Watching Juan's cross from today and am particularly impressed with Jodi and Jennifer's ventriloquism.

You can't even see Jodi's hand up Jennifer's *censored*, yet every time Jodi leans in and whispers, Jennifer pops up with an objection and Jodi's lips never move.

They're goooood.....

A few eons ago, when JA was on the stand she used this word " verbiage" and to me at that time i thought immediately ( like the ever suspicious teacher) alarm... plagiarism..... sorry some things just stand out after a long time - the Crap-o-meter goes off. ( the well trained brain hehe)

well today when I heard Alv say " verbiage" ::thud::

I knew it! she did get her verbiage- all of it- from somewhere else.

I know I 've never been in jail...where I know it is really, really boring, But to share something, I am feeling really dejected and PO d- all those years in therapy my shrink never gave me a book. ( hmmm line items + 7 alv's books + 1 Dr$ book and a bakers dozen matchy matchy outfits so Jodi can match the DT)

Where is ALV's humanity? Is she so stubborn or mercenary that she can't see yet that JA is the abusive batterer ..highest level terrorist stalker- and she did premeditate the murder of Travis Alexander.

I cut my finger on a glass at Margaritaville.
I cut my finger on a metal plate while taking hot glasses out of the dishwasher
I cut my finger when I dropped a glass in Travis's kitchen
The ninja chick sliced my finger
I cut my finger while cutting green apples
Travis kicked me & broke my finger

The knife was in the bedroom on the night-stand
The knife was in the closet
The knife was in the dishwasher
The knife might be in a dumpster

He grabbed my sweater
He grabbed my waist
He lunged at me
He slapped me
He hit my neck
He grabbed my shoulders
He choked me out, till I was unconscious
He put it in my mouth
He put in in my but
He put it in my vajay
He put it in my hand
Next it will be he put it in my ear.

I wanna stalk Juan, I loved him today!!!....maybe I'll just crawl in his bed ;)

I awas proud of Juan and the Judge today. LaViolette started with her nonsense after his very first question. But he wasn't having it today and neither was the Judge. Oh no---not today---huh uh.

Why, when she's the one wearing the black robe and carrying the gavel, does JM have to continually train and re-train her?

Well from what I saw she continued on with it the whole time even after that initial approach. And did I see that correctly that the DT had to take her out in the hall to talk to her about something? If they asked her to knock it off, she sure didn't listen. Well until JW got up there. The change was miraculous.

ALV is also WRONG about her characterization of what people do when they are stalked. According to her testimony today she said, people who are stalked take action. She said it to imply that ALL people who are stalked take action.

That is simply not true and the statistics about stalking bear that out. MANY people who are stalked are embarrassed by the situation and DO NOTHING about it. Often they don't tell anyone about it at all, maybe just a close friend.

Particularly when it comes to an ex lover. Often times as the stalking escalates the victim does reach out to the police and is told quite clearly, "There's nothing we can do until he/she does something then call us."

They are told to take out a restraining order which costs $250.00.

I got quite upset listening to this so called experts testimony today because it seems to me that she's willing to throw many of the well known facts about stalking right out the window in order to PROVE HER POINT.

She reviewed transcripts of interviews with other witnesses. If she did separate interviews with them would they be expected to say something different than what they said the first time to LE or the prosecutor? And if they did, would that be more or less credible? I have no issue with her relying on sworn statements or statements to LE. That would be typical and expected.

No way could she corroborate JA's statements without interviewing the others. She corroborated nothing, just took JA's word for everything.

As soon as I saw the greasy hair look behind her ears, I suspected the DT was trying to give her a new "battered woman" look. JMO

My understanding is that the Judge can't do anything about ALV not answering the question asked until Martinez objects and states why. That her answer is non-responsive etc. Then the Judge can admonish the witness if she sustains the objection.

