If the camping trip story is true, and that's a big IF, bet any/all male coworkers that were potentially part of the plan are in shock and thanking their lucky stars!!! I would be scared as a female on a trip with another female bringing a gun.

The very fact that Jodi claims she was fearful for her safety but was willing to go along on the "panning for gold" trip shows she is very aggressive and quite capable of taking car of herself. This is not someone with low self-esteem.

Impressive....most impressive.

I've always been interested in the history of photography (and stuff), have many a book anthology of old photos and collect Carte De Vista and Cabinet Photos from the 1860s to the 1890s. No nudes though. "Calling card" photos were ubiquitous and now relatively cheap, but anything of significance, like a nude, is rare and expensive. Or anything rare. I just saw one eBay auction for a circa 1870 studio photo a a black cowboy (aka Buffalo Soldier) start at $600. I can get a lot of 15 head shot Carte de Vista for under $40.

It's stood me in good stead. I have a book of old car crashes from the 1930s-1950s called "Car Crashes and other unfortunate incidents" which I reference when people complain they don't make cars like the used to. Good thing, because in an old photo of a car run headfirst into a tree, the car looks pretty good, it's the Manwich inside that doesn't look too good.

Anyway, by really studying old photos you can get a better sense of the past, how things worked, how people thought, perhaps, and the precursors to the modern age.

The people who do this "just so" stories have, I think, not only a cartoonish view of the past, but also the present.

Remember "Bluto" (or "Brutus") from the old Fleischer Studios Popeye cartoons? I'm almost convinced that's the image Alyce LaViolette gets in her head every time she talks about men.

I am so far behind I will never catch up. I need to write my boss a letter.
Dear Boss,
This project that you gave me to do is very interesting but the deadline you
gave me is interferring with my WS time and Trial listening time. I know I
am paid to work but would you mind moving my deadline from next week to
maybe July so I can catch up on this trial. I would appreciate it so much.

Sincerely,
Kensie

If only the better half was interested in this trial so I could follow it at home.

Thanks to everyone for the good posts and for being able to stomach certain
people and their remarks.

Good Morning!

It struck me during the cross when JM was asking ALV about the "leading questions" when she went to visit her and she had to "pull it out of her." That leads me to believe that the ninja story was abandoned only after ALV effectively turned her into a victim. Otherwise we would still be hearing that Jackie Chan and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon of Arizona came into get Travis and benevolently let her escape due to her own karate skills.

The ninja story was abandoned in 2010 after Samuels indicated he didn't believe her ninja story. Alyce didn't meet her until 2011.

The defense has done their best to muddy the waters and obfuscate the real issues, which are in fact very simple. The issues that are being discussed are really not relevant at all to the matters that the jury must decide.

I believe that the defense intended to cobble together a case of self defense that had at it's cornerstone Travis' drive to keep secret his pedophile urgings -- that was supposed to be the secret life that would have made him feel so threatened by Jodi and given him such strong motivation to silence her. However, the whole pedophile thing fell flat, and the jury didn't buy it -- and neither of Jodi's experts even seemed to believe it or put much stock in that as a key factor in the relationship between them.

Since that didn't work, the secret sex life is now the back up "double life" that is supposed to have provided such a threat and such motivation, but that just doesn't seem to have the same force. Especially since the whole history of abuse is not believable, as the defense would have liked.

It's simply ridculous isn't it. If there are claims of pedophilia then law enforcement has many ways to investigate a person's life to discover the truth. The only allegation has come posthumously, and from the lying defendant.

A paper supposedly fluttered theatrically to the floor unseen by the world (except JA) and ALV stirs in the 'teen orgasm' statement as cast-iron corroboration. I call it a stitch-up and if TA were alive he would be able to dispel this cr&p easily.

It's a fabricated distraction, among many others, and who can blame Samantha for shedding tears when JM sticks up for her brother's reputation.

Here's a gem from Arias' art selling website:

About Me

“Since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to art. I have been privileged to study under the guidance of two very gifted teachers. One, I remember only as Mr. B, the art teacher at Orcutt Junior High School, who I’m sure has long since retired. He granted me creative freedom to veer from the linear syllabus and follow my own inclinations. Richard Rengal, my high school art teacher and a true master of fine art, instilled me with the confidence in my ability that I would carry into the future and do still today. It is in large part due to his ceaseless belief in my skill that I have continued my artistic pursuits years after I last walked out of his classroom.”

When you have art class in junior & senior high school, it's called "studying under the guidance of ... very gifted teachers...[one] a true master of fine art...[who] has ceaseless belief in [her] skill?" :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

BBM

Mr. B probably did that so he wouldn't have to deal with her!

Well, she's a "big picture" kind of thinker, dontcha know. And as for those pesky interviews with Travis' family and friends, they were entirely unnecessary because of the "over the top rage" he displayed in his "tirades." Frankly, I could try to figure that out 'til St. Swithen's day, but it wouldn't make any sense to me.

You're right, it just boils down to, "I looked at what I looked at and came to the conclusions that I did. It is not possible for me to explain exactly how, because I did not engage details in isolation. Only by viewing the big picture (with my extra wide-angle and fashionable glasses) can someone such as myself accomplish this feat. Thank you, and please consider buying my book on the way out of the seminar!"

:cow:

And this part of DV Lady’s testimony: (paraphrasing) “He was able to keep the anger going. That takes a lot of energy and not a lot of people can keep their anger going that long”.

