IMO, another big moment was when alv admitted that jodi the manipulator possibly sent that 2nd email to just get "a rise out of Travis", and that possibly, as a result Travis was justified in answering the text with anger, something to that effect anyway. I don't think Alyce was happy to concede that point.

I so agree... why in the he!!! can this woman not just give a straight answer? She evades questions and is an outright smart~alec to JM!!!
She's very unlikeable!:blushing:

You noticed Alyce did not do this so much when the jurors where out of the room. She's putting on a show for the jury.

She has been on a long time..

also;
at $300.00 per hour racking up the fee..but that is good...for her.. wonderful witness..:banghead:

Well, she is doing a great job for Juan's case, here's your check ma'am.

I am getting so tired of these talking heads saying JM is to aggressive and he could turn off some of the jurors!! Seriously what do you all think??

I think the TH's are only seeing snippets of JM and most likely the ones where he has been aggressive.

These past two days, I've seen JM mix it up quite a bit in terms of his approach. The late part of this morning, he seemed frustrated to me.

Turning off jurors? Not based on what court observers report. They seem to become more engaged.

MOO

i'd think now that 'cutting green apples' was added, the jury HAS to know! LOL.

typical JA. they weren't just 'apples.' they were GREEN apples.

probably bought them at the store......the one on the corner...well, across the street and on the corner....the northeast corner.....they were on sale......
And she got lost on the way and found herself on the I40...

Are you trying to trick me Mr. Martinez ? Because I am not sure where you are going with this. Really? Wth?

He's probably not allowed to say: "You don't NEED to know where I'm going with this. As long as *I* know where I'm going with this, all YOU need to do is answer the question." He says it in his own way, but not straight out, which makes me think he's not allowed to do it.

I am a year older than Alyce. Our sexual mores were from the 60's, not from the dark ages.
Ask your grandmother.

I am always suspicious of anyone my age who is not computer literate, does not know about texting, tweets, or IM. I think they are just lazy.

Juan needs to ask her about Travis' reference to "tossed salad' early in the recorded sex tape. That will shut prudish Alyce up.

I have no wine!!! I thought I had a bottle in the pantry!!!

:panic:

I "thought" I had a bottle in the pantry............do we have a problem here that Ms. ALV can help you with.

Be happy to send her to you! :floorlaugh:

I suggest you go when Willmott does re-direct. ;)

Does this make me an expert in problem-solving? :what:

I am craving chocolate so bad right now.

A few questions - and I'm probably wrong on all of them so bear with me please.

ALV and JW made a lot of references to the fact the episodes of 'abuse' were getting closer and closer which apparently gave JA more of a reason to fear for her life on June 4 as she was defending herself. If that was actually true and it was a 'normal' defense ie just a gun shot, would that be a reason for acquittal?

NB I said normal defense because I also wondered if self-defense can only be the same level of harm/force that JA was under.

If JA had really suffered abuse at the hands of Travis, and if a reasonable battered woman would have felt the need to respond to whatever he was supposedly doing with deadly force, then yes, that would be a defense.

Of course, JA has never SAID that she felt the need to respond with deadly force. She said she felt the need to point an unloaded gun at him and it accidentally went off.

anybody in there right mind would facing the death penalty would do whatever they could to find that gun if it was TAs #jodiarias

You would think that she would be telling police about where she threw, placed, hid or whatever she did with that gun if she wanted to prove it wasn't her grandfather's.

My thoughts for the day:

An abused woman (even when it is known she was abused) who kills her abuser in defense of her life or the lives of her children faces an almost impossible task in court in defending herself. A DV expert is often helpful in showing that the woman had no other recourse for herself.

This DV expert though has set the whole field back, IMO. Whenever a woman claims self defense now, as usual justice officials will be saying sure, like JA. But even worse, every time a DV expert gets on the stand and tries to explain everyone will be saying sure, like JA was abused.

IMO she has set the field back to the time when what a man did to his wife was considered to be no one else's business.

I missed this morning .. why is ALV watching Jodi's dad's police interview in chambers, what happened this morning, did Juan get in any really 'good ones' sorry, but TIA.

what would that prove? nobody can prove with an xray or an MRI whether it happened in january or in june of 2008. she says january. but she also ADMITTED it was in june when she spoke to det. flores.

if there's a way to date an injury like that, i don't know about it. unless a fracture (and i don't even think it WAS fractured) is healing and showing varying stages of bone formation, i'm not sure you can say with accuracy when a fracture happened---and certainly not narrow it down to a 6 month window. this now happened 5 years ago.

besides being another of her lies, the issue of premeditated murder doesn't depend on that finger. JMO.

The issue is whether or not it's a broken bone that healed the wrong way or a severed tendon. She indicates the latter on July 15th where she attributes its deformity to a cut from a knife. On the stand she claims the former. If the XRAY showed no broken bone, her credibility would be obliterated.

The look of the injury is very consistent with a severed tendon. As for it being a broken bone, I'd imagine that only a VERY severe brake to the bone could cause that kind of regrowth. Such an injury would have been very noticeable (very swollen) and very painful. It is highly unlikely that she would have declined medical attention for such an injury. It's not a suspicious injury and could have been easily explained as an accident without arousing any serious suspicions.
