If you cut a tendon, it usually requires sewing it back together, splint and physical therapy. Must have a doctor take of it.
Wouldn't a break be a crooked finger to the left or right...with an un-natural stiffness to it? Just remembering seeing a guy's finger that had been broken and not properly set, would not bend.

What she's got there is a boutonniere deformity IMO. But I do believe it can be caused by a break as well as a cut tendon. So it's a slippery slope to call her out on it and the DT knows it. Because even they don't know if she's telling the truth about it. So neither side are willing to make the call to have it officially x-rayed.

Before I left here this afternoon I would have sworn there were only one tape, Now there are several? How did I miss this after being consumed with this trail for the last few months? WTHeck? What else did I miss ? Are there more tapes or no? I'm so confused now.

My understanding is that there are 7 tapes. I just heard that today too .

My sister cut the tendon in her arm (on the job) and she had to go through getting it sewn up, sorta like surgery, cast and doc watched it very closely. He told her if she didn't do the physical therapy, she wouldn't have use of that hand and wrist normally. She did and does. So get help if you cut tendons!

Amanda Knox was convicted initially, then had the verdict overturned, no?

Hi :seeya:, That was overturned in the Italian Court not American. Not possible here. Take care:seeya:

I must admit, I was very proud of Laviolette for so quickly mastering the concept of hypotheticals in the afternoon session, just in time for Wilmott's redirect. It is by no means a small feat, considering just how painfully befuddled she was by the concept when Martinez asked her about them in the morning. 'You want me to assume a hypothetical without any evidence to support it?'

Well done. 'A' for effort, Ms. Laviolette. Your treat for such hard work is a free VHS (for the luddite in you) edition of 'When Harry Met Sally'.

Apologies for the snarkiness. I try to be as fair and level-headed as possible, but this witness and her testimony have simply become farcical.

Even if I interject an abusive man sitting naked in the shower who was verbally abusive and had 2 previous physically abusive incidents I seriously cant believe that his first reaction to a dropped 1500 dollar camera would be a murderous rage, in a split second, and go after the "dropper..imo it would take a few seconds for him to realize what happened, then he would go to check out his camera to see if anything was broke (his rage is building) this would also take a little time, then the rage would build to murderous and he goes after her....there is absolutely no way for the rage to build to murderous and everything else that happened all in 62 seconds!

I dont have any first hand experiences with an abuser...oh wait under ALV definition ive been living with one happily for 33 years! SMH...anyway, does anyone on the board have some experience/knowledge to say my opinion may be off and the so called murderous rage could happen in an instant, camera forgotten and his mind only on murder!

My experience has been that a serious abuser is more likely to pick that camera up and BEAT ME WITH IT.

Under ALV's definitions, it seems that I too have been seriously abusive in my relationships..OH wait, so was my grandmother and my greatgrandmother and gee from what I learned today, I don't think you can be in a relationship without it being abusive on some level.

:banghead:

Gotta go to bed folks. Real life really interferes with my trial watching :tsktsk:.

One of my favorite parts of the the cross of ALV by Jm is towards the end when he covered that last box in text messages that he TA wrote to JA. He said, "I want you to understand how evil you are. You are the worst thing to ever happened to me".
I like the sidebar action and the fact that JM left that up on the screen for everyone to look at. JA stared at those words a long time and I hope that it was like salt in her little precious ego that even NOW in death, Travis words are still echoing the truth!

She reviewed transcripts of interviews with other witnesses. If she did separate interviews with them would they be expected to say something different than what they said the first time to LE or the prosecutor? And if they did, would that be more or less credible? I have no issue with her relying on sworn statements or statements to LE. That would be typical and expected.
I would think ALV would have entirely different questions than LE. She is searching for abuse and battered women syndrome. None of their questions would have been geared toward that.

As far as a DSM IV diagnosis for stalking, no there is not...it's just a symptom of an illness that has a category and code.

As far as a diagnosis for arguing for the sake of it, same thing....just a symptom.

(Yeah, I was being sarcastic but didn't do it very well in writing. I meant sarcastically there must be a DSM for all the arguing ALV does. I grow quickly tired of it.)

Today I watched in boredom as she argued over the definition of stalking, and balked at answering whether or not she had called herself 'Old Fashioned' when I CLEARLY heard her myself yesterday make a point of it.

People like this bore me quickly. They are not funny, witty, intelligent or proving their point. To me she is wasting everyone's time, including mine.

Today I got up really close to the screen so I could study ALV's face. I thought for a minute there she might actually be my ex-husband!! He would argue about ANYTHING. If you said the sky was blue he would say, "Well technically the sky has no color it's the light reflecting wave lengths with the earth's curvature...YAH , BLAH BLAH BLAH...