*rubs forehead*

How twisted is it to be so incensed and enraged that you'd drive thousands of miles to exact revenge?

How long did she think Jodi was able to keep her anger-fueled energy going while she chased him with a knife and a gun, stabbed him 29 times, slit his throat, dragged him back down into the shower and then shot him in the head?

62 seconds?

NOT.

Many times I've been enraged with a boyfriend and wanted to jump into my car and drive the 10 miles so we could hash it out. I lost steam by the time I backed the car out of the driveway and I'd think, "Meh. Fuhgettit."

No way on earth I'd drive 1300 miles one way to see someone with whom I was on good terms, much less an ex-boyfriend who supposedly treated me like sh^t.

Anyone catch AVL's admission that she saw no stalking behavior on the part of Travis? Isn't stalking behavior a classic characteristic of a batterer?

Okay which one of y'all sent the bomb to sherrff Joe? (Just saw news story on Tv)

Wonder if it was meant for JA?

I didn't send a bomb but I sure left a nasty voicemaiil for Sheriff Joe about JA's phone priviledges!! I know she has rights but I felt she abused them with her evil tweets and someone needs to think twice about what she can do from behind bars!

Does anyone actually believe that all (unmarried) practicing Mormans are celibate? I'm sure some are, but if the truth be known, the vast majority, particularly in 30 yr old group, are probably not. Neither are Baptists. Nor Methodists. Lutherans, Catholics or any other religion in the US. I can't believe that people think he would be tossed from the church or lose his job, because of this. Maybe get a talking to from his minister, but somebody needs to get real.
I'm afraid my workplace and possibly chuch would be empty if this was the case. And I also appreciate people keeping their sex life private.

Good morning all..Just back to W/S so please forgive if this has been asked..The defense keeps making a mockery of Travis' virginity..Could it be that he WAS a virgin before this temptress(JA) came along? His circle of friends were mostly people from his Mormon community and they knew the vows of chastity. Seems Jodi did everything to entrap him from the beginning..That could be why he behaved the way he did with his "first timer"..

welcome back Dolly!!!! (((((()))))

yes, in the sex tape he pretty much says that he was a virgin before he met Jodi (said he didn't even masturbate until he met her: says this in his own words in the sex tape)

I firmly believe this to be true. TA said he didn't masturbate BEFORE he met her.

While I actually do believe Travis was a virgin before he unfortunately hooked up with Jodi, I don't believe he never masturbated before he met her. He was by all accounts, a healthy, red-blooded American male; I can't buy that he wasn't well acquainted with Rosy Palm and Her Five Sisters. He may have been ashamed of it because of his religious beliefs, but that doesn't mean he didn't indulge. At least, I hope he did!

I read what you said on your other post. The Defense case does have the feel of a work in progress lol.

The whole pedophile thing falls flat and, even if they think it's true, which I doubt, it should have been left out. Could Jodi have forced them to put it in?

Men leading secret lives can become very dangerous. Not only when their secret is threatened with exposure, but also, as ALV said, these men become abusive to their partners in direct proportion to the guilt they feel.

We have been taught by the media that if a man is cheating on his wife or girlfriend, it means she is not giving him what he needs at home. Therefore, the woman cheating with him should feel justified and no guilt. The other woman might think differently, though, if she knew that man goes home and abuses his wife because of the guilt he feels.

Leading a double life puts a huge strain on the man, and therefore, on the whole family.

The 'double life' is the heart of the Defense case. They have just not presented it very well.

IMO

They have not tied it together at all IMO, and that's why I brought up the point.

I understand the concept that an abusive man who has a lot at stake if he secret life is revealed ..may become more abusive when threatened. But that concept has not been linked at all to anything that happened between Jodi and Travis and has certainly not been correlated to anything that happened on June 4

The ninja story was abandoned in 2010 after Samuels indicated he didn't believe her ninja story. Alyce didn't meet her until 2011.

Thanks. That means that Jodi was playing up for Alyce, pretending to "minimize" the abuse and donning other stereotypical characteristics of battered women.

And don't you know those poor men just love having their name associated with this person!

This is not the first abused woman's defense case you've seen, is it?

She said on the stand yesterday, in answer to a Jury question, that she has seen abused women kill their abusers, but only in self defense.

IMO
And, if one is to extrapolate the data from just one study I've posted repeatedly, 75% of women who perpetrate intimate partner homicide are never abused by their victims.

Disgusting is right. It reads like a playbook for ALV's testimony. I wonder who actually wrote it.

Given the fact that much of it reads like a tacky bodice ripper (TA described as a 'playboy?' Srsly? What year is this again) I'm going to bet that most of it was crafted by the murderess,

Ask me who I have had sex with in the past, and I will absolutely lie to you every time. I promise ;)

And, I think their private sex life was pretty tame. DH and I put TA and JA to shame. I don't think DH is abusive by any standard, except ALV's. DH told me to fill up the car this morning and he didn't say please - the b*****d!

  • #1,379
You're correct, but she read transcripts of interviews with lots of people and read emails from the Hughses'ses' to Travis.

thanks :seeya:, but we must remember she stated she only saw what the defense gave her.

I find that to be interesting. ALV was brought in for the domestic abuse.
JA had plenty of time to form that story. I am thinking it was Dec. 2011
that ALV met JA.