The cops still cannot do a lot in states, because the laws are still catching up. This was back in 2008. Laws were on the stalker's side.

http://www.esia.net/Forms_of_Stalking.htm Intimate Partner Stalkers

Once the relationship ends, this group of stalkers, fearing they will lose their identity and self-worth, often become desperate to re-establish the dominance and control they wielded during the relationship. If they find this isn't possible they can become suicidal, homicidal or both. Think about what mom and dad said in interviews. Travis probably called Jodi's mom.

OMG, anyone just hear what "judge" Seidlin said about Juan? That he's taking way too long on cross, and it's just becoming a Juan Martinez commercial? Is he serious? This is the Anna Nicole Smith crying judge right? LMFAO....I hate HLN too. :floorlaugh:

Juan is taking too long? Has he seen Nurmi and JW? Those people can drag out a cross like no other. I get the feeling that they feel that the longer they drag things out the more likely the jury will forget why they are there and what their client did. I'll never forget JW's cross of RS after the juries questions. She went over each question once again and RS gave the same answers once again. Totally pointless.

I am not biased, and my mind is closed to any evidence which might indicate otherwise.

I SO noticed the change in the do - I'm sure the jurors did too...When I first saw it I told my hubby "Check Out the New Greasy Hair Look" - Now the DT is trying to make her look "abused" with the greasy hair look.....

IMO the big point with this was her own statement that 90% of the clinical interview is non-verbal body language. She was basing 100% of her assessment on written words and Jodi. If she felt non-verbal body language was so important in her 'expertise' than logical sense is for her to have personal interviews with as many people as possible in corroborating her data...

Just reading on websleuths intentions in meaning are misread in the tone of a post, so the fact that she didn't even make a phone call to talk with people and get their 'take' on written information is disturbing. As a professional giving an assessment, she should not allow attorneys or anyone to 'dictate' how she should go about her assessment.

I agree.

And she kind of made an 'oopsie' today, that I hope some of the jurors picked up on. When JW was asking her about her apology to JA, she said she apologized because she had read all of these private journals and messages AND SHE RARELY EVER DOES THAT.

Wha? :what: I thought she was the DV expert that was hired to study journals/texts/IM's precisely because she is so EXPERIENCED making clinical assessments from sources like this. But then she leaks out that she doesn't know the difference between IM's and texts, has never emailed, and that this case is something she has very little experience with.

If she does not have any clinical experience with assessing peoples journals and texts etc, to come to her professional opinion, then what is the point of her testiphony?

I am a court reporter, in all my years doing this job, I have never seen a lawyer who detests his client as much as Nuri has.

There is no letter writing between them., no talking, there is nothing. He makes himself so removed from her. If he could sit at the prosecution table he would be there.

That is really telling, he detests her as well.

I find it interesting that ALV seems to believe Travis should have been more firm in discouraging Jodi from coming around but yet Deanna was at his house a lot and he had not dating her since way before Jodi. I still can't get over how there is this desire to label Travis a "cheater" when he was dating a number of women. That is pretty normal with men, isn't it. Unless you are really interested in just dating one person many men date more than one woman at a time until they decide to be exclusive.
I think you youngsters say, "Put a ring on it."

It seemed to me that after the first question---and then the immediate side bar---she shaped up for a few minutes. But then unfortunately, she fell back into her usual.....what should I call it...........let me think here now for the word I'm looking for............oh yes, I have it now............PATTERN.

Really more of a rhetorical question, Clancey. Not really directed to you; I should have posted a comment instead of replying to yours.

The judge is not blind, nor is she required to be.

JM objects, SKS sustains or overrules.

JM should not have to repeatedly remind SKS to admonish the habitually non-responsive witless.

SKS has remedies -- enforcement mechanisms -- available to her which JM does not. COC, for example.

Samuels and LaViolette have been grandstanding, hamming, and generally making a Cirque du Moquerie out of Maricopa County Superior Court.

SKS is, but should not be, indifferent to it.