I knew that, I just knew nothing else and thought she had been found innocent originally. I feel dumb for asking now. :blushing: :)

Don't you ever feel dumb, Hopeful One!! BTW, I can't bring myself to abbreviate your username, and it drives me nuts when I see it during this trial. You are no HO. :floorlaugh:

I awas proud of Juan and the Judge today. LaViolette started with her nonsense after his very first question. But he wasn't having it today and neither was the Judge. Oh no---not today---huh uh.

HLN After Dark or HLN Jumped the Shark?

PATTERNS, Kamille. We were looking for PATTERNS today. But Alyce couldn't find any (no surprise there). :floorlaugh:
I'd argue she ignored a pattern blazing in bright, pretty neon lights.

But I could stamp the word 'Abuser' on Jodi's forehead and LaViolette would likely testify that my stamping her forehead proves how often victims are disbelieved and/or even painted as unstable, mentally ill, or abusive themselves by their own abusers.

Which - like some of her testimony specific to generic domestic violence (with the exception of her inane description of what constitutes stalking) is actually true but in absolutely no way relevant without conceding to Jodi's disturbingly abusive and controlling behaviors.

I agree! Even with therapy, the finger may never bend straight. Hubby went thru surgery, therapy and a splint that would continually pull with rubber bands to try and straighten his finger. Its still as crooked as Jodis is. He sliced his tendon on a faulty machine...its easy to see how Jodi could slice hers on a slippery knife that hit a bone...I think her reason for not seeing a dr was one of the most absurd declarations of this trial. There would have been a million excuses she could have come up with, accidently kicked her finger while play rough housing for one, without the dr becoming suspicious. I came up with one easily and my IQ is no where near that of Einsteins!

She didn't drop the camera in the picture they are claiming, the angle and the expert says so.
Come on, this woman stated when Travis was choking her that one time that she didn't fight back because she was afraid of hurting him. what? (wasn't this when some money was getting borrowed or something happened in the relationship?) Perhaps Jodi tried to choke Travis before and he didn't fight back because he was afraid of hurting her. Ever think about that?

I don't know how anyone could see the autopsy photos and still think Jodi was justified when she murdered Travis.

I don't think Travis was perfect, but no one is. He may have been a jerk to her. Even if he did everything she says (I don't think he did) he still did not deserve what she did to him! So he said some mean things to her....guess what it happens all the time to people. Most people just suck it up and move on. She is not the first person to be used.....not an excuse for murder.

The "experts" that have testified for Jodi still haven't said anything that explains why she brutally murdered him. She was in a fog, ok so what will stop her from going into another fog and killing some more? She was abused (I don't considered the relationship abusive, but whatever) but she still wouldn't stay away from her abuser. What will stop her from killing someone else who yells at her and makes her feel bad? Even if her parents did "abuse" her like she says so many people have been through much worse. I don't think it has anything to do with what she did to Travis.

Jodi is sick. Not the kind of sick where mental health professionals can help you. Not the kind of sick where people can support you and love you through it. She is cold blooded killer sick. The type of person who can't be helped, doesn't want help and she is actually sick enough to think she is ok. She thinks killing him was ok. She thinks putting him on trial and continuing to hurt his family and friends is ok. She thinks lying is ok.

I hope this trial ends soon. I hope justice is served. There is a special place in hell for people like her and a special place with the angels for people like Travis.

Exactly, on all points!

What the defense has thrown out there as a self defense case is NOT EVEN CLOSE to justification for the heinous murder that occured.

It is beyond vile how ALV talks about Travis, almost as if she's happy he's dead.

If having multiple friendships with the opposite sex, and using profanity while in an argument with a loved one, are justification for homicide then we all best run and hide folks!

I really need her to get the heck off the stand and stop flapping that mouth. She is giving me ulcers.

The whole argument with her backpack being "lightened" for her... I'm with Jodi on that one. I would be furious.

Btw. Are they not allowing Jodi to shower? Is she losing hair? What the heck is going on with her hair????

As soon as I saw the greasy hair look behind her ears, I suspected the DT was trying to give her a new "battered woman" look. JMO

It bothers the heck out of me how the defense team on HLN (After Dark) just lied about the evidence and what the ME said.:furious: Good grief if they are going to do this silly show they need to get the facts straight instead of making them up to help their side of the case. It infuriates me.

IMO

I hear you...I miss the days where news was supposed to be impartial. Now they seem to have to take 'sides' in the most EXTREME ways. It would be nice if they would not 'speculate' all of these methods, but try not to get too upset in hopes that by HLN boosting the defenses ego, maybe they won't whine about who the real rockstar is ;)

I seriously wonder what the men on the jury think of Miss Alyce. Oh wait.....no I don't :floorlaugh:

Well, she obviously doesn't care. She has clearly demonstrated a bias yesterday and today. I don't like it.
