:floorlaugh:

Do you like to torture yourself every night? I can't watch at all. I just get angry and i'm in a :giggle: mood today.

Dr Drew 'Do you agree defence is doing well?' OMG what a joke and now they're saying DD has stage fright .. OK I've got to turn HLN off.

Madeleine, I get what people are saying though. I feel JA was trying too hard to ignore testimony, and came off as being an arrogant child who is defiantly ignoring their parent. Really. And if we saw this, the jury did too. That's all.

Isn't that JA's nature though? That's exactly what she was, so it is not surprising at all that she behaves in this fashion.

Thank you. These terms are way over my head and probably most jurors too. There should be a very simple way to say she is evil, feels no remorse or has no conscience. I thought that described a psychopath.
Sometimes, yes. But there are many psychopaths who don't commit murder and many more borderlines who hurt themselves more than those around them too. It's a gray area because disordered people are just as different and varied as 'healthy' ones.

In reality, the jury has only heard borderline, PTSD, and battered person's syndrome - and each has been more than adequately explained even if not proven. Psychopathy has never been mentioned in court, to my knowledge - apart from Travis' text referencing sociopathy. No assessments for psychopathy have been administered either.

Why? JA knows exactly where she'll be spending the rest of her life. It's no mystery to her or anyone else. Her showing, pretending, or having "interest" in any witness is not a requirement. That the public thinks it should be a requirement for her to do anything but sit there (quietly) is misplaced energy.

Remember Elizabeth Smart? Well in the trial for her crazy abductor (Brian Mitchell), he made a scene most days in court, sang hymns out loud, interrupted proceedings, and they had to put him in a separate room with a TV feed of the trial because they couldn't get him to be quiet in the courtroom.

I'd rather the trial proceed smoothly, which it is, and could care less what JA does or where she looks or if she's interested or not interested as long as she sits there quietly, doesn't disrupt the proceedings, and Juan and company can do their job.

I think you've made your point that you don't care. I do. Nothing wrong with either of those positions.

I've said before and I'll say it again. JW does not have the ability to think (fast or otherwise) on her feet - she needs to craft her cross-examination in order to make sense. That is why the little that we saw today was such a mess - she got caught short and it showed.

I think they were caught off guard when JM finished so fast. They both jumped straight up and JW started getting her papers together. They were not expecting to have to cross today. jmo

whoo boy...jodi pretending she is not listening to this brilliant young doctor rattling off all her degrees....hahaha

her faces are priceless....pretending like she could care less...hahaha, jodi....your attorney is making the prosecutions witness look better and better...she should just quit now.

Chock Full o' Nuts......

but didn't they use children as an example..who would not feel compassion for an abused child. She said she would, but would remain unbias

That's why it was a JW 'gotcha' question.

It was of minor consequence, except that JM had made such a major issue of RS's major line-crossing.

Did Dr. Drew already do his 'jurors'? And was his behavior bureau only shown once? I admit I have been doing other things but tonight's show seems way different than normal...

Boy, was I wrong about Dr. Drew loving Dr. D. They were talking about how great JW was doing and how young Dr. D is. Blah, blah, blah. I turned it over to "Chopped".
I couldn't believe what I was hearing either! :ohwow: It's the Tigers-Mariners game for me.

I also thought Dr D came across as very nervous and very thirsty. However, that did not take away from her professional attitude and ability to answer the questions right.

What did I miss that I didn't see nervousness? I teach and talk all day long and I drink water constantly, I don't have stage fright, I drink lots since I'm always talking and answering children's questions. JMO

Kate---that's not true.

thx for your insight. ITA and Juan is amazing to watch in action. Do you know if the dt will get to do surrebuttal with their own witnesses after Juan? I've heard both opinions off the forum and am wondering it anyone knows for sure? Would it be the judge's discretion or automatic or not at all.
tia :)

Look at the legal thread. The attorney there says defense gets no surrebuttal.

JM taking the DT to school showing the DT how to question a witness and not spend 10 days.

That's quite different than apologizing outright and sending your clients gifts (and altering test scores).

This "point" will be taken off once Juan redirects.

I don't even think he needs to do that. The comparison is a joke. JA wasn't abused. Those little children were. I don't see how those things are the same.

Amen to that!

It was painful to watch her today and unfortunately, we will have to suffer through her tomorrow and the next day and the next day.

I always thought the cardinal rule for lawyers in court was never to ask a question if you don't know the answer, but JW did not know where she was going at all with this and took so many notes. Not challenge points, but new information. Arrgghh!

Don't know if others see it this way, but I think that JA talks down to the jury, oversimplifying things.

He didn't have time since HLN is so behind on the trial, he is still playing trial footage... 10:00 pm est... :banghead:

Does God exist? His/Her existance is claimed by millions upon millions of people. Does love exist? How do you measure it? All unscientific with no proof. Much is unknown in the universe. Just because we can't measure it doesn't mean something doesn't exist. And no, I'm not kidding. Universal Laws have existed for 5,000+ years. To bring it back to this case, it may be misunderstood and used as some kind of panacea, which is improper and invalid, but the concepts do exist and have been around since before Christianity.

BBM: Indeed, He (God) does exist, and I can offer overwhelming historical evidence to that fact, but in order to abide by the rules, I'll refrain from providing a detailed answer to your question. However, I think if religion and God's existence is allowed to be questioned (and brought up), then a response should be permitted - because, quite frankly, THAT was offensive to me as a Christian.

She goes through the CV line by line, month by month, trying to find if there is a problem. Meanwhile she highlights the positives all of that time.

Juan just goes right to the problem, because he does his investigative homework first, and comes prepared to blow a hole in their weakness. He does not just go on long fishing expeditions like Wilmot is doing.

Ya...I don't remember Jantastic going through Alycle's CV line by line. Ms Wilmott has not learned a thing.

Wow. You lost me again. Could you say tht in laymans terms?
:floorlaugh:

She's probably more than borderline. It's pretty rare to have just one Cluster B disorder and not present symptoms of other mental health diagnoses too.

Carnell thinks she's antisocial/psychopathic in addition to borderline. I agree. And she tips the scales of the MMPI, the often preferred psych test for forensic evaluations, which tests for 10 different scales - depressive, psychopathic, etc. (Using laymen's terms) A score of 65 is considered significant. Jodi scored 65 in 7 of 10 scales. Making comorbidity (or multiple mental health diagnoses) even more likely. I'd missed that testimony, so double thanks Carnell. (DD's 13th birthday is today and I'm busy cake decorating, blowing up balloons, etc.)

Hopefully I explained that okay. :blushing:
