Slightly O/T...Now that we're on lunch break...quick question. Does anyone know how to have two tabs open on an ipad and move back and forth from watching the trial and web sleuths? Every time I switch it stops the live feed?

Any help is greatly appreciated...it's driving me batty!! Thnx! :)

if you find out, let me know too.

If the prosecution introduces evidence for the first time during its rebuttal then the defense can introduce evidence that contradicts or alters the import of that evidence as long as the defense's evidence is not cumulative. Quintana v. Commonwealth, 224 Va. 127 (1982). However, if the defendant's evidence has touched upon the topic the defendant is not entitled to surrebuttal. Hardyman v. Commonwealth, 153 Va. 954 (1930).

I would like to be a fly in JA's brain... I can't imagine what she must be thinking..."I'm doomed"..."I'm doomed"..."I'm doomed"..."I'm doomed"....I wonder...

So far Dr. DeMarte has only gone over the tests that Jodi took, answering the questions herself, i.e. we haven't heard anything from this expert so far that's subjective. Yet, already it's damning.

So I'm watching the video of them talking to the judge, I zoomed way in so I could try to read her lips - unsuccessful. All I got was her looking at Juan after he made a statement and she said "correct" - but I tell you her face tells me that she is so fed up with Wilmott. And also? At one point they showed Jodi, and since I was zoomed in, I could see some HUGE gray hairs on girlfriend's head. I got some satisfaction out of that.

At the end of rebuttal, the defense may be allowed surrebuttal. Surrebuttal evidence is limited to responding to issues that were raised for the first time in the rebuttal case. It is not an opportunity for the defense to present their whole case again, or to open up the door to new issues.

I just keep remembering what Janine Driver said about liars. Liars try to convince, People telling the truth try to convey. Samuels and LaViolet were convincers.

When this Dr was describing Jodi...defensive etc, I thought of Alyce.

I've wondered about that too.

Hi Liebchenmutti,

As I mentioned in a previous post, I think Jodie has earplugs in. If she is as warped as 7 out of 10- it is my opinion they would not allow her to hear this testimony. No one would be safe. They just gave her a coloring book as busy work--I do not think she has looked up once.
JA looked up the moment Judge S said they were breaking for lunch though. She also talked fine to JW.

ETA - JA also looked up when Dr D said JA had lied. haha

If I were crossing Ms. DeMarte, my first question would be "So, you think you're pretty smart, don't you?"

...with your fancy schmancy clothes, beautiful face, hair, body and athletic to boot, huh?

I don't know but I can't wait to see the answer because I have the same problem!

ETA: I think there might be a thread for such questions in this forum somewhere.

Tall, smart, articulate, great figure.

If she wasn't on Team Juan, I could hate her.

I love her, hate her (out of jealousy), and want to be her all at the same time.

Too bad Jodi decided to smear Travis' name in her defense. If she hadn't tried to claim battered women's syndrome the state wouldn't have been able to administer psychological tests. But she did and they did and now she has to sit and listen to the extent of her derangement.

i honestly think that the only reason JA is pleading self-defense is because it gave her the platform to destroy Travis' reputation in open court for the whole world to hear.

Her lie about what happened doesn't even line up with self-defense, as she well knows, as does the DT. Really. Why not just tell a lie about Travis beating her and that's what made her reach for a weapon?

I think JA meant it in her interrogation-in 2008- when she said she knew her life was already over. Nothing left for her but to destroy Travis in court, enjoy the attention she's getting, and dress in civilian clothes for a awhile before everything is taken away from her for good.

According to Dr. DeMarte, Jodi reported only four "incidents" of domestic violence to her, Dr. Samuels, and Alyce LaViolette, yet significantly more to Dr. Carp. Sounds like the defense instructed JA to dial it back for the purposes of the trial--perhaps in an attempt to make it somehow more believable to one or more of the jurors. The trashing of Travis and what she (Samuels and ALV) testified to was bad enough, but I can only imagine how much worse it could have been had she been able to go full bore with all her BS.

I thought I heard Dr. Carp was going to be the defense expert until got ill ??
If true that would explain why told her more storied of abuse thinking she was going to be the expert

Exactly.

I should have added this though.

Liars try to convince you what they are saying is true. Truthful people convey the truth.

Thanks for answering questions I was silently wondering about. Have I told you lately that I love you? ;)
