Amazing how fast the pace is now that we have intelligent and non-aggressive witnesses, huh?

 I know!!!

It's like a real trial now,,,,,,,,,instead of Middle School Lunchroom Duty. :bigfight:

After yesterdays smack down and calling out JA and her twittering about JM I believe JA thinks she is paying JM back by NOT looking at him.

Secondly JA was administered some testing by the defense which she performed - does the defendant have the right to refuse testing by the prosecution or would the defendant be court ordered to be tested.

If the defendant was court ordered or under duress - would the testing be considered valid?

The jury IS noting that JA is not paying attention, her un-courtroom behaviour and are storing this informaton... It doesn't look good and/or respectful and the jury will consider that against the "saint" image the DT is trying to paint.

Calling all twittererers......
Has anyone said if the jurors are submitting questions for this witness?
TIA!

Same problem here. Since my IQ is probably somewhere between those of a walnut and a coral, I'm resorting to reading WS on my iPhone and watching live stream on iPad. :groucho:

When you open the new tab while watching the video, double click the HOME button...when the controls come up just click PLAY and it'll keep playing from the video.

Kind of a pain but it works.

Good Afternoon Everyone! My work load was crazy all day up until now and I missed the entire morning. Did Alyce testify to anything this morning? Can anyone enlighten me what that was all about? And also, last week Judge asked Ms. Wong to appear. Can anyone shed some light on that for me? Thanks in advance!
Ms Wong was there yesterday re: the defense motion for mistrial. DENIED.

No ALV... Defense rested and JM has been questioning his first rebuttal witness all morning. And, she is PHENOMENAL!

I just made myself a frappe. And I'm having some tiramisu along with it. Part of my celebratory "meal" for professionalism in the courtroom again, finally! :giggle:

Exactly, and that is why I think asking her those questions about pedophilia concerning TA is irrelevant because there isn't one bit of evidence that he has EVER been interested sexually in little boys in the first place.

I think the jury has already dismissed that Jodi lie among all the rest she told.
Given that Nurmi's private practice centers around defending those accused of a plethora of sex offenses, he had to know that introducing pedophelia into the mix was a huge risk given the COMPLETE lack of evidence to support it. Acting out a school girl fantasy, brazilian waxes and asking your GF to wear braids does not a pedophile make. IIRC, it came out in testimony (initially during Juan's cross of Jodi), that JA told ALV that Travis had child 🤬🤬🤬🤬/pics on his computer. Nothing of the sort was found so she scaled back the lie to the one about masturbating to a (printed) picture of a young boy.

If this were a boxing match ....

Countless rapid-fire blows landed to the sizable GUT of the defense case.

In the real world... ALV would be JD's subordinate.

One lie in reference to PTSD on test renders ALL invalid.

Jodi's very very busy today ... Doesn't even need her glasses on account of her refusing to even ACKNOWLEDGE JD's presence. Bizarre behavior considering she is on trial for her life.

Unless she really is busy rewriting her manifesto ... Today's working title ...
La La La .. I can't hear you

AZWatcher, I knew the MMPI would a primary evaluative measure in the prosecution case and it will be very telling. But I have wondered if MALINGERING is a dx that Dr. DeMarte found with JA---JMO but when JM introduced the concept of secondary gain I felt that maybe the Dr. had found Malingering to be present in the defendant.

I haven't seen anything about questions yet, but apparently they are attentive and taking notes.

Have you noticed all the J names around here?!?! JA, JM, JW, JD...

We're gonna get lost with all the initials!

:floorlaugh:

I, for one, welcome any initials with the letter "J" in them!

:great:

Taking my seat for a couple of hours but I am unable to listen/pseudo-transcribe/ride along w/everyone after 3:00 court time today. Anyone willing to help for those who can't be here or listen (or watch) in real time and want quick updates of what's happening and the "gist" of the questions and answers in court?

Welcome all newbies and a big shout out to all of our lurkers! C'mon and join the conversation! The signup fees are a great bargain! (no cost)

We would love to hear your insight, expertise, experience, talents and what you can bring to the conversation about what is happening in court today (or this trial)

While HLN is on commercial break again, does anyone know someone who could go hide the remote from them so they can go without pausing for more than 4 minutes?

Thank goodness!! After 2 1/2 months of testimony, finally a witness who answers the questions asked. In just 2 hours of testimony this witness has discredited JA, DR S, and AVL 2/12 months of testimony. Sympathy to AZ for the waste of taxpayers money.

The DT, DR S, and AVL should be required to repay a portion of their fees. Here in OH indigent defendant's legal representation is capped even in death penalty cases. It is a crime how these attorneys and experts padded their billing by dragging this case for so many years. The State of Arizona should ban them from receiving assiged counsel cases in the future. Penalty should be at least 5 years.

I think JA has her glasses off so she literally cannot see this witness. While I have been watching, I have not seen her even glance toward the stand or Juan (or anywhere else).

This is the first time I have seen her 'seem' to take no interest in her surroundings. This says to me that she is extremely undone by this Dr. I bet their personal interactions during the eval were very interesting!

JA definitely knows this Dr. has her number.

I noticed the lack of glasses also...and if we notice, the jury notices. It makes her look very childish. As if she's saying " I don't like what you are saying, so I'm going to ignore you and act like you don't exist!"

Am I the only one with a seal?

It reminds me of the day on cross when she refused to ever look at JM. She stared off in space, in the jury's direction but (according to court observers) not at the jury. Just refused to look at JM. And "seething" as Dr. Demarte described it.

Oh yeah, I had completely forgotten about that!
