His questions are not confusing. They're, more or less, all yes or no questions, but she goes off on an encyclopedia tangent when answering each one. The "mumbo jumbo" the jury are getting out of this is that this one is one-sided and is murdering Travis all over again.

overruled means "you're wrong"

the problem here and what is likely causing your confusion, is that the judge is sustaining his objections (meaning he is right) but then telling him to ask another question.
