
