Some of the questions do give me a little bit of doubt. But, there are currently 17 jurors and only 12 of them will be selected to deliberate. Some of the jurors asking iffy questions could end up as alternates.

Regardless, in my opinion, the jurors asking questions "pro-prosecution" (for lack of a better term) make stronger arguments, their views are more refined. And that tells me that when it's time to deliberate they'll back up their opinion and stand strong on what they believe.

However, we should not be counting our chickens before they hatch!

I heard Beth Karas say today that not ALL jurors put questions in the basket. How does Beth know this? She is probably assuming. I like Beth, but how does she know which jurors asked questions and which ones didn't or how many asked questions and how many didn't? Just curious.

I was a little doubtful at first but then remembered that the jurors questions are asked in the order submitted which would have been days and days before. I did notice they were getting quite cynical of ALV in the last so many questions for today AND there's more questions to come yet. I wonder if some of the last questions might be more snarky?

I actually thought this was the biggie of the day!

And I also remember that in the notes Juan had been given she said she asked Jodi if she used sex to calm Travis' anger. JUST WOW!!! Talk about leading!

The biggie of the day for me was when Alyce said she had read that Matt never saw evidence of physical violence between Travis and Jodi.

Juan questioned Jodi on who she told about the violence and she said Matt, and that he had seen bruises on her neck.

I can imagine the other Jurors spraining every face muscle,
trying to contain the Oh. Em. Gee. mirth that must have been bouncing
around in their tired brains.
They must go back to their lounge and smile at each other..

I agree! I don't know how they do it. I would find it really difficult to not show any emotion as those questions are being read. I commend them for it!

And I bet it feels good to hear all the other questions and know you're not crazy for not buying what ALV is selling

When this case is over I hope the family files a wrongful death action against Jodi. No doubt they could easily win this.

When this case is over, I hope the Alexander family finally gets to grieve and mourn for their loved one. Whatever they choose to do, I fully support them.

I think the 'Son of Sam' law means the convict cannot benefit from the crime. Nothing can stop their Family (or anyone else for that matter) from selling the same story but saying it's from their own POV.

IOW... There are many ways around the Son of Sam Law.

She's in court, so I guess she could be very vigilant as to which juror puts a question in the basket. But I don't think she can know for sure.

Our Katicoo sits much closer and sometimes she can't tell where the questions are coming from.

JMO, I heard some questions from the Jurors that might be good for the State, but I also heard some questions that I question.....We need ALL of these Jurors on the State's side. ALL of them. Do Not Over-Celebrate just yet, friends. We need Justice for Travis and we continue to hope and pray we get it.

I agree BUT when the questions were first asked, I had a sinking feeling in my gut along the same time (and by the way, what is up with this pseudo intellectual's misuse of contemporaneous vs simultaneous and de edify vs disedify and GREEN WICH vs Greenwich ... what a pretentious little thing but I digress) Jodi began her smirking. I swear her body relaxed.

I thought I'd need a glass of wine and then, then, then, the questions became more pointed and more aggressive and just a little snarky.

In fact, the questions coming from the jury were only marginally less sarcastic than when Juror #5 was present so I'm sure the defense team were wondering if they'd had the wrong juror booted. :great:

The questions are asked in order of placement in the basket, right? So some jurors seemed to have been giving her the benefit of the doubt and listening intently. But suddenly, the jurors clearly began to question that bizarre loyalty and attachment to Jodi that seemed more and more evident as LaViolette found reasons and excuses for her behavior. LaViolette pushed the blame onto Travis, Jodi's father, Jodi's mother, Jodi's childhood and her previous boyfriends. LaViolette even made an excuse for Jodi kicking her own mother (Jodi kicked her mother in 2008, not when she was a teenager).

Seriously, everyone seemed to be on trial except Jodi!

Again, I digress. Sorry. I could tell when the jurors were listening to Juanderful's cross because the questions brought up the double standards and contradictions in her testimony.

I think they were really begging her to concede Jodi could have been lying, could have tricked her, could have been abusive, could have "snapped" could have been jealous, could have been angry. But LaViolette couldn't do it.

The other thing is the belief by the talking heads that the outrage shown across websites against LaViolette is designed to "intimidate" her and I strongly disagree. Strongly.

There are no threats involved in the majority of messages I've seen and nothing designed to intimidate on Amazon (and I admit that I wrote a blistering review but only because I actually did read the book and didn't agree with some of her ideas because they were outdated ... ) so where are they getting that idea?

There are no veiled "You might consider changing your position"; just angry, visceral, disappointed, sad, hurt posts.

If she had done an investigation on her own: contact Det. Flores, obtained a copy of his report and the police incident report, spoken Travis' friends, visited his church, spoken with Bishop Layton (Leighton?), visited with Jodi's parents, gotten her high school records, maybe even had Jodi evaluated again by another counselor or licensed psychologist (especially when her warm fuzzies for Jodi began to seep into her work), she would have fled the whole hot mess of a case.

And she would be stress-free, snug and warm in her jammies preparing for her next seminar where she would be welcomed with open arms.
Respected for walking away from such an obviously crap case.

I do feel that calling her place of business and her home to express their displeasure is crossing a line they swear she crossed so pot and kettle can be re-introduced.

I cannot imagine anyone viewing the crime scene photos, autopsy photos and Jodi's various performances on television and in the interrogation videos believing there was any justification for that kind of carnage.

This jury is smart. They "get" it. I have faith she won't slither out of that court room a free woman.
