Does anyone have any idea what the May 26 TA text was about (2 days before the gun was 'stolen'? I still can't seem to find anything at all about it, maybe it hasn't been released yet and is a 'smoking gun' that will come up soon in the trial?

I tend to believe strongly that Ms. Arias is far more complex than either of the two defense shrinks realized and that she is extremely capable of projecting numerous things to cover her true mental state. I don't know if JM's expert (DeMarte - sorry I do not know her title) got to speak with Jodi. I suspect if she did, she saw a completely different side than either of the defense experts saw. The contrast will be interesting and just guessing, far more believable.

JM has already established that ALV does not possess a Ph.D.

She's been "drawn to art." Einstein? Nay! She is a modern day Bronte/Austen/Alcott/Barrett Browning.

More like a modern day Lizzie Borden.

And, if one is to extrapolate the data from just one study I've posted repeatedly, 75% of women who perpetrate intimate partner homicide are never abused by their victims.

Oh, come now, Kate! You needn't resort to studies with that scathingly brilliant decoder ring of yours!

:seeya: I'm just asking here, don't take offense, but do you believe our judicial system should allow itself to be blackmailed into giving the defendant the sentence he or she would prefer?

Blackmail is beyond exaggeration, no offense, but there is no way that would happen. That is sensationalism brought about by the media. Where is the proof that it has effected this jury in any way? Just look at the other sire and watch the Juan bashing continue.

It's disgusting.

They have not tied it together at all IMO, and that's why I brought up the point.

I understand the concept that an abusive man who has a lot at stake if he secret life is revealed ..may become more abusive when threatened. But that concept has not been linked at all to anything that happened between Jodi and Travis and has certainly not been correlated to anything that happened on June 4

Correct! OTOH, the texts/emails where TA threatened to expose JA to friends, parents etc. and the ensuing murder, points more to the fact that JA was the abuser with the "double life" ie: her "craziness".

Does anyone actually believe that all (unmarried) practicing Mormans are celibate? I'm sure some are, but if the truth be known, the vast majority, particularly in 30 yr old group, are probably not. Neither are Baptists. Nor Methodists. Lutherans, Catholics or any other religion in the US. I can't believe that people think he would be tossed from the church or lose his job, because of this. Maybe get a talking to from his minister, but somebody needs to get real.
I'm afraid my workplace and possibly chuch would be empty if this was the case. And I also appreciate people keeping their sex life private.

Ah Rob, us sleuthers enjoy being able to share things with each other. :blushing:

It's clear that Alyce is one of those types who subscribes to the often repeated myth that 90% of women who kill their spouses were defending themselves. This statistic is found on many DV advocacy/awareness sites.

Anyway, here's another interesting case of an alleged female stalker killing an her ex.

http://www.nj.com/bergen/index.ssf/...double_murder_stalked_victims_for_months.html

Similar to Jodi's case in that Monica is alleged to have brought with her a gun AND a knife, using the gun on the ex and the knife on the new girlfriend. Fortunately, self-defense won't fly in this case because the girlfriend was also killed.

Richard Rengal, this art teacher spoke in her favor in a news article back in Jan...prob the only reason he is listed in her little "about me"

Here's a gem from Arias' art selling website:

About Me

“Since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to art. I have been privileged to study under the guidance of two very gifted teachers. One, I remember only as Mr. B, the art teacher at Orcutt Junior High School, who I’m sure has long since retired. He granted me creative freedom to veer from the linear syllabus and follow my own inclinations. Richard Rengal, my high school art teacher and a true master of fine art, instilled me with the confidence in my ability that I would carry into the future and do still today. It is in large part due to his ceaseless belief in my skill that I have continued my artistic pursuits years after I last walked out of his classroom.”

When you have art class in junior & senior high school, it's called "studying under the guidance of ... very gifted teachers...[one] a true master of fine art...[who] has ceaseless belief in [her] skill?" :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

There she goes with those 50 cent words again. Gag me with a pitchfork!

After watching yesterday and catching some of it now on HLN it is so obvious that the Jury gets it with the questions. And I see that some of the juror questions were YES or NO answers which to me was telling ALV that her long winded nonsensical answers are not believable. jmo

Her method, in this case, genuinely seems to have been: (1) Interview Jodi. (2) Review provided materials for evidence that support claims of Jodi. (3) Deposit check.

BBM

I heard the Ker-Ching sound repeatedly yesterday.

I hear it every time she implied anyone who grew up in an abusive home (except Arias, and perhaps a few other women) couldn't grow up and be non-abusive themselves, or have a normal intimate relationship unless they first had 'help' or an 'intervention' - 'help' or an 'intervention' of the kind ALV makes at least part of her living from.

Yet another constituency of people that Ms ALV has alienated. The Ker-Ching sound was getting more tinny and feeble as they day went on.

Ms AVL would do well to remain on the stand for as long as possible at this rate of pay. Her prospects for future earnings aren't looking too good right now.

Jodi said it had to do with his "pedophilia", but this was discussed only over the phone.

The ninja story was abandoned in 2010 after Samuels indicated he didn't believe her ninja story. Alyce didn't meet her until 2011.

Ahhhh...that makes sense. Does anyone have a timeline of the various changes in her story over the years? I seem to remember someone posting something similar a while back.

My opinion is that it may have been a male or female that loves JA. As to the question of whether it's a male or female is simply because I'm not sure what type of person would do such a thing.:blushing:

ps, I didn't name any names, right!

Perhaps a convicted arsonist? JK I think that is unlikely, but I'm glad they have leads.

I think the Defense has no choice because these things have to come out for their case to be argued and understood.

However, the more I see of this trial, the more I think the Prosecution should have cut a murder two deal with the Defense and just put a longer time period on it--maybe 25 years to life.

Maybe everybody's wishing they did that now.

Nice to meet you, too!

IMO

NO WAY, sorry not yelling at you but when JA tried to plea M2 the document stated that if it weren't excepted that they would drag not just Travis but his family, friends and many others through the mud. She is a manipulator and now has a team to help her. Not to mention endless amounts of state tax dollars to trash Travis. His family knew this and still wanted Juan to proceed.:furious:

Ask me who I have had sex with in the past, and I will absolutely lie to you every time. I promise ;)

And, I think their private sex life was pretty tame. DH and I put TA and JA to shame. I don't think DH is abusive by any standard, except ALV's. DH told me to fill up the car this morning and he didn't say please - the b*****d!

I guess I'm even more old fashioned than Ms. LaViolette. In my day, it was called 'discretion' when men didn't broadcast to the world that they were being intimate with a woman, and it was considered gentlemanly conduct.

'Discretion is the better part of valour.'
