"Ya take the good, ya take the bad, ya take them both and then you have the facts of life......":rocker:

Now I have the song suck in my head thanks. :)

I think Dr. DeMarte bears a striking resemblance to Olivia Munn (Sloan Sabbith in The Newsroom). Check it out. Same age as the good doctor and the defendant.

She does resemble her.

Same age as them myself.

Oh my, Curious! Dr. Dr*w is a Psychiatrist which means he not only is an M.D. but also went on to continue after that in the realm of diagnosing/treating mental health.
Just for the record, a Psychiatrist is considered to be the highest level of achievement within the discipline of mental health.

This is true.

I went to college to be a psychiatrist and due to a transposition in the paper work ended up in the art department.

Most likely saved my life.:floorlaugh:

I am off to bed here, fellow Sleuthers :) I have to say, the only thing more interesting than this trial is sitting back and watching where we take our interest and conversation.... LOL Nurmi's ruffles ...wait! no, it's his tie..... JW has a gray patch...maybe...could be a bald spot....JA has a pencil in her shoe.....she flipped the bird, or did she.....DD used to mean Dr. Drew or Darling Daughter, now it means Dr. Demarte....JA has a droopy eye.....glasses ON, glasses OFF....
I am amazed at what you all see, pick up on...and some of the comments make me laugh so loud it scares my cat :)
Have a safe and wonderful night. I'll be playing catch up here late tomorrow afternoon. This is one of the few times I wouldn't mind a cancellation.... Not saying I want to have to call out sick or nuthin' :) Nite all :)

See ya tomorrow!

I'm sure by the time Jodi tells her story to the other inmates, she'll have them convinced that Travis had it coming. Just like Betty convinced women that a cheating husband that ran off with a younger woman after she put him through medical school and law school had it coming.

MOO, but Dan Broderick was a first class tool who mentally and financially tortured Betty Broderick. But he didn't deserve killing.

These cases aren't even close to comparable. IMHO. Betty was a supportive spouse of 20 years who worked to put her husband thru both med school AND law school. Then he dumped her for his secretary who couldn't type. :what:

oh em gee. What is Jodi doing, decoding The Dead Sea Scrolls? Nurmi must have found her something really interesting to keep her preoccupied during Dr. JD testimony.

With the hair pulled to the side and her nose hovering just barely above the page she looks a little daft.

What an exciting day today!! I thought JM and Dr. D were excellent!

I saw something earlier (the pages go SO fast!!) about the brazilian wax and how the DT tried to make it seem like that was an indicator of pedophilia.

We were talking about this very subject at a family get together over the weekend (Yes, it probably sounds weird, but we are all very open!) and my nephew who is 21 was saying that almost all the girls he knows and his friends know get them, even back when they were in high school, so it doesn't have a thing to do with pedophilia!

Just thought I would share that, sorry if it was TMI!

You're family sounds like mine :rocker:

Juan wouldn't put on an "expert" with many big old skeletons for JW to unearth. I feel confident he is well aware of any weakness his expert may have and can effectively counter anything JW brings up - and, do it with few words. I have faith in him and I noted that his objections were rare during this lame attempt by the defense to discredit DD.

IMO - this isn't lost on the jury. They surely respect him for not throwing up smokescreens and objections that serve no purpose but to deflect and waste the court's (especially the jurors') time.

I'm confused about your post. To what does it refer?

My post that you quoted was in reference to JW trying to topple Dr. D's testimony.

My comment essentially meant Juan knows JW has no A-game.

Who cares if she was a bit tense? She would be stupid not to be; she knows the defence is looking for anything they can to demerit her credentials and her evaluation. The drinking...So what? She was up there on the stand for 4+ hours today. I'd be drinking too. At least she's not asking for pee breaks throughout her testimony.

moo

I wasn't criticizing her, just observing.

does anyone else worry that this borderline personality disorder assessment might make the jurors go lightly on Arias because of her mental issues?

Not worried.

Who among you think that the DT would have been better off going with 'Temporary Insanity' or some kind of 'heat of the moment' defense rather than this whole self defense crock of simmering pig dung?

Yes?

No?

Yes?

No?

Probably, because any other defense would be better than this defense.

BBM: I'm going to be intently watching JA's response when the verdict is announced. Anything could happen. What would be *sweet* is if she confirmed the Death Penalty verdict (that will surely come) with a total outburst and rage so furocious it scares the bejeebers out of everyone. That would be soooo "debasing".......:floorlaugh:

Mark my words....she will 🤬🤬🤬🤬 her head to one side and smile....bet you!

Beautiful! I do remember the doctor being asked when these symptoms show up and she said as early as a toddler. So my belief still stands that some people are just born evil. The camera panned over to Jodi's mom and I genuinely felt sorry for her. Thank you for explaining.

Not me! She knew her child had problems at an early age. She should have ehausted every possible avenue to establish stable mental health for
Jodi.

The parents found out she was growing pot on their roof, they called the police and expected them to handle the situation. That should have been treated with loving parents and professionals.

I believe the parents were running several restaurants (and that is very hard work), but Jodi should have been their first priority. She wasn't.

They allowed her to leave home at the tender age of 15 and live with a guy (Bobbie ?) Who does that? What parent DOES THAT!!

I believe Jodie should receive the death penalty. Not only because she physically murdered Travis, but she tried to ruin his reputation and his contribution to society.

If nothing else comes out of this horrible case, I hope that parents that have a truly difficult child (and you would always know it in your heart of hearts), to put aside everything and anything to help and promote your child to reach a stabilization for their mental/emotional health issues.

Just saw an interesting theory, which comes from Judge Hatchett (I think that's her name).

Judge Hatchett thinks that Jodi took pictures with Travis, and cavorted around, I guess you could say, in order to get him to take her to Cancun instead of the other woman. Maybe her goal was for them to reconcile, but Hatchett just mentioned the Cancun thing.

When Travis, after all that, said "No way," Jodi went stark raving mad, and tortured and killed him.

That theory really makes sense. Don't know if it originated with Hatchett, but it explains why JA took the pictures. There would have been no murder if Travis just would have seen things Jodi's way.

:furious: (That's Jodi, as Dr. D. so aptly described her today!)

I wasn't comparing cases--- I was comparing relative popularity in prison. I think Jodi will be as well liked in prison by other inmates as Betty was.

It is my opinion that the Jurors respect this witness. I learned some new things thru her testimony today about JA and I'm sure the Jurors did too. I also heard her say that she learned by Dick's report or notes that JA told him that "JODI GOT RID OF BOTH OF THE WEAPONS". I didn't watch the entire trial, but I don't remember that part. I remember JA saying she threw the gun into the desert, but I don't recall the knife riddance...Maybe the dishwasher but she was in that fog that got totally burned today. This witness read from JA's words that JA kicked holes in walls and broke windows out of anger. First time I've heard of that. What else did we learn today?

... I like it.

I know, I know. But a lot of folks he has treated, well, didn't fare so well and he is a TV personality. Not knocking his education...just sayin
I stand corrected.
