Could it be that the defense wants that "eye reflection" photo in because they "think" that the jury will be able to see Jodi with the camera in her hand(s)-- and no weapon in her other hand --

And that she dropped the camera and Travis "attacked her" ... blah blah blah blah blah blah ... thus, the "self defense" bulldinky story.

I don't think threats against LaViolette from the public affect the trial at all! Supposedly the jury doesn't know about them. And trials like this always bring out the crazies. (Look at Jodi's "friends" in the gallery.)

I bet she has had lots of threats against her over the years from the abusive men she has counseled. She is probably still in the cross-hairs of some of them.
