This was posted on another thread:

4/10/2013 MOT - Motion - Party (001) 4/10/2013 NOTE: DEFENDANT’S MOTION TO COMPEL; JOURNALS SEIZED FROM MS. ARIAS’ JAIL CELL ON OR ABOUT APRIL 1, 2013

WOW what has Jodi been doing in jail to have this done. My imagination has gone wild with all the odd things that have gone on in the courtroom since April 1. Does anyone know if the shackels that I understand she is wearing now is new since April 1?

BBM: Yes, WOW ! I wonder IF that yellow and blue notebook she is allowed to tote back and forth from court to jail is her journal, or part of her journal ?

At times it looks like she is writing and at times it looks like she is drawing in those notebooks.

And NOW she is wearing a STUN BELT AROUND HER WAIST -- previously, she was wearing it around her leg/knee area -- BUT that stun belt around her waist is HUGE !

Some of our wonderful posters caught great screen shots of this yesterday -- oops -- I mean Tuesday, and is on those days threads.

She is most definitely "up to no good" ... always has been and always will be ...

:jail:

Do people on websleuths with teenagers "Know" that it's not uncommon for teenagers to be untruthful?

I have no kids, but I have 2 nieces and a nephew, who've reached or passed the teen stage, and I can't say that they were "untruthful" teens. Why does ALV think it's normal for teenagers to be liars? Isn't that to do with raising and environment and not to do with being a teen?

JA's father didn't just say she lied as a teenager..he said, "She has lied ever since the age of 14". It fries my grits when the defense keeps saying her father said she lied when she was a teenager...grrrrr.

Morning

JA's tweets, apparently

Snipped for space

Ugh. Thanks for saving us the effort to go look at that. I couldn't thank the post itself. I just couldn't. Bleah!

So, LaViolette says that people who are stalked generally do something about it - like get a restraining order or make a police report.

Before I make a comment about this, I have a question -- did ALV ever define what she means by stalking? Is she talking about the definition of a criminal offense or "stalking" as the word is just commonly used or what?

She did define the word at Wilmott's request-- and I BELIEVE she gave the definition as related to a criminal offense. Hopefully someone who remembers better can clarify...

:please:

I'm am plagued with thoughts of what she did to the family dog.

I've said this before - She killed Doggie-Boy. She is extremely JEALOUS - I remember her saying that Doggie-Boy had broke loose from his chain in the backyard and there were "DIAPERS" strewn around. She said that made her so mad she kicked the dog and he ran away. That dog did not run away. She killed that dog IMO. It may have started when her siblings were born 7-10 years after her - She demanded full attention from her parents and that was weakened when her siblings were born. She lost CONTROL and the parents gave more attention to her little siblings. JMO

Yes, I know. It's just JW asked if ALV saw anything extraordinary about that, and ALV thought she was being witty by saying anyone with teenagers knows that it's not uncommon for teens to be untruthful. I just didn't like how she set it up as if teens are just known to be liars. That's what it sounded like to me.

But I agree with you. Her father, in an animated tone, explained that Jodi hadn't been truthful since she'd been 14. He wasn't stating that she was an untruthful teen. He was stating that about 14 was when she seemed to turn into a liar, and he was bringing that fact into present day by saying "since then."

I agree it's irritating, and I hope this concept isn't lost on the jury.

I'm sure, katy, that you wanted to, in a manner of speaking, put her in a crate & ship her one-way to Siberia. It was your son she was hurting, your little boy. (I have one, too -- he's 31 y/o, happily married, and they have a 5m/o daughter -- but he's still my little boy.)

And my DH & I had a friend -- he was the ex of my college roomie & BFF -- and he was charged & convicted of "Stalking" (a misdemeanor), when he was about 49 or 50, and given a suspended sentence. He was a highly paid & well-known & respected CFO of a good company here, had re-married a great woman & had a daughter my son's age. He was stalking (and did no more than that, but still...) a high school girl -- younger than his own daughter. He lost his job, his house, and his wife. So it does happen, and apparently LE will arrest and the prosecutors will prosecute stalking. And we're not in a small town with very little crime -- Raleigh has a population of around 420,000. So it is a crime that law & order will pursue.

And that's my brush with stalking.

And katy, I hope your son is indeed in LE, and safe and feeling good about who he is and the job he does.

It happens, but in my experience with many stalking victims -- most of the time law enforcement will not put much effort into investigating stalking claims, and will not recommend charges unless there are lots of recorded conversations and written threats.

Stalking is extremely difficult to prove in court and even hard to get a pc arrest warrant. Travis didn't try to get the police to investigate Jodi for these things, and he stayed engaged with her until she killed him -- which does indicate that he was not really afraid of her. Although he might have had moments when he was afraid of her, it passed, and he didn't stay afraid of her.

The things that we know about that Jodi did to Travis would not likely be enough to bring stalking charges. Moving near him is not stalking; one occasion of going to his house and seeing him with a girl through the window would not be stalking; the tire slashing cannot be proved with any evidence linking it to Jodi; I don't think Travis had knowledge of Jodi hacking his social media until right before she killed him -- and even if he suspected it, he wouldn't be able to prove it; and for sure the police are not going to investigate and make an arrest while Travis was continuing to have a relationship with Jodi.

Ok, so the defense is claiming self defense and that she reasonably feared for her life based on being a "battered woman" by Travis.

LaViolette has concluded that Jodi was abused by Travis and was a "battered woman" because the abuse was over time and affected her perception and behavior in response to Travis. But has anyone connected Jodi's actions or actually explained her state of mind when she killed Travis and why she would have reasonably feared for her life based on being a battered woman?

I probably just missed it but I don't recall Laviolette testifying specifically about Jodi's state of mind at the time she killed Travis or how that is related to all this past alleged abuse.

She actually glossed over the murder completely. Hours upon hours of JA's journals, text messages, continuum, CV and God knows what else and 2 minutes on the day of the murder and not a word about what JA did or why.

ITA Why else would she write in them wondering who killed Travis.

And remember when she was talking to Flores, she asked him if he had all of her journals? I'm sure he made a note of that -- seems to me, if her journal were truthful <choke, gag> she would have had quite another reaction. Yessss, she's so smart.

And BTW, Brattigirle, I love your avatar -- brings back memories of one of my favorite cartoon characters! Good memories -- I loved that little chick!

I guess you could tweet the question. :what:

She admitted to kicking her dog and it flew a couple feet. The family never saw the dog again. I can't stand to think of what she really did. We will never know.

This girl loves to KICK and apparently resorts to knives when kicking isn't enough. She must have always had a knife on her as she slashed tires when mad. LE also found some knives in her car after her arrest. She can't seem to be too far from a knife.

Especially since most of them are men and see this kind of BS coming a mile off...
I think Jodi would be happy to see all the women booted off the jury because in her mind, men - all men, want her. She doesn't realise that a jury full of men is more likely to vote for the Death Penalty.

IMO

Talk about provocative, oh well, lap up the fun while you can Arias, it'll end in a thud soon enough...

The only good thing about it is according to the story her lawyers aren't happy about it.

I wonder why JM didn't bring up the fact that JA faked her journal after she murdered Travis and most likely before she did, too.

I really hope she didn't kill Doggie Boy. :(

But, I agree about her and knives.

BBM....I read earlier that the bulk around her waist in those pics had something to do with shackles? Can anyone clarify? Or maybe my brain is scrambled and I'm in a fog.

I agree though...she's just weird and sneaky. And now I have to bite my tongue and go to bed because I could say lots of bad things about her....

I know, it's hilarious .. men are even more freaked out by Jodi than women are if that's possible.

That's what I thought! But then I thought I must have just missed Laviolette's big testimony about it.
